oh wow! was not really expecting that for her, but of course it's a super cool opportunity. queen of being booked and busy since her win!

i think her connections to Indio as well as the Idol alumni country network helped her book that. i'm also expecting her new music to have folk/country influences anyways.

Where is the Stagecoach Festival?  And how much will it cost to get there?

It's in Indigo Southern California. It's where she lives. Not sure what a single day pass will cost. Maybe 150 dollars? I dunno.

From what I remember from following country artists over the years, Stagecoach is one of those festivals where a ticket is for all the days of the festival. I don't believe you can purchase a pass for 1 day.

Here's the link to info about Stagecoach passes. The website says a single pass is for all 3 days of the festival & it's for $579.

Most festivals throw up single day tickets later on to sell tickets. Maybe Stagecoach sells out quickly and doesn't have to do that I don't know I've never been.

I checked & Stagecoach doesn't offer 1 day passes at any point & hasn't for awhile. I don't know the reason. I know at least recently they sell out pretty fast.

With those headliners I dont think they are going to have any issues selling tickets so it makes sense.

I decided to create this map showing how many counties (or parishes, in the case of Louisiana) have produced at least one Idol contestant that made it to a voting round since the first season (from which data is available - there isn't enough data online to find out for those below such, as in the Hollywood round, although that could be done with a lot of research). This does not include those with a listed hometown outside the US or in a US territory. The scale is not big enough to view closely in small urbanized areas, such as in the Northeast Corridor.

A total of 292 counties (out of about 3,000) in 44 states have seen at least one hometown Idol make a voting round. This map shows the best result anyone from there achieved, in the case of those with more than one Idol.

6 states (Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont and Wyoming - all pretty small) have never had someone from those states make it past the Hollywood round. Still, there's a lot of places that have shown up in 22 seasons and about 550 contestants.

This discussion has legs to be a thread by itself. It looks pretty accurate. However, at deeper glance it seemed to me that the state of Arizona is surprisingly lacking. I don't remember everyone that has been on the live shows, but I do recall David Hernandez (AI7) being from Glendale, AZ.

Jordin Sparks is from AZ. Before Idol, she had performed the National Anthem for the major AZ sports teams & performed at local AZ events.

Yeah, I know. I see the 1 gold spot highlighted for the winner. I just thought there would be a few more contestants from AZ & i somehow recall D.Hernandez being from Glendale.

That's Maricopa County, AZ, which Jordin Sparks (AI6 winner) has the primary color for.

All the Arizona Idols have come from Maricopa - no one from the Tucson area, or rural Arizona, has made it past Hollywood.

That's cool. If you have the time I think people on here (including me) would enjoy a seperate thread that has a listing of all the states w/ all the contestants hometown.

Eg: NC- Clay, Fantasia, Kellie Pickler, C.Daughtry Scotty, etc...

That could be an expandable piece of work. Some states have long lists (such as TX, FL, GA, NC, TN and CA). 6 states have never had anyone get past the Hollywood rounds. I did start a new thread - moderators can merge the discussions if they want.

i just realized that both Benson and Katy are performing at the VMAs! i wonder if they will acknowledge the Idol connection at all (though i doubt Benson will want association with Katy considering how her era is going lmao).

Since nobody is gonna talk about it on here, i'm gonna do it.

Man, i'm dissapointed on how Katy has been handling her career and persona lately. I had big expectations on her, but she is doing a lot of damage to her legacy. If she just released a cute album with positive messages like i suppose "Smile" was (and without a known predator being heavily involved on it) it would have been better. Even if it flopped hard on sales and streams, at least it wouldn't have hurt her reputation so badly and her legacy would have been intact.

The last season's finale really felt like it was gonna be a new beggining for her after her leaving the show. But now, i think it would have been better if she just stayed as an Idol judge.
