A lot of her songs could be described with the word nightmare such as New Americana and Bad at Love. This isn't quite as bad due to a decent chorus but I don't like the rest. 45. Lauren Daigle - “You Say:” Yessss Lauren Daigle, the Christian Adele as I like to think of her. Lauren sounds amazing and I love the message; I've always been a gospel/Christian music fan. 44. Ed Sheeran - “Beautiful People” (feat. Khalid): Well at least Ed is singing here rather than rapping like in most of the other "songs" on his latest album? It's ok but kind of forgettable. 43. Camila Cabello - “Liar:” Pretty good but I prefer Shameless. 42. Dean Lewis - “Be Alright:” Never heard of this song or this artist before but this was a pretty decent first listen. 41. Khalid - “Better:” Khalid is kind of hit-or-miss for me. This is good-ish but again kind of forgttable. - I knew you would find a way to add a pun in here for Halsey’s song here. But yay glad that you do think this has a decent chorus and that there is something you like about this. - Oooh wow the Christian Adele is a huge compliment there for Lauren Daigle. But I agree with the rest of your comments - this is a great song with a great message behind it. - Lol your Ed comments here. Aww I like his rapping type songs though that shouldn’t be surprising. I can get how you could find this forgettable. - BOY WHY YOU LIE? Earlier in the list when I posted Shameless, you said you preferred Liar. I don’t know what to believe. - Yayy glad you enjoyed this Dean Lewis song on first listen. Surprised you hadn’t heard it before. - Awww understandable on Khalid’s Better. *Wallace
40. Cardi B & Bruno Mars - “Please Me” Clean Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxvH3Gj3hO8 Cardi B & Bruno Mars collaboration of “Please Me” kicks off this set at #40. I remember there were some very bold predictions of this being my #1 favorite song of 2019 but….. that wasn’t quite the case there. :Teehee: Of course Cardi & Bruno SLAYED 2018 with their smash hit of “Finesse” so it was great for them to team up together once again on this track. I know they are both lead artists on this and Cardi’s name is first, but this song does feel like a Bruno song and something that would be on one of his albums. Anyway, this song has that classic 90s R&B slow jam feel to it which I AM TOTALLY HERE FOR. Bruno’s voice is flipping gold and I WILL NOT HERE OTHERWISE FROM THOMAS. I love who Bruno sings the chorus where he sings: Please me, baby. Turn around and just tease me, baby. You know what I want and what I need, baby. (Let me hear you say). Please (Let me hear you say). Please. His voice is just so smooth, and that is a fact. And I love how he belts out those “PLEASSEEE” parts too. I love Cardi on this song too and I got a couple fave lines from her. Some parts i love from here are where she raps: Lollipoppin' (Poppin'), twerkin' in some J's (Ooh) / Don't want no young dumb s**t. Better f**k me like we listenin' to Jodeci and then If you can't sweat the weave out, you shouldn't even be out. Of course I love her Ow’s in there. too. Ooh and I love how she sings the pre-chorus that goes: I'm gonna ride it, do it just how you like it. Tonight and after that. Let's do it one more time and then Bruno sings his line Girl, I ain't one for beggin', but now you got me beggin'. OMGG Cardi in the 2nd verse has me… :Dead: Omg Um, I don’t know what she says at the end when she’s talking about her lady parts…. but “basura” and “horchata.” I am scared to ask. Ooh I do love Bruno’s part on the bridge at 2:59 where he sings: Come on. Come on, back it up for me. Come on. Ooh, twerk it on me slowly and he is really belting it out and sanging there! LOL like those lyrics are far from romantic but why does the way he sing it make it sound romantic? I can’t. Anyway, I love it when Cardi and Bruno collaborate so I look forward to what they give us in 2020. 39. Ariana Grande & Social House - “Boyfriend” Clean Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTpfiw1i94I It has been quite awhile since Ariana Grande has shown up but here she is with her collaboration with Social House on “Boyfriend” at #39. Okay so I don’t think i heard of Social House before but welcome. I know I said tis about a number of songs on here, but “Boyfriend” is another one of those songs that has that classic 90s R&B feel to it, that I love. In fact this song gives me Brandy’s “Baby”/“I Wanna Be Down” and other songs from that era. Omgg at how Ariana starts this song off singing I'm a motherf***in' train wreck. I ~feel bad there but that line always gets to me. But what I do love about this sng is how this song has a ~harder beat to it and how it mashes well with Ariana’s sweet soft vocals. I do like how she sings the last part of the first verse especially where she sings: I don't wanna keep you waiting and But you