Very few standouts this episode but I was glad to be here with you all.  Auditions are finally over and next week is the dramatic Hollywood Week.

Wow, Althea’s story was one of the saddest I’ve ever seen on this show. That baby was adorable. So glad she got a transplant. 
 

Yay Hollywood Week! And the obligatory ambulance.

This was the last of the open auditions for the is year, next up Hollywood week. Keiko Martin, Fransisco Martin's borther (fransisco was finalist last year), auditioned and only in my opinion only, has a better voice than his brother. The only audition that gave me top 24 possible vibes was Deshawn, great choice of song and and he definitly knows how to play a piano.

not impressed with anyone yet. too many inexperienced teens and  the judges are more critical with those over 20.. 

wild theory: did HR told them to get only those below 20? so they could mold them into what they want?

Here’s my comments on the final group of auditions that made it to Hollywood:

 

1.  Madison:  she was really good.  I can see why she made it into the Top 24.

 

2.  Liv:  she was good enough to make it to Hollywood but not quite good enough for the Top 24.

 

3.  Ava:  lovely voice but I think that she was largely cast as fodder.

 

4.  Deshawn:  one of the better male singers in this season.  He probably deserved to be in the Top 24.

 

5.  Alana:  good enough to get to Hollywood but like Ava, she probably was cast as fodder.

 

6.  Cameron:  good enough to get to Hollywood, not good enough for the Top 24.

 

7.  Tryzdin:  first song was okay, but the second song was what got him into Hollywood.  Not quite good enough for the Top 24.

 

8.  Andrea:  I like “Landslide”, but I think Maddie sang it better.  Like Alana and Ava, I think that she is probably cannon fodder.

 

9.  Zachary:  like Cameron, he was good enough for Hollywood, but not good enough for the Top 24.  Catie was better.

 

10.  Brianna:  she was good enough for Hollywood, but I think that her sad backstory helped her get there as well.

 

11.  Colin:  good voice but not really my cup of tea.  Maybe he improves in Hollywood Week.

 

12.  Vahhley:  I have to agree, she bit off a bit more than she could chew with that song.  But I love the song.

 

13.  Wyatt:  cute white guy with a guitar.  Good enough among the males to get in the Top 24.

 

14.  Althea:  lovely voice and I’m glad she got to Hollywood.

 

And some that didn’t make it:

 

1.  Jackson:  he was good enough to get to Hollywood, IMO.  The dismissal surprised me.

 

2. Kiko:  okay voice but his brother was better.
