Ratings: Voice Premiere Ties Bachelor for Monday Win, Debris Has OK Start

 

In the latest TV show ratings, NBC’s The Voice opened Season 20 with 7.7 million total viewers and a 1.1 demo rating, down just a tick from its fall premiere (8.2 mil.1.1). The singing competition easily led Monday in total audience, while tying ABC’s The Bachelor for the nightly demo win.

TVLine readers gave the opener an average grade of “A-“; read recap.

NBC | Young Rock (3.1 mil/0.6) slipped further, Kenan (2.4 mil/0.5) stabilized in Week 3, and The Voice (6.2 mil/0.9) topped Tuesday in the demo. New Amsterdam‘s Season 3 premiere (4.2 mil/0.6, TVLine reader grade “A+”) was down from both its sophomore averages (5.1 mil/0.8) and April finale (6 mil/0.9) to hit and tie series lows.

In the latest TV show ratings, NBC’s The Voice this Tuesday drew 6.7 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, holding steady week-to-week and leading the night in the demo.

They should have classified each hour as a separate show. The first hour is the only one that should be considered original programming.

Last night was the final for basketball. That said, the voice handily beat idol. The problem is idol and the voice draw from the same pool. Idol deciding to take on the voice head to head on Monday night is screwing both of them.

thanks, glad about the basketball. I agree, airing on the same night does neither of them any favors