ain't about to have no boo. OH SNAP at that last line. Then i also like the pre-chorus where she sings quite fast singing: 'Cause I know we be so complicated. But we be so smitten, it's crazy. I can't have what I want, but neither can you. And yesss I haven’t gotten to the chorus but I love that part too were she sings: You ain't my boyfriend (Boyfriend). And I ain't your girlfriend (Girlfriend). But you don't want me to see nobody else. And I don't want you to see nobody and well that whole part she sings. Social House is on the second part and i like his/their part. I never saw them before until now. But ok this guy (his name is Mikey, I see) has like this lazy slurring style to his singing but it works on this song. Okay I do love the part where he sings: Damn, baby, I'm a train wreck too (Too). I lose my mind when it comes to you and I know we'd be so complicated. Lovin' you sometimes drive me crazy. ‘Cause I can't have what I want and neither can you. Okay so the other guy of Social House is named Scootie and I like his part here too, especially at 2:01 where he sings: Stress high when the trust low (Mmm). Bad vibes, where'd the fun go? (Oh). Try to open up and love more (Love more). Try to open up and love more. He has a really nice voice and range there. Then I like how Scootie & Ariana sing together after that. Another great jam from Ariana! 38. Lil' Nas X - “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus) Now for the 2019 song you could NOT escape…. here comes Lil' Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’s “Old Town Road” coming in at #38. Oh my gosh, i have had the craziest and most rockiest relationship ever with this dang song. I went through THE WRINGER with this, you all. :deaD: OK so I believe I first heard this song in January and I was so confused by it and like “whatttt is this?” I didn’t get it at first. But then as all songs go, I grew to like and appreciate it. Then the song was such a huge hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with it being #1 for weeks and weeks. Then when it got 19 weeks at #1 breaking Mariah Carey’s & Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” record, I WAS LIVID and done for this song….. for a few weeks. I did get over it and started appreciating it once it wasn’t everywhere. It was one of those songs I would feel meh over, grow to really like, then get sick of it and then grow to love it and that crazy back and fowardness. I don’t even know if #40 is too high or too low for my thoughts on the song but for now, it’s at a good spot. Now I will focus on this song and my positive feelings for it. I love the crossover mix of country and rap on this song and feel it fuses the two genres well. I do really like the chorus and find it cool and catchy. And whoa how crazy is it having Billy Ray Cyrus on this? Yeah, I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road. I’m gonna ride 'til I can't no more. I’m gonna take my horse to the old town road. I’m gonna ride 'til I can't no more. So fun to sing along to. I really love the parts where Lil Nas X sings Can't nobody tell me nothin’. You can't tell me nothin’. That part and the chorus sticks out most to me. OMGGG his cowboy two step dancing at 0:42 cracks me THE HECK up. Then that girl slays him with her dancing afterwards. I also like where he sings: My life is a movie. Bull ridin' and boobies. Cowboy hat from Gucci. Wrangler on my booty, which wow I did not realize he was singing/rapping that there. But ok. And um, tell me why does Billy Ray kinda kill it here? I’m not really a fan of his musically speaking but i love what he brings here. Particularly the opening part where he sings: Hat down, cross town, livin' like a rock star. Spent a lot of money on my brand new guitar. I LOVE this part, no lie. Then I also like how he sings the last part of the verse: Got no stress, I've been through all that. I’m like a Marlboro Man so I kick on back. Wish I could roll on back to that old town road. I wanna ride 'til I can't no more. Sola better be proud of my Billy Ray props. I said a lot so I will close this out saying, I DO want to applaud Lil’ Nas X on all of his success wit this song and how huge he/this got where he came from nowhere. He’s really groundbreaking and a one of a kind artist so I wish him all the best. 37. Post Malone - “Circles” It has also been a long time since Post Malone hans shown up on this list and he does so at #37 with “Circles.” I remember hearing this song right away when it premiered in late August and I think it was on a radio premiere song event type of thing. I was definitely very surprised by the sound of this song, as it didn’t sound like a lot of Post Malone’s previous songs. This was more in the pop/rock/folk vein and I was very surprised and taken aback by the song. “Circles” was fine for what it was on first listen - but it was one of those songs that needed to grow on me and eventually it did do so. Heck, to this day I would say it is still growing on me. As I said, this song does have a pop/rock/folk feel to it and I hope it’s something more IDFers can like from Post but we’ll see. This song also reminds me a lot of some Fleetwood Mac sound / Niall Horan’s “On the Loose.” And in return, I believe he said this was his favorite song of 2019 (or wait, maybe that was Liam Payne). I do like how Post Malone showcases a softer more vulnerable side of himself on here. I like how that beat pumps when the song starts. Some parts I like from Post from the first verse where he sings: I'll be the bad guy now, but know I ain't too proud. I couldn't be there even when I try. Shout-out to Billie Eilish there. I do love the chorus of the song and find it really catchy where he sings: Seasons change and our love went cold. Feed the flame 'cause we can't let go. Run away, but we're running in circles. Run away, run away. I dare you to do something. I’m waiting on you again, so I don't take the blame. Run away, but we're running in circles. Run away, run away, run away. I like how he stretches out his vocals on those “I dare you to dooooo something, i’m waiting on youuuuu again” in particular - but the whole chorus is good. From the second verse I like where he sings: You thought that it was special, special. But it was just the sex though, the sex though (and oops, I never knew that was the second line there. :haha:) and I got a feeling that it's time to let it go, let it go. I also love the bridge of the song where he sings: Maybe you don't understand what I'm going through. It's only me, what you got to lose? Make up your mind, tell me, what are you gonna do? It's only me, let it go. The song does have a nice feel good vibe to it, even though lyrically it is quite the opposite, but I am glad this is still growing on me. Oh and the music video is quite interesting. 36. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - “Look Back At It” Song starts at 0:50 Clean Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5V-C6OZCSM A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is a new rapper, or well a rapper that had a breakthrough with the song, “Look Back At It” which lands at #36. He’s been around the music scene since 2016 but this was the first I heard of him - and his second appearance on here as he appeared on Ally Brooke’s “Lips Down Lie” awhile back. But yeah A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie made a great impression on me with “Look Back At It” because this song is a JAM! It kinda has a dark somber feel to it with its beat. I do love the chorus where he sings: Look back at it. She ain't never do this before, but she good at it. Said she never made love, but she good at it (she good at it). She make a feel good when I look at it (yeah). I get goosebumps when I look at it. Oh, girls just wanna have fun with it. Oh, the girls just wanna have fun with me (fun with me). These girls ain't really no good for me, yeah. Hmm I never reallly thought of or know what the song is about per se but it’s interesting. Then I also love those parts where he sings: Ddrat, da-da, da. Drdat, da-da-da, da. Don’t know what those sound effects are or mean but they are fun to sing along to. I also like the part that goes: Yeah, got a new Benz that I ain't promotin', yeah. All of my friends love money throw it. From the first verse, the parts that stands out to me are where he raps: The way I speak is a melody. Don't you ever think it's another me. Girl, on everything, it's a lot on me. I cannot be seen, I cannot be takin' apologies. Then I also love the part where he raps: Yeah, hoodie on low but I stay focused. Yeah, it's hard to stay low when everybody notice, yeah as it makes me want to put my hoodie on and feel hood. LOL NOT the right smiley to use when you want to come off as hood but oh well. Regardless I love this song, it's a jam and I'm happy to introduce you all to A Boogie wit Da Hoodie. 35. Taylor Swift - “ME!” (feat. Brendon Urie) Closing out this set is Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie’s collaboration of “ME!” at #35. Okay so it always feels like an event when Taylor Swift comes back into the music game with a brand new song/album and “ME!” was definitely that song that had all of the hype around it. I definitely heard about this song for awhile before it came out and I think my first time hearing about this was sometime on the news the Friday it came out. I heard lots of clips of the song before fully hearing the full song, which I believe I heard on the radio - either on that Friday or Saturday. I did think this was a really cute fun bubbly song, and I still think that. Although the reception I saw this song go through was crazy - lots of people (and namely some