Hollywood Records was the label for the first 3 years of ABC Idol. It’s been the UMG umbrella but with everyone ending up at the BBR Music country label since Chayce’s season.

I don’t think any Idol alums are a still signed to HR. I’m not even sure if 19R has any outstanding contracts from the first 3 ABC seasons.

I was under the impression that Hollywood Records had ceased to exist since then.

An article about Abi for those who aren't in her fan thread/don't view it:

"She then let the crowd know that she would be playing her own full concert at Acrisure Arena on July 27. The crowd roared their approval and she thanked them all. Tickets for that show go on sale Tuesday. She told the crowd that since winning American Idol she's been on a whirlwind tour, from New York to Nashville to the desert, back to Nashville with Minneapolis next week and Dallas after that."

clearly a lot more has been going on behind the scenes than we know!

We’re supposed to be super impressed that she’s flown to a few different cities? We already knew she was in NY and Nashville.

Good on her for booking the show for July, though.

Songs?

Single?

A gig?

Something!

Maybe she’s coming to Minneapolis for a vacation!

Blake Proehl has a show at the Fine Line coming up, but I’m not sure why she’d need to visit to book a show there. It might be songwriting, or something.

Maybe her and Blake eloped in Minnesota!

Now, that would be something.

I’m just saying if Blake can get a show at the Fine Line, maybe Abi can through Groundwork.

I’m not sure what the deal is, but Blake somehow parlayed his brief stint on the Vikings practice squad into a Minnesota fanbase for his music. He’ll probably sell that show out.

Oh and since you’re unimpressed with what’s been going on with Abi (except for her booking a show for July), I’d like to know how things are going with Will.

He’s booked and performed in a lot of shows, and has many more coming up? He also has much better Spotify numbers for their winner’s songs, which isn’t supposed to happen. You could have researched those things yourself.

I’m glad to see Abi booked a show in her area of residence, even though it’s low hanging fruit. I said as much last night.

I don’t know whether either of them will make it “big” tbh, and neither do you.

i dont think any alumni from the ABC era have headlined an arena show but i could be wrong?

The “biggest” act from ABC Idol is probably Gabby Barrett and not only has she not headlined an arena show, she’s never even had her own headlining tour. For whatever reason, even with her huge hits, she only toured as an opener.

If we are talking about one-off hometown shows, as opposed to a tour, I believe Maddie Poppe’s first show was in a minor-league baseball stadium and Iam has had a few big shows in Hawaii.

Booking a show at your home town right after winning isn't some super impressive feet or anything like that. Hopefully the show sells well and she continues to be able to do that else where but let's not act like she's the biggest star ever because she booked a show at home. :dead:

no one is acting like that? jesus christ lmfaooooo

y’all were obsessing over her “not booking any gigs” 2 days ago and writing essays about it so i think we’re entitled to be happy for her

I think it’s safe to say that most people are interested in whether she gets signed or it becomes clear that the label is taking a pass. All the other activity is white noise.

I think the heat is getting to stupid levels here...

Let Abi fans be happy damn. 😊

We know Will has a successful single and isn't lazy. Big deal. Woo. Yay.

If you guys are going to outright dismiss Abi and be critical of anything she does.

Maybe pick up a new hobby? 🤷‍♀️

We weren’t even talking about Will, until an Abi stan referenced him. Nobody here is interested in that topic now that the season is over, and fake scandals aren’t as exciting.

Nobody is interested...

In the stupid numbers game that always happens here?

Look I am happy Will has had success with his original music.

I am not the one putting people down.

It's like ABC winners are expected to do FOX AI numbers in sales or they are flops.

Again. Any news is good news. More Abi music is coming whether anyone here cares or not.

I hope this show sells out. If not it won't be a big deal. Imo

:dead: stan wars aside, people should be happy that a winner of American Idol is able to headline an arena show in 2024 (even if it's in her hometown). many other Idol contestants have never/will never reach that accomplishment - don't even get me started on The Voice alumni either lol.
