blackfield
The lack of buzz of this last season is staggering when you realize the singles are not charting. Sam’s charted for a day before she disappeared from the chart and the only one on the chart is Dillon at #490.. Arthur doesn’t even have a single out! I know that. but why he didn't get his single like the others? i doubt it is clearance because he did the song already twice on the show. my guess is that HR didn't want to release it or promote him for some reason.. My guess is he is in talks with signing with Hollywood Records or another label. I highly doubt it's a clearance issue. It's not a clearance issue. HYNSTR had previously been released (and charted) by Phillip Phillips. That's when John Fogerty made his only Idol appearance. Arthur Gunn is likely in contract negotiations for a record deal.
blackfield
I wouldn't be so optimistic about a record deal. doubt they'll sign anyone but Sam. the lack of interest on this season is a sign for that. and to think this season started with such promise.. You mean Hollywood Records? There are other labels. Gabby Barrett, Laci Booth, got signed to non Idol labels. And it was reported that Catie Turner got some kind of deal with Atlantic Records. Arthur Gunn isn't less high profile than any of them. Edited June 1, 2020 by mytake1

American Idol hasn't been "buzzworthy" for years. The pandemic put a huge damper on the season; we literally had fewer total performances this year than seasons 4-7 and 9 had semifinal performances (also 12 if you count its "quarterfinals" and 15-17 if you count the celebrity duets). Count that up; that's 9 out of the 17 seasons that preceded this where we saw more live(ish) performances before we even had the Top 10/12 than we got from this entire season (not that they were really live, either.) blackfield
arthur gunn wrote a long post about this issue. he wanted his single out but for sone reason they didn't release it. he doesn't know why. he also said he is not signed or was offered any record deal. but he was approached to do a lot of live shows. hope this clears out. but kind of sad to hear. Why is this sad? Obviously, there is tons of interest for live shows and do collaborations. He said it's all very tempting and reminded him of when he played music for free. Of course, live shows will be harder at this time. But he can still work on the collaborations. No one cares about releasing cover music. And it doesn't mean Arthur won't get a record deal. Gabby, Alejandro, Laci weren't signed right away.

KelseyW
I bought Sam's (Haven't listened yet...) and Jonny's singles... Sucks that Arthur isn't getting one at the moment, but I'm not worried about it. Like others have said. Better horizons out there.
