But besides that, Joyce was such a fun vessel to channel the campiness of the show in the early seasons and when she learned about Buffy's powers it got even more fun. I thought he was a great character, especially thanks to James Marsters' comedic performance. DEREK Quote After Angel left Spike was still there and they still managed to keep him interesting, make him a Buffy love interest, all the while keeping him 1000% unique and not just an Angel clone. WALLACE Quote Probably an unpopular opinion, but I could not stand Spike. Sure he's kinda funny, but I found him cocky and he just annoyed me lol. Maybe I'll come around to him on a rewatch. DEREK Quote I like Giles, he does a good job as a supporting character. JENNY!!!! I think he plays an important role in the show to balance things out but he's not always the first one that comes to mind when I think of amazing Buffy characters. 7. STEVEN Quote In the Spike vs. Angel debate, I think Angel was a better match for Buffy (if their relationship wasn't doomed from the beginning). However, as a character, I like Spike better. She does mature more as a character on Angel, but she was still fun on Buffy too. WALLACE Quote She's hot. She was harsh at first but was kind of a fun villain. DEREK Quote She left the show and went to Angel. I think she was fun but when she left the show really didn't lose any of its magic. 3.