of her stans) were loving and so excited about this song at first and then they turned on it soo fast. It ~felt rejected right away, or when her follow-up single came out. Like so much so that I saw people calling this her worst song? It was so weird but I always really enjoyed the song. Sure it can be on the cheesy side but it’s a cute fun feel good song and I really like it, clearly. I actually never saw this music video in full before but wow that intro was so dramatic and then….. it gets into this happy song? Like at 0:46. She’s all sad and mad but then gets happy. WHAT Taylor? I do like how Taylor sings the line I know that I'm a handful baby, uh at the start of the first verse, as well as those (And there's a lot of cool chicks out there) parts she sings as ad-libs. Omgg her calling herself a psycho on the phone cracks me up. I do love the pre-chorus where she sings: But one of these things is not like the others. Like a rainbow with all of the colors. Baby doll, when it comes to a lover. I promise that you'll never find another like me-e-e-eh. The chorus is such fun catchy pop goodness where she sings: Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh. I’m the only one of me. Baby, that's the fun of me-e-eh. Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh. You're the only one of you. Baby, that's the fun of you. I do love those “me me meee, oh oh oooh” parts the most. I do like how Brendon joins in on the second verse and how he and Taylor sing together on the second verse. I do like how Brendon sings: But I will never bore you, baby. (And there's a lot of lame guys out there). But whoa, all this time I thought he was singing “But I will never call you, baby.” LOL oops. OMGG the bridge is my biggest guiltiest pleasure especially the part where they sing: Hey, kids! Spelling is fun! OMG it makes me cry. But MY PART…. is where Brendon sings And you can't spell "awesome" without "me" at 2:58. I just have to shout that part out loud whenever i hear it - when no one is around of course. AND YOU CAN’T SPELL AWESOME WITHOUT “ME.” Which is SO true. So please always think of me at that part. I do love how Taylor and Brendon sing the rest of the song together and all of their ad-libs are fun. Ooh Taylor sings my part at 3:41, but I don’t love it as much there. Sorry Taylor, you’re still great of course. But yeah this song is super fun and cute and I’m not ashamed to like it. 40. Cardi B & Bruno Mars - “Please Me:” 39. Ariana Grande & Social House - “Boyfriend:” 38. Lil' Nas X - “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus): 37. Post Malone - “Circles:” 36. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - “Look Back At It:” 35. Taylor Swift - “ME!” (feat. Brendon Urie): Clues for songs #34 through #29: - Something big and bouncy people can jump on - This singer is having some thoughts about a certain person she’s singing about. - Another song from an artist just posted in this set. - A multiple artist collaboration, where all of the artists are the same gender - even though only one of them has shown up on the list so far. - Another multi-artist collaboration but this song features two male artists and two female artists - with the male artists making their first appearances while the female artists have shown up here already. - Seems like this artist will not respond back to whoever she is singing about. miss denise
On 1/25/2020 at 9:35 AM, *Wallace said: - Ahh sorry about the confusion but yea this work while typing on my WordPad but ugh it didn’t work when I was posting this write-up and was messing up. Ugh. Oooh ga, darn. Thanks for telling me. omgggg I just want to know. - Oooooh ok thank you for this. Omggggg what the heck am I watching here? LOL he’s so extra here hahaah. But thanks for sharing. - Yess. Oooh awwww it’s okay. OMGGGG sooo what are you trying to say here? - :teehee: Yess you did and yea you were right. I am way too predictable. I am and I said that I was. Although wow me giving you flack for that song since I think that was my favorite from them. But awww of course I apologize and am sorry for hurting your feelings back then. Ah ok. I am ready now. - OMG LOL I forgot I said the slaps comment there and lmaoo I wanted to sound cool there soo that’s why. . - Oooh because that’s said in “Demons” too and that line always games me think of “Demons.” - I know you ooo, haha. Awww yeah same here. Well for me I felt like it did because I heard that song more often first and then I would hear Liar and ended up hearing tat one much more. - Workkk it at you guessing Dean Lewis’ Be Alright. I kinda did my clue to make you guess the Lewis Capaldi song, and thinking that you might have forgotten about this song but Denise sees through that! Ooooh these are very interesting thoughts you had on this song with where you first heard it you felt like you heard