Most Controversial Team Kelly Decision

Ironically, S17 was initially declared by IDF as the season where Kelly lost her mind, since almost all of her decisions there were repulsed here by most. But I don´t think any single decision on S17 was as controversial here as her picking Cody over SandyRedd, Tanner over Marisa or her picking Micah over Taylor. 

 

I´m going with Tanner over Marisa as the most controversial personally, because I actually thought Micah won his KO, and I´m not even a fan of him. I did think Sandy won her battle too, but I did like Cody, so it wasn´t that much of a big deal. Plus, she got a triple steal.

The only ones that baffle me are Micah over Tayler and Tanner over Marisa.

I picked the Micah > Tayler one though because Tanner and Marisa both pretty much flopped (as did Micah), but Tayler's was really solid and she deserved a win there 100%.

Like I said: In S17 she lost her mind, yet her team composed of snowflake killers ended up outlasting more consistent contestants and she ended up winning at the end. She´s up to something lol.

I don't think none of these decitions had overall relevance on the competition (and i don't care for most of these, either), but i'll go with Season 17's battles because Injoy deserved better

Overall, I’ll be honest, her season 17 battles and her season 18 knockouts. We don’t know how Mandi vs Anaya went down, but I would’ve picked both of the “losers” of her knockouts (Cammwess and Tayler) as the winners, purely based on their performances, which I thought were better than that of their opponents.

Her strategy seems to be to pick a TCO very early on, and live or die by it. The rest is mostly random, based on personal feelings and preferences.

Yeah, she was definitely all in on Jej. She probably thought he would easily make the finale, at least. She does not have the power to get any contestant of her choosing to the finale, as Blake does.

I think Blake was angling for Kat to get in the finale. I don't think it was possible, though, considering that she was pitchy (and this is coming from someone who liked her). It is really really impressive he managed to get her to 5th place, with her pitch issues.

She's good at winning, the others are probably more or less expendable on the show, though she'll support them off of it. That's how I see it.

A lot of questionable decisions for sure, but she won 3 times so.

 

As for the controversies, I’d say Mikaela losing to an adult trio but personally I didn’t care that much. Her S17 battle decisions were something but at least she eventually won.

 

Saving Shane Q and DR was not strategic at all but I wouldn’t say it’s controversial (her teams were a bit weak those seasons).

Tayler Green deserved to move on, same for Marisa. I think the biggest issue with Kelly is that her KO pairings are complete bullsh*t and not pairing Tanner/Madeline and Taylor/Anaya was just wrong.

I really don't know what she was thinking in season eighteen.  But in season nineteen, it was obvious that she wanted to take both Tanner and Madeline to the Lives for more country, despite Kelsie and Marisa being the stronger singers.

Marisa should have won... but was so obvious that she had decided the winner before the performances... at least she should have put that pairing first and Marisa would have gotten a steal 100%

 

The same with Micah vs Tayler but at least Micah was a frontrunner... but Tanner ? Really?

I do get the Micah vs. Tayler thing even though I much preferred Tayler. Micah made it to the finale. I do not think that Tayler would have been able to do so, even if she performed at the KO level for the POs. Micah and Megan probably both would have beaten her in terms of votes, Micah nearly for sure.

Though Kelly's decision-making overall was generally questionable in S17, I voted Micah vs. Tayler as the overall most questionable because it's the one I side-eyed Kelly the hardest for (heck, if you watch the video back even Micah was shocked he won that over Tayler). Though it worked out long-term since Micah ended up being Kelly's finalist, it was a pretty big gamble to take.

Considering that song choice is so hard to sing live and still he did well is what makes it impressive. Tayler did good but not too impressive for me, other singers can do that.
