Biggest flops IDF made while predicting

Was anyone here actually not shocked after Gwen saved Ben?

I wasn't too shocked, but only because Gwen prefaced her choice with something that pretty much hinted that she was going to save Ben.  Had she done so without any hint of a warning, then I would've been just as shocked.

Disappointing as it was, though, it strategically paid off for her.  Stealing him and then saving him really helped her with Team Minivan.

Liam St John hype

Yeah, there was some talk pre season of him becoming Gwen´s main dog a la Taylor John Williams, which brings me to my next IDF flop:

IDF stating that Gwen had the weakest team with no frontrunners and that she would end up 5th in the finale if they kept the format.

That's the floppiest prediction I've heard so far lmao 🤣🤣🤣

After watching the actual playoff performances, it wasn't that shocking. Sadly, Payge didn't live up to the hype.

I was about to disagree, but I checked my rankings and I did put Ben above Payge lmao

I think for me it was still a little surprising because Payge and Gwen seemed to have a genuine connection and from what I'd heard here, she tended to make decisions  more subjectively. I guess she's got the hang of how The Voice works now lol

They probably had a connection but Payge's performance didn't help for sure :haha:.

It was either Gwen being objective or she simply sold her soul for a couple of votes 😂

Also, I mean, if we´re being completely fair here, the only 1 PV format prevented Ben from getting the 2nd PV, because he would have obviously gotten it. And he was bound to be eliminated if Gwen saved Payge probably. So in a way, it was only fair that he moved on.

I'm also going to admit my own flop with thinking Madeline Consoer could have been a dark horse and make 2nd to Jim Ranger in the Finale. LMAO, I still love my girl, but nerves destroyed her.... KO slayed tho.

She yelled, "I'm sorry!  I'm playing the game!" after she saved Ben.  She definitely knows how the gaming aspect of the show works.

Gwen’s choice between Ben and Payge was inconsequential. Both were fodder, so I’m not really buying the “playing the game” argument.

I’m buying the “she thought she was playing the game” argument. :giggle:

I mean...she had Carter. If she thought Ben would be a factor, her instincts were wrong. Especially, considering Blake had two country singers who were more popular than Ben. Payge would have made it to the exact same spot, and offered the audience something different.

Hunter Plake is a “lock” for the finale.

I could understand potentially Brennley making the Finale from her KO - Top 10 Performances(poor her in the Semis). But not Hunter. Yes he had good Itunes stats, but we know that means only a portion of the actual votes, especially compared to FB stats and trends.

Even Aliyah had better numbers than him, she gained good momentum in the Top 10 with "Jealous" and pulled out the God card at the right moment for when Brennley got the worst song choice in the Semis.

Edit: Also, IDF predicting the Top 3 would be Lauren/Brennley/Hunter from S12, Aliyah and Chris Blue be damned haha(although it would have been possibly the best Top 3 combating S5 and S13's Top 3 finalists).

Avery Roberson being a "sure finalist" and him and Kenzie "battling for the victory" in the finale 😬

And it just happened. Only three rounds before lol. Either way, had Avery reached the finale, and that battle would have taken place, I always thought Kenzie would come out on top. And now we have evidence.

Do you think if Avery got stolen, and kept performing to the standard of his KO, would the audience still vote him to the finale?

While there´s a good amount of people pissed that he didn´t get a steal (although this is nothing compared to the Ethan situation), I´d have to say no, especially when there is a much stronger country guy competing for the same lane, hence why there weren´t a lot of people complaining that Kenzie won, they rather complained about Avery not being stolen.

When we got the spoilers, I expected Avery to be much stronger that he actually turned out to be (especially considering his apparent bold choice of singing a song as difficult as "I´m Moving On", which was incorrect). He´s got the storytelling ability down to a science, but he´s not a super strong vocalist. I also didn´t expect Cam to be as strong as he turned out to be, which is why I initially pictured Avery as Blake´s frontrunner.

But the thing is, Avery lost power the minute he got upstaged by Ethan in the battle. That´s were we knew he was done.
