20. Half of my hometown - Kelsea Ballerini, Kenny Chesney

One of my favorite songs on her self titled Kelsea is a duet that she with Kenny Chesney where she talks about her hometown of Knoxville and discusses how half the people like her left there and the other half stayed and married their high school sweethearts and started a family there. It's a good song that I really enjoyed so it made the top 20 barely.

19. Life of the Party - Ingrid Andress

Ingrid Andress is one of my favorites now after first hearing about her in 2019 where I included her in that ranking as well. I was really looking forward to seeing Ingrid in concert in 2020 I had tickets to see her and Dan & Shay but that concert got cancelled because of Covid so I haven't had the chance to see her in concert yet but one day I am sure I will. This album is fire though all the songs on it are just fantastic she's definitely a star for sure.

18. Seeing Other People - MacKenzie Porter

Adding to the already long list of Canadians to make an appearance on this is MacKenzie Porter with her song Seeing Other People. I hadn't heard of Mackenzie till I heard about this song last and I am definitely a fan now for sure. To go along with singing she has had a smallish acting career as well. I hadn't see anything that she was in as I don't think they are as big as the stuff Jana Kramer was in. But I do love this song and I am looking forward to hearing more from her soon.

17. What Are You Gonna Tell Her - Mickey Guyton

Mickey is one of the very few African American women that sing country music. Country music isn't known for it's inclusivity and Mickey fits in 2 categories that a lot of country music fans don't really care for and is 1 she is a woman and 2 she is black so she has had a tough journey without a doubt. This song is a very powerful song and it's quite a sad one. As a white man I can't relate to what she has to go through but I can feel bad and wish that she or anyone else in her shoes didn't have to go through this. No one should have to deal with the stuff that she deals with but unfortunately they do and it's not likely to change anytime soon sadly. Mickey has a tremendous voice and this song is amazing so I had to add it to the list for sure.

16. Small Town Hypocrite - Caylee Hammack

Caylee is a name I had heard about prior to listening to this song but she's not someone I paid much attention to till now.  From reading her wiki Caylee had a tough time of it till recently when she was nominated for ACM new female artist of the year in 2020. She was worthy of the nomination as well Tenille Townes, Ingrid Andress and Lindsay Ell were also nominate but Tenille Townes ended up winning. There is so many good female country singers now so it was hard to fit everyone in here but I really love Small Town Hypocrite so it was easy to include this song on my list.

15. Living Instead - Olivia Lane

Olivia with another appearance on this list and this is easily my favorite Olivia Lane song. Olivia is a fun person to follow on social media as she is entertaining to go along with being a good singer. Her cat stories are pretty funny as is her failures on the dating scene. She hosts a podcast too which I haven't listened to but it does seem like she is a multi talented human being so good for her on that lol.

14. play w/ me - Bailey Bryan

Bailey has experimented with multiple different genres first starting off as a country singer then moving into pop and even some R & B. She's a very talented vocalist and she's just an adorable human being. Some of her newer songs aren't really for me but I do think play w / me is a fantastic song and worth a high ranking on my list.

13. Lay Here With Me - Maddie & Tae, Dierks Bentley

Fifi would be proud of this high ranking of a Maddie & Tae song as he is probably their biggest stan I know but Rip to him as he is no more on idolforums at least lol. But anyways I love this song and I think it's absolutely a fantastic song. Probably their best song since Girl in a Country Song which they released a while ago now. The vocals and everything in the song is just nearly flawless really.

12. You Kissed Me First - Carly Pearce

This is my favorite Carly Pearce song. I was gonna see her in concert last year but cancelled because of Covid so hopefully I will get that chance again some time soon because I think she is great. She recently went through a failed marriage and has sworn off dating other musicians so I am assuming that we will be getting a lot of good material to come out of this experience but it didn't sound great from what I heard about it at all so I am expecting her next album to be fire.

11. Somebody Like That - Tenille Arts

And the song just missing out on the top 10 is easily Tenille's most successful song to date Somebody Like That.  Somebody Like That has charted really well making not just only the country billboards but the overall hot 100 as well. She has even gotten solid radio play which is a rarity for female country singers. She seems like a very sweet girl and we are getting to the point where its really hard to rank these songs since I love them all but I am good with this placement here.

I like Life of the Party and Somebody Like That, even though I thought both were more 2019 (and Somebody Like That sounds uncomfortably love a certain Keith Urban song(. Also like You Kissed Me First and Small Town Hypocrite. And I guess marriages between country musicians are destined to fail, usualy due to the man being unconfortable with his wife being more successful. :giggle:

I like all three to varying extents, but nah.

10. Think About You - Alana Springsteen, Filmore

Alana made quite an impression on me this year and that only continued in 2021 so far. Alana is pretty young she's still only 20 years old so I feel like she has a bright future ahead of her I think. She appears to be the total package with a killer voice, great personality and the looks to top it all off.

9. I'll Still Love You - Abby Anderson

I feel like half of my list is either from Canada or Texas which is kinda funny. Abby shares the Texas honor with a bunch of my other favorites.  This is easy my favorite Abby song so I knew it was a shoe in for the top 10 I just wasn't sure where exactly I would put it. But the top 10 is filled with so many good songs that it slid in at #9.

8. Love Her Again - Maddie Walker

I first heard of Maddie when she joined a girl group with 3 other girls and 1 of them was a girl I followed on instagram because she was on the voice. They only released 1 album before breaking up because apparently 2 of the girls weren't taking it seriously enough. Afterwards Maddie went off on her own and released this gem and has a new song coming out tonight. This song only has 10k streams on Spotify so she doesn't have much of a fan base but it's a really fantastic song that deserves more love.

7. Let Me Go - Cassadee Pope

2020 wasn't Cassadee's strongest year for music releases but she did release Rise and shine which had 8 songs on it. A lot of songs on this album were hit or miss but it did have one gem on it and it was Let Me Go. This was so good it made up for singing a song about a hoodie lol.

6. Never Have I Ever - Danielle Bradbery

What was said about 2020 not being Cassadee's strongest year can also be applied to Danielle as well. She released a couple of singles and that was it. This was the vastly superior of the singles so it still earned a really good placement just missing out of the 5 and it deserves the high honors because I do think this is a great song.
