It makes you wonder if there is a vetting process in place? Do they even dig on these queens past statements, etc... It is turning a season with lots of potential into a terrible season.

This is also the same network that let a guy who murdered his girlfriend on two of their reality shows even though he'd been jailed previously for assault, and then looked like a fool when they had to cancel both seasons after it'd already started airing one of them.

They do do background checks, but if no charges were filed against Sherry and nobody filed a police report against her, nothing would show up for them.

Brita has a post on her FB from 2018 talking about the allegations against her, but nothing was ever filed with that either. If she was worried they'd resurface, she could've mentioned it to casting, but since nothing came of it legally, they can't hold it against her since she's technically innocent until proven guilty.

That's true - I am more disappointed that the production nor the network have yet to acknowledge it or release a statement, regarding it (unless they did and I didn't notice it).

They haven't released a statement yet. I'd wager we'll probably get something tonight when the episode airs, whether a press released timed with it, or a disclaimer before the show starts. Vh1 and WOW probably have to go through several PR teams before they can release anything.

Wonder how they'll edit the rest of the season. If they can edit Shuga out of S11 for no good reason, they can edit Sherry out of S12.

Episode 2 ranking:

01. Jaida Essence Hall - Wow I've never stanned someone so quick after one episode. She was serving looks, she has such a calming presence in her confessionals, she was totally right about everything with the group challenge, and she ended the other one in the lip sync.

02. Jan BLEEP - "You're beautiful, you're perfect, you're just safe." I see the questionable judging from the past two seasons is still there.

03. Rock M. Sakura - I didn't get the judges hate for her verse at all. It's like they forgot they literally had half of the AS3 Top 5 challenge centre around a fart joke.

04. Aiden Zhane - Meh.

05. Dahlia Sin - Meh.

01. Rock M. Sakura - LOOOOOVE! She served some amazing looks and did amazing in the group challenge. Can’t wait to see more from her.

02. Sherry Pie - It’s a shame that she made the choices she did because she would’ve been a front runner after such a strong start!

02. Jan - She’s going to show us something different each week and I can’t wait. She was really good in the group challenge and I like her aesthetic.

03. Jaida Essence Hall - I haven’t entirely warmed to Jaida yet. She came across really negative And problematic in the choreography part. She served decent looks but she’s still got to work to do.

04. Dahlia Sin - Gorgeous! I have a feeling that she’s going to have a similar run to Aja.
05. Aiden - Her verse just came across as very copycat. Same hand gestures as Sasha, same look, same crawling. Didn’t impress me.

1. Jaida - she's someone I've been following for a while pre-Drag Race and she did not let me down  Great looks, entertaining, did great in the challenge and the lip-sync. I can see her going the distance and I can't wait.

2. Jan - deserved top 2, she seems really fun and I can't wait to see more of her.

3. Rock - she's super entertaining and I'm definitely curious to see what else she brings.

4. Aiden - I'm interested by her actually, she did better than I expected in the challenge. I'm interested to see where she goes from here though as I can see her being a bit one-note.

5. Dahlia - unfortunately over the first two weeks she was the clear weak link for me. She seemed out of place in that performance, I would imagine she would have been much more at home with the rap challenge so putting her in the Fosse challenge instead was messy :haha:

My ranking after the first two episodes:

1. Jaida Essence Hall - She did the damn thing. I know they were trying to give her the villain edit but she was right about everything. She turned looks every time she came out and she slayed in the challenge for someone who said choreography wasn't her strong suit and then topped it off with a lip-sync win to take down the real villain of the season. As Jan said, we have no choice but to stan!

2. Gigi Goode - So young, but so professional. Definitely my type of queen. Every one of her looks has been so polished and then for her to come out and slay her verse in the main challenge and put up a fight in the lip-sync? I'm hooked.

3. Jan - Another Cheryl/Alyssa clone? Count me in. I hope she doesn't get underrated because the judges critiques over her being TOO perfect were bs. Her runway look was the most creative and both of her mini challenges look were great too. She also slayed the main challenge. Definitely in the Top 2 last night over [redacted] for me.

4. Jackie Cox - She's so cute! In and out of drag! I love her 60's mod looks and she seems determined to push the boundaries a little and be different and I like that about her. I definitely think she's one to watch.

5. Rock M Sakura - You know I love my insecure Asian queens. I honestly don't know HOW the judges thought Rock deserved to be in the Bottom 2 this week. Sure, she relied on cheap fart humour, but that's literally what drag race is all about. And her the look she drew was stunning. I also liked her tulle look so idk what they're talking about.