it several times. That’s sooo strange. Hmm maybe it’s in a similar vein of these acoustic singer/songwriter type songs - which can make you feel like that? Surprised it got old fast for you, as I thought you would have loved this more. But yayy glad you like some of the parts I listed and yay your favorite part is a good part there. Ooh yes I was surprised about that on the 2nd verse too. It was only one word but still surprising. - Ah no I don’t think “Better” was on my list last year - the main list, at least. I think it was on my Watch Out for section since this came out towards the end of 2018 but def heard it in 2019. Yeah he does have a mumbling tendency but yess it woks for Khalid - and can work with some people, like Sia too  Yayyy guesses! Hmmmm this is all veryyy interesting here. Loving all of the analyzing here. And omggg your bouncy excitement for my Top 40. Awww thanks. * blushes* - It was just the wording of that sentence. Sorry for the trouble. You're welcome. lol I already told you. - You're watching something hilarious. Calling him extra. You're welcome. I thought it was so funny. The ending specifically kills me! - Okay. I'm saying what I said and this can be discussed further later. - I just knew. Ah wow. I hope you at least like that one. Thank you for this. lolll okay. - You don't need to try to sound cool. - Huh? “this is my only fear" is said in Demons? I don't see it in the lyrics. https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/imaginedragons/demons.html - Okay, I don't ever remember hearing Shameless on the radio. - Thank you. I did think of that song, but thought it would be higher. I included it in case, but thought this one was more likely. Hm maybe because of other similiar songs, but I don't know. I do like this though. Yeah, never heard that... no clean version? They play one on radio. - Oh okay, thanks. I wouldn't say it works for him so much as he gets away with it, lol. Yayy. Yes, because instead of American Top 40, it's Wally's Top 40. 40. Cardi B & Bruno Mars - “Please Me:” lol I was joking when I posted this last year and said whatever about your #1. I seriously thought it about Finesse, but not this. They didn't waste any time collaborating again though. I love the feel and vibe of this too, and of course agree about Bruno's vocals! He's amazing. It's past time for more new music from him, I say. Love the parts you named. Oooh these Cardi lyrics... wow. The ow's are my least favorite, but seeing some of these words are yikes. I still like her delivery and the sound, and it's fun how her and Bruno go together. What about "her lady parts" though? I don't know anything about this, and okay, it becomes more clearly looking at the explicit lyrics. But still not. Anyway, I just love the vibe of this and Bruno's vocals a lot. I feel the same on the bridge part you named. You think they'll release another song together this year? 39. Ariana Grande & Social House - “Boyfriend:” I don't know who Social House is either. I feel this song kind of went unnoticed by me and was maybe bigger than I know of. Hmm. Interesting with the comparison. I feel like this is a grower for me and I like it more with each listen. I'm not sure what I like about best about it, but like the parts you mentioned. I like some of these lyrics. 38. Lil' Nas X - “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus): I thought you always loved this and didn't know about all this drama with you and this song. Oh wow. Wow. I don't remember when I first heard this song, but I do remember I had just got home and was in my parking spot hearing this on the radio... I thought he was saying "I'm gonna take my horse to the hotel room" or something. I searched that lyric and it seems other people had done the same. But I was trying to find out what the song was and was not impressed. I didn't like this for awhile, but it did randomly grow on me and now I kinda like it and get the ness of it. Aww One Sweet Day. Did not know about that. I did know about Billy Ray Cyrus being on this, but.... never heard this version at all. Why wasn't this on radio? I only heard the solo and I guess thought Billy was just on guitar or something. Wow those lyrics you quoted that you didn't know about. Yeah wow. Okay then. I think Billy sounds great too and of course it's my first time hearing his part. This is cool. Oh and so is he considered a country hip-hop artist? Also, this cracks me up. 37. Post Malone - “Circles:” "It has also been a long time since Post Malone hans shown up" I think I was surprised hearing this too since it was different from what I'm used to from him, but I like it a lot. Interesting comparisons to those songs... I don't really get the folk thing, but I guess it makes more sense with the examples, hmm. Wow the song still growing on you though. Wow. Niall or Liam said this is their favorite song of the year? I see. I like the beat and all you mentioned. I don't feel like there is actually a Billie shout out there? But I see. Yes, the chorus, the way he extended those parts, and the second verse part you named! My favorites. You didn't know he said that one lyric though? I always heard it. Hmm. 36. