Ryan was the best of the night

1. Ryan - he nailed that, tbh.
2. Cami - tone + artistry + unique spin on a standard = easy high ranking.
3. Julia - we stan an indie queen here.
4. John - honestly, even though he's not my cup of tea, he did pretty well with this.
5. Larriah - she's so poised and would be a great pick for the 4-way KO win; however, she was a tad off at the start.
6. Marisa - a little wobbly but that second half was good.
7. Taryn - I hate that she's this low, but her voice sounded shot. Still love me some Queen T though.
8. Tanner - too "bro country" for me

1. Cami - She had the best balance of creativity and technical prowess tonight. I really liked that arrangement. A

 

2. Ryan - He did great, obviously. I just wanted a smidge more power from him on the high notes. I prefer his video on IG singing this lmao. A-

 

3. Julia - I really liked her song choice, but some parts felt a little iffy. Her head voice gives me life though. B+

 

4. Larriah - Like Julia, she also had some off moments. I liked Julia's song better though. B+

 

5. Marisa - She recovered very nicely by the end. Love her high notes. B+

 

6. Taryn - Reverse of Marisa. She started well but ended badly. That takes away the impact. B-

 

7. John H - Did not enjoy that at all. Not grading him because I'd be a fool to grade him low.

 

8. Tanner - C for Cringe.

1. Ryan - Gorgeous tone and hit all the notes he needed to. He sounded so much like Bocelli himself.

2. Cami - I love how she navigated that song (which I normally see as a screamfest), and her vibrato was amazingly well-placed.

3. Larriah - Pretty good, but some of the high notes felt a little off.

4. Julia - Also solid, I like what she does with her head voice.

5. Tanner - A very safe performance... but he did smoothly sing it. I was kinda bored by it halfway through.

6. John H - I love this song so I was hoping for a cleaner performance. When he goes high it sounds kinda unpleasant to my ears.

7. Taryn - She has a really warm tone and I think that would have been perfect for her song. But unfortunately I don't think she hit the high notes.

8. Marisa - I loved her on I Surrender, but she butchered the entire first half of this one. Her strong belts at the end couldn't salvage the start.

As for the 4-way, maybe, Jackson.  Ryan may be good, but I've never be able to like opera; although, I respect opera voices.

1. Marisa - I feel like I'm alone here, but even though it started off a little shaky, I thought it was overall a show-stopping performance. A
2. Cami - Extremely gorgeous and unique. This is the kind of thing that proves her artistry. A
3. Julia - And I don't even usually like her style of singing. I thought she did an extremely solid job. A-
4. Ryan - Gorgeous performance. I don't mind him too much, anyway, even if opera isn't 100% my style. He pretty much nailed it. A-
5. John - The big notes at the end were impressive. I didn't really feel the beginning all that much. B+
6. Larriah - She was my favorite out of the four going into the 4-Way KO. I feel like I'm the only one who found that performance to be pretty shaky with more than a few missed runs. The greatness was inconsistent. There were great moments. B
7. Taryn - Really disappointingly shaky. It's a hard song to sing, and I feel like she did her best to support it; like, the vocal chops were there, but it just didn't come together in the end. I don't think this was the route to go for such an important vote. C+
8. Tanner - I already found him to be the worst country singer left (on a season with really solid country talent). He showed that he had some personality, I guess? Vocally, it was underwhelming and completely uninspiring. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen, and I can think of a few understandable reasons why he won, even if I'll always disagree that he should have even gotten a single chair turn in Blinds. Not a fan. Never have been a fan, never will be one. C-

For what it's worth, I voted for Julia (10), Ryan (5), and Larriah (5). I would've given Ryan more, but... I mean, he's going to win without my help LOL

The 4-way KO was really good. The other 2 normal KOs, not so much.

 

1. Julia - I know she's pretty much doomed from the start with the song choice lol, but she was the best of the night for me. She's the indie girl that should have been guaranteed a spot instead of Cami, based on the performances tonight.

2. Ryan - He did great too, and is probably the winner of the KO. I just prefer Julia a little more, but I won't complain if he wins.

3. Larriah - Pretty solid, but she had some small pitch problems in there. She gave me Kennedy Holmes vibes, but not as polished. The song is kinda boring for me though.

4. Taryn - Props to her for picking a monster of a song. Did she deliver? Eh. There were some strong parts, but damn this song is like vocal suicide. I like her emotional delivery though.

 

5. Marisa - Even though she obviously deserved to win her KO based on track record, I can't really say she was robbed. The first half of the song was just weird and muddling. It's such an iconic song but I honestly couldn't tell where she was going with the melody or whether she had any direction at all. The big notes were impressive, but yeah they weren't enough to make me forget the first part.

6. Cami - I'm so bored with Cami already lol. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I did not enjoy this performance at all. It was just basically just her singing and dragging out some syllables and affectations at the end of almost every line, then predictably throwing in some head voice at some point. The song itself meandered around and didn't go anywhere. She's basically coasting on her tone.

 

7. Tanner - It sounded like a cringey bro-country number. Terrible song, average vocal. There's been a lot of country acts surviving the KO, some more justified than others. This was definitely the least justified.

 

8. John - He could hit all these notes and sing Celine's song in her key, which doesn't mean that he should. I kinda get how some would see this as impressive, but I just saw it as shrill and screechy. And the high notes were high, but they didn't sound powerful or comfortable at all. I think he was just too ambitious, he should have tried it several steps down so he could show off his lower range in the verse and still have plenty of room to hit big notes in the chorus.

1. Cami Clune - Ofc, talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, spectacular.

2. Julia Cooper - I'm not fan of hers (the fact that coaches' critique to her during the show was mostly that "she is cool" makes me kinda cringe) but this was honestly great.

3. Ryan Gallagher - Maybe I had bigger expectations or something, but it was underwhelming. I'm rooting for him to win the 4KO tho, cause he cute (jk, redeem Mandi T from last season pls)

4. John Holliday - I enjoyed it, but idk some of this high notes were too weird and I can't tell if it was intentional.

5. Larriah Jackson - It was good but nothing special, I will remember her for the battle not for this xD.

6. Taryn Papa - It's funny that she was frontrunner after her battle and now... She made an oopsie lol XD 

7. Marisa Corvo - no comment im too upset...

8. Tanner Gomes - His voice is like a weaker version of typical country guy XD... how tf is he still here? (Also his face looks like Caleb's from BB and Survivor so the only thing that distinguishes him for me is that stupid hat)