6. Nicky Doll - I'm worried Nicky might get pegged as fodder so I'm trying not to get too invested but I loved her mini challenge looks. She clearly knows who she is and how to dress herself which is more than I can say about some of these queens.

7. Widow Von'Du - I truly did not get the praise the judges gave her for her mini challenge looks. I thought they were unshapely and kind of lumpy. But she turned it out in the main challenge and the lip-sync. A well deserved win, for sure.

8. Heidi N Closet - Oh Heidi. I can already tell she's going to be a bit of a mess this season and probably one of the first to go. She has potential though so she might be the one that gets cut early then brought back for an all-stars season after she's had a chance to find herself.

9. Crystal Methyd - Crystal would rank a lot lower if not for all the problematic queens this season. I just do not jive with her style of drag. Nothing she's done so far has impressed me and, in fact, I've hated most of the looks I've seen from her. To each their own.

10. Aiden Zhane - Of the problematic queens this season (and there's many), Aiden's looks are the ones I've liked the most so far and her verse in the main challenge was good. I don't always love her makeup though. It feels a little sparse and it can be off-putting at times.

11. Dalia Sin - Dalia would have likely been in the bottom last night if there was one and for good reason. She's also transphobic so I don't feel guilty ranking her this low.

12. Brita - Brita is another problematic queen. The allegations against her have yet to be proven, but besides that, I didn't love any of her looks in the first episode.

13. [redacted] - Besides just generally being scum, I didn't like much of what she did this week. Her rain cloud look was tragic and I don't know how the judges didn't call her out for it. Besides that, she also seemed controlling and overbearing. Not a fan, even if I could separate the controversy, which I probably won't be able to.

Rankings after episode 2 and rewatching episode 1:

1. Rock M Sakura - Is there a more adorable human being? The judges are officially off the rails, her runway look was exciting and her verse in the musical number was so much fun. Plus she is so likable in the confessionals. I wanted to give her a hug when she started crying and taking the blame for the rehearsal mishap.

2. (Just) Jan - The judges were so insufferable in episode 2, lol. It's almost like Ru was offended by her line of wanting to be the most mainstream queen so she unleashed the dogs on Jan :haha: She was fabulous and like Rock M, very likable throughout the whole episode. It's almost like the judges don't want to see a multi-talented, polished, confident queen do well because there isn't much for them to critique. So excited to see more from her.

3. Crystal Methyd - Clearly I'm not on the same page as the judges, lol. She's so much fun. She's like an even weirder Thorgy with a bit more self confidence? That's the energy I get from her, anyways. I hope she gives glam and fashion down the line to silence the judges but who knows.

4. Heidi N Closet - Also so much fun, her confessionals are by far my favorite. She screams lip sync assassin to me as well.

5. Jaida Essence Hall - Objectively, she dominated episode 1, and she seems like she's going to supply personality and drama as well which is sometimes lacking in polished pageant queens like Jaida. Super excited for her as well.

6. Jackie Cox - Another cutie out of drag, I'm really interested by her but I'm not quite sure if that's just because I think he's cute :haha: Her spring and fall fashion looks were by far the best thing about her during week one

7. Gigi Goode - I mean I guess I still really like her, she is clearly the young fashion forward queen this season who is probably going to do well...I just hope she stops talking about her mom making every single outfit of hers because then it's just gonna start feeling like Honey Boo Boo/Toddlers in Tiaras by the end of it, lol

8. Widow Von'Du - Don't love her style of drag, it seems a little messy to me, but she brought it in the performance and lipsync and seems like a fun personality so I ain't mad at her

9. Aiden Zhane - Fun and very unique, didn't bomb the challenge which tbh we all thought she was going to. I always love what she does from the shoulders up even if her outfits have been hit or miss for me so far. I like her but don't love her yet.

10. Nicky Doll - Idk, she just doesn't do it for me. I can't explain why other than I just don't get excited by her. #meh

11. Brita - I really want to like her but after seeing all the queens she doesn't really stand out. Even her big personality is eclipsed by other bigger personalities (Widow, Heidi, Rock etc). Maybe she'll grow on me? Again I want to like her and am here for the Polynesian representation, she also seems like a really successful staple of the NYC drag world, but yeah that doesn't always translate to doing well on Drag Race (also this is ignoring the personal allegation against her)

12. Dahlia Sin - Thank u, next. I get the same lack of self awareness that I've always gotten from Aja, but she has even less to offer than Aja imo. OOPS
