Anyone remember the first voice performance you watched?

Recommended Posts

I have vague memories of seeing something in season 4-5 while I was high school age (which would be concurrent with the seasons occurring real-time), but I don't remember the specific performance off the top of my head. I've gone back and rewatched those seasons.

The first ones I know for sure I saw were season 12 - I want to say it was Chris Blue's KO, but again, it's fuzzy. I still wasn't super invested in the show at this point, but again, I went back and rewatched at a later date.

The first clear memory I have of the show is watching the audition of a friend of a friend in S16 that blew up - they're a contestant that was considered a front-runner, but failed to make it as far as they were expected to based just on the audition.

Season 3 was when I started watching it, but only the KO's started. I remember Cassadee and Amanda's KO performances and got hooked into it after AI was majorly flopping. And the rest is history. Although my very first performance I saw, I think was Bryan Keith's "Everything I Do I Do It For You"

Lol yeah, not a very good first performance, but that was made up with Amanda's "Paris Oh La La" later LOL.

I was flipping through channels and landed on an Amy Vachal performance (I dont remember which one but it was late in the season.)

It was legit love at first sight.

I vividly remember....I had just come from a party on the South Carolina campus where Hootie and the Blow Fish played REM's Loosing My Religion....I walk in and tell wifey "Hootie played Loosing My Religion".   5 minutes later the tv is on some show I'm not paying attention to but then some girl starts singing...Loosing My Religion.  It wasn't an exceptional performance but it got my attention.  I watched the rest of the show but not all that impressed until Vicci Martinez  closed with The Dog Days Are Over.

I started watching Season 3. I don't remember the first performance I watched, but I distinctly remember going, "Hey, I know that girl!" when I saw Cassadee's audition. I didn't watch a season fully until Season 5.
