These are the contestants that managed to outlast a lot of IDF´s favorites over the years and get to the finale , and as a result, got a LOT of hate for that, and some of the funniest meltdowns in history came because of them lol . So with that being said, even though you may hate them, rank them from best to worst.

PD: You can select multiple choices in the poll

For me:

1- Laith Al Saadi (One of my favorite contestants ever, partly because I´m a sucker for blues/rock music, a fantastic run throughout his season.)

2- Chris Kroeze (Liked him more for his guitar skills than his voice, but he was consistent throughout the season and I really enjoyed his performances tbh )

3- Jesse Larson (Same as Chris, he was pretty much the silent killer that season, and his performance with Adam in the finale remains one of my favorites)

4- Joshua Davis ( Classic storytelling voice, very Paul Simon esque, I understand he wasn´t as exciting as a lot of the flashier contestants that season like Kimberly ,India or Koryn, but he sure was interesting to watch/listen to. Kudos to him also for his self penned song in the finale.)

5- Dexter Roberts ( Clear tone, competent country singer, could sing live, the best one of the Team Blake reign in S16)

6- Jake Hoot ( His KO is one of the best in recent memory, and his Top 8 performance was fantastic as well. Wasn´t my pick to win the season, but I didn´t hate him)

7- Andrew Sevener( Was pretty much bussed at any chance he got, Blake putting him up against the Bundys, and TPTB making him go first nearly every time, but he still managed to improve and get to the finale. Not to mention he was a good live performer)

8- Craig Wayne Boyd (Didn´t hate him, didn´t love him, but he was consistent, and "The Old Rugged Cross" was pretty good. Still, I think Matt should have won that season )

9- Red Marlow ( I did prefer Noah throughout the season and wanted him in the finale, but Red wasn´t bad tbh, he wasn´t exciting at all, but he  did have some performances I enjoyed. Kudos also for writing his own song in the finale.)

10- Barrett Baber ( Started strong and had some good performances, but "Delta Dawn" and "Ghost" were abominations.)

11- Jake Worthington ( Only liked his Battle with Tess, but that´s it. I understood the appeal, but wasn´t a fan)

12- Gyth Rigdon ( Like his Blind and Battle, but he just wasn´t good live at all, his Top 8 and finale performances were some of the pitchiest I can remember, his voice was really thick and couldn´t handle many of the songs he was given. Rod and Shawn were way more deserving of his spot in my opinion.)

13- Josh Gallagher ( No excitement, barely any personality on stage, had  countless pitch issues as well. "Danny´s Song " was decent, but it didn´t warrant him a trip to the finale at all.)

Best: Laith Al-Saadi (He was who I was rooting for in S10 even though it was obviously Alisan's season from her blind)

Worst: Jake Worthington (Every other person on this list has at least one redeeming solo performance.)

Most of the singers on this list are pretty okay at least, but pretty much overstayed their welcome and eliminated much more competent singers/vocalists.

Also no reason we needed more than one of the country boys in the top 4 for Season 17 (Dexter > Andrew > Gyth btw)

Best: Jake Hoot (He’s got some really good performances like his battle, KO, semifinals and duet with Kelly. And his vocals were consistent for the most part too.)

Worst: Jake Worthington (His battle round with Tess was his best, and even so it was because of Tess carrying the battle. Otherwise, no other redeeming performances.)

TBH I like/don’t mind most of the people in this list, except for Jake W, Jesse, Josh G, and Dexter.

King Laith!

Honorable Mentions: Jesse Larson, Gyth (he was good during the first half of the season) and Andrew 7ner.

I'm not gonna say that the others were unworthy finalists but let's just say that their main strengths didn't involve singing prowess. 😂

These are some awful finalists lmao, always at least one every season, except S14 somehow! Bless Spensha, queen ended the undeserving finalists chain, and Britton won the Save(even if Foster deserved the 4th spot)

Huge kudos to Britton for not only beating Pryor and Britton in Instant Save, but also getting 2nd place as an Instant Save.

Anyway, I only started watching since S13 and I think Jake Hoot was the only one semi-deserving to make finale. I actually really liked some of his performances. His "Desperado" performance is the one that convinced me that he was going to win the show instead of Katie. (I'm not saying he deserved to win after that performance, I'm just saying if he wasn't already going to win at that point, that performance sealed the deal)

I hated Gyth and Chris, but I can't really say Chris was pitchy for most of the lives, just boring. Gyth was boring AND pitchy.

Britton only got 2nd as an instant save cause Kyla got bussed - it's not only song choice, which was wretched. she also got a literally plagiarized song

That bus was the heaviest I have seen.... Kyla got WRECKED. Blake tried lmao. "If You Don't Win, then this isn't the Voice!"

alas.... 3rd was her mark.

I was aware of that... It really was a shame they did Kyla so dirty. I actually thought she had a chance to win before the finals.

Liked the most: Hoot - unpopular opinion but I really like warm, smooth country voices (or more distinctive ones) and his win is one that I'm not mad at, just disappointed - I was hoping for Rose to break the Instant Save curse but it is what it is.

Dear heavens why: Gyth Rigdon - nasally country voices* make my eardrums bleed and he went downhill after his BA/battle; additionally, the "God Bless the USA" pandering was only saved from being the worst thing of the semifinals by the grace of Carter's "Take Me to Church" being the same week. Given the finale, I would've much, much preferred Dexter in the runner-up slot over him but Minivan likes what it likes.

*weirdly enough, I did kind of like Kirk of S15 despite the same nasally-ness, but I think part of why I didn't mind Kirk as much as Gyth was because TPTB found songs that worked with that tone rather than making it feel like the tone got forced onto the song, if that makes sense

Are you sure Kyla was bussed by TPTB? Maybe she bussed herself to prevent herself from getting that trash contract. :lmao:

Just look at her song choices. I don’t think she was winning anyways but they clearly didn’t want her to win
