American Idol S18 Ratings

Recommended Posts

Didn’t see a thread for this so I thought I’d start one.

The premiere of Season 18 earned a 1.5 demo rating and 8.1 million viewers, winning the night.

They’ll adjust up once DVR viewings are counted, but it’s comparable to last season’s 8.65 - especially considering last season premiered a month later.

American Idol (ABC) 1.35, 7.68

There’s no such rating as 1.35. It’s either 1.3 or 1.4. The final rating was 1.4 and 7.692 million viewers.

The second of American Idol's "This Is Me" behind-the-scenes episodes suffered a drop from last week's clip show, falling by 0.2 in adults 18-49 to a 0.8 rating and by about 6 percent in viewers to 5.46 million.

At least it’s not less than 1.0.  And it won the night.

I'm surprised.  But the numbers are legit.  The "Shelter-in-Placers" must be bored out of their skulls. I'm sheltering & bored and I couldn't even watch 10% of it.

Maybe you were bored out of your skull, but I doubt that every “Shelter-in-Placer” was bored out of their skulls!

American Idol drew 6.4 million viewers, up about 300,000 people vs. a week ago, and a season low 0.9 rating in adults 18-49.

bruh

The season low was the second clip show. It got a 0.8.

The hiatus doomed this season. I think it’ll remain fractional next week, then pick up for the finale because it’s the live coast to coast broadcast.

The two clip shows probably caused a lot of people to tune out and not be aware that the “live” shows were happening.

it's kinda crazy bc despite lower viewership, idol's abc-era has arguably launched 2 up and coming stars with gabby/alejandro from each of their 2 seasons

is idol's fanbase/viewers, though smaller, just that loyal? (gabby/alejandro are also veryyy different, so it's not like idol viewers are only backing certain contestants)
