Lauren was 100% robbed.  Yes, Chris was on another level, it was just several levels below Lauren. She sold more on the show and currently average streams are twice his even after all the work he did with Alicia post show.  I will go to my grave believing he was given a win to send Alicia away with a gift....just like they saved this "best vocalist" till all the other teams were filled up in the blinds.  The fix was on right from the start.

Back on topic... Deja Vu is the winner here.

honestly, I liked Chris, but I can totally see why people think Lauren should have won. I find the way you phrased this hilarious tho, thanks for the laugh 🤣

Chris was more charismatic but Lauren was more marketable - vocally, I prefer Lauren, but in terms of tickets to whose concert I'd enjoy watching more, I'd go with Chris (though Lauren's would still be fun).

And Deja Vu >>> everything else listed.

This! I totally love Chris because of the flavors he brings for every performances, Alicia hit the nail on the head with her song choices for him.

But I also love Lauren, either of them could win and I'd be happy. I prefer to listen to Lauren on albums, original songs, and stuffs, but I'd rather be on Chris' concert as he can provide something more exciting.

As much as I love Tennessee Rain by Addison, I'd still prefer Déja Vu by Lauren.

The feels and the message of the song was spot on, and her delivery is just magical. It is actually better than Chris' original song.

As a big fan of Lauren (I like her way better  than Chris), I don’t think she was robbed, at all. Chris just simply had more appeal for the viewers when it came to his performance skills, and that’s why I think he won (and the pimping he recieved obviously, that’s undeniable).

He wasn’t a bad singer either, even if I usually didn’t like his vocal choices. He was very consistent and he had his best performance at the finale with Rhythm Nation, and even if I prefered Deja Vu, I can see why people would vote Chris after that.

It surely was an upset, and not the outcome I personally wanted, but to say he robbed Lauren is a big stretch IMO. An example of a big robbery in the finale would be Kennedy placing 4th, because she outperformed every single one of her opponents and she still didn’t win. Lauren didn’t outperform Chris, they were totally different performers and they both deserved the win.

See....you have a subjective opinion that Kennedy had the best finals performance (I agree) and was robbed.   Lauren had objectively the best two finals performances (#1 AND # 2 on iTunes) but was not robbed.  Lauren also had a 350k to 500k lead in  accumulated iTune bonus' before the first vote was cast in the finals.  Was that 1% to 5% of the total filan vote?  I don't know the percentage but it's a big head start for a popular Team Blake member.  Blake went onstage in Nashville a few days after the finals and said the Vote was "Bull Sh*T".  Yep he said that about the show he works for.  With his contract...he couldn't say that....unless it was true.

We all know Lauren was robbed, "closest vote" my butt, Lauren SLAUGHTERED that finale and the sales/views showcase that. I bet even Alicia knew it was fixed, but didn't care. "Deja Vu" was literally the winning song, but it didn't give her the win. SMH

She had more sales but Chris was way ahead on casual votes and also Chris had a lot more views then her , everyone was saying Chris should win , but Lauren will win ( of course not on IDFs but on MJS , Tv line and You Tube ) due sales that's the reason it was the closest voting , sales VS casual votes . And if you say Lauren was robbed just because she had more sales then  why don't you say that Adam was robbed cz he had more sales than Alison .

And...if we’re going to focus on sales, we can’t really say Kennedy was robbed, because she was 4th in that metric. She had plenty of vocal fans on social media, but she never really caught on with the audience. The over the top pimping of her blind probably backfired, and while she had decent song choices, she didn’t really make them her own. Blake had two country finalists, and Chevel had an entire state watching and voting. Game over.

The Lauren situation was different. She sold more than the other finalists combined, for two weeks straight. Sales can be deceiving, but that result was quite an outlier.

So by that logic, Hoot was the deserving winner of S17 because he outperformed his opponents in the charts / sales / streams (IIRC). And I don’t think anyone in IDF was particularly happy about that result.

Exactly Sales isn't the only thing casual votes means alot . Alison also won based on casual votes .She was also good in sales but Adam had a little bit of lead over Alison , But Alison won because she was a better Performer and a much much better vocalist than him so that's why people thought she deserved the win . Same is the case with Chris and Lauren , Although Lauren was better in sales but Chris was a better Performer and a much much better vocalist than her so that's why people thought he deserved the win

Again, that's only your guess because you can't possibly know what the actual vote count was.... casual or otherwise.  Also,  Chris was never ahead on YT views until he was announced the winner and his YT was published everywhere announcing the win.  Lauren was well ahead on Facebook likes and Twitter mentions.   She was more popular then and she's more popular now.

Exactly! At this point, some people (not all ofc) are just trying to convince others that their tastes are wrong?

To get back on topic though, I voted for Tennessee Rain.

The big production in the pimp spot put Blue over the top. They tried to replicate that with Kennedy, but the country mafia has a good memory, and wasn’t about to let that happen again. 😉

What !!! Are you serious ??? All I remember Is that Chris was way ahead in views on ytube I started watching THE VOICE on Ytube since s15 and by that time Chris' audition had 10 millions views while Lauren's was 5.5 million views , Chris' battle had 4.3 million views while Lauren's battle had 2.2 million views . Chris' KO had 7.6 million views while Lauren's barely made million . Same is the case with other performances and you can tell who was a fan fav by looking at the like/dislike ratio . The video , in which Chris was announced as the winner , had 1.8 million views and it had 18k likes and only 756 dislikes

notice that YouTube views mean absolutely nothing in terms of votes; Rose had more votes than Jake on YT, yet she got 4th place.

Do you know why? YT has a younger audience, and they tend to shy away from country. Look to Facebook for an audience that is (unfortunately) more representative of voters. I don't know why you're getting so heated lmfao

I know ytube views count for nothing but I stated that only because +spurrious said Chris was never ahead of Lauren in ytube .

Imagine thinking Lauren only got sales. There were over 100k purchases only of her original if I'm not mistaken, most of those people voted as well. No logical explanation as to how she didn't win tbh

Spurrious was stating that Chris garnered more votes after he was voted winner, you yourself said you only started watching in S15, so I would take Spurrious' word over yours. It makes sense that the winner would get a lot of views after they win.

Honestly, I preferred Chris, and I didn't watch this season but I trust y'all that she should have won because I didn't watch the season and I don't see a point arguing about it. She was very good at connecting to songs too, and that's something I really appreciate in singers. I guess its good in a weird way she didn't win cause she wasn't stuck w/ the contract?

It’s worth noting that they make it clear that they can and will throw out votes as they see fit, for whatever reason.  I’m not saying that’s what happened in S12, but Team Blake is known for their massive Facebook powervoting groups. I’m sure NBC has the capability of tracking IP addresses, and if they see 10K votes come from the same household, they might just decide not to count them.

I remember reading this before, and that same post said that they also have a clause that they don't have to update the rules when they want to change things (iirc), so they could be doing even more shady things 😮

But for real you think that Chris would have 700-800k views on his ko ( cause Lauren's were almost 1million ) and all of a sudden after his win he reached up to 7.6 million . At the end of the day we all know views and likes count for nothing . And also in s12 there was iTunes bonus not Apple bonus . In Apple bonus only one artist is awarded and his/her votes are multiplied by 5 and I am sure if that was the case in s12 Lauren would've won . Itunes bonus is different anyone whose performance reached the top 10 will be awarded with the bonus and just so you know Chris and Lauren both had two songs under top 10 in the finale . Lauren had a lead over him in the previous rounds but Chris had more casual votes , that's why he won .

It's reasonable to base the casual vote on YT views and likes because Katie and Rose ended the Top 2 last season right