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - “Look Back At It:” Oh, I didn't know he's a new rapper. I never would have guessed. I never heard of this song or heard it before. I kind of like the dark vibe of this. Wow those lyrics. I would think it's clear what he's talking about. The "drat" parts are kind of fun. This isn't really my favorite, but it's okay for me on first listen. 35. Taylor Swift - “ME!” (feat. Brendon Urie): Yes, it is always a huge event when Taylor has new music. I remember the days when this was coming. I remember the premiere with the music video, but you weren't a part of that, I see. Yes, what you said about the fans here is exactly what I talked about earlier. It's really annoying. This is so fun, positive, happy, and everything. I love the video and watched it in full several times. omg and I quoted parts of this video to you before and used the gifs, so wow you not having even seen it. The chorus is the best and I love how infectious it is. Also love that she collaborated with Brendon in this and it works really well. Wow your misheard lyric. That wouldn't go with the spirit of the song. Ugh, I feel this song was gone too soon because of how soon they released the next single and it just disappeared after all the hype. Not cool. I love all these parts, but actually love that part more from Taylor. But it's all so joyful. - Something big and bouncy people can jump on: Shaed - Trampoline - This singer is having some thoughts about a certain person she’s singing about: Ciara - Thinkin Bout You - Another song from an artist just posted in this set: Ariana Grande - thank u next, 7 rings, break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored, Post Malone - Sunflower or Wow., or Taylor Swift - You Need to Calm Down. Mabel - Don't Call Me Up. - Oooh awww okay. Awww nooo no need to apologize. It’s all okay. Thank you for that. - Lol awww. Lol It’s nothing bad about me saying that lol. It was funny and omggg lol awwwww. - Okay….. go on and discuss, please. - Oooh lol you did. Ahh yeah I did like that one. Awwww no problem. - OK. That’s because I am cool. - I heard “this is my kingdom come” on there….. so I don’t know what’s going on there. :ermm: - Aww I see. I heard Shameless on the radio for a litle while. - Ooooh ok, ok i seee I seee. hmmm I can’t comment yet but you’ll find out within time. Ah yeah I see and can get that now that you brought that up. Yay that’s good. Huhh? Lol yeah I know they play the song on the radio without the swear in there but I didn’t catch it until doing my write-up lol. - You’re welcome. Oooh….. well I don’t know what to say now. OMGGG LOLOL you saying this at Wally’s Top 40. Oh gosh, you’re too sweet for that but thanks! - Oooh lmaoo i know you were but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some seriousness abut that. But i know you thought this with Finesse. Yes they wasted no time in collaborating again, haha. Yayy for loving the vibe of this and Bruno’s voicals on this. OH SNAP, if Denisey says it’s time for new Bruno music….. then the jury has spoken, it’s time for new Bruno music. Hopefuly that comes this year. LOL oooooo surprised that the ow’s are your least favorite parts - compared to some of the lyrics, but awww I love those. But at least you like Cardi’s delivery on the track. But yes I love the back and forth vocals from the two of them. LOLOL I’m not gonna say the words….. but she says it lmao. OK nowww you get it haha. But ok yayy for the love you have here for what you said here. THEY BETTER! Although January is almost over and their last duets came out in January so i am not too hopefull. - Lmaoo same on the Social House comment. Oooh boyfriend was unnoticed by you? Oooh interesting. The song did well although wasn’t as huge as some of her other songs. Yeah this gives me that 90s R&B feel which is always a good thing. Ah yeah I get you on how this song is more of a grower type. Yay for liking the pats I mention and ooooo curious which lyrics you did like most here. - Oooooh you did? Ah I seee, but yeah I had A LOT of feelings regarding Old Town Road. Ooh i did have moments of loving this soooo you would be right there. Lmaooo your wow’ness. I love itt haha. OMGGG your story of your earliest memory hearing this and how you or what you thought he was saying here. OMGG whatttt? Other people thought he was singing the same thing? LMAOOO tat is soooo hilarious. Omggg you was not impressed by trying to find out what the song was? Omggg yeah I thought this was a song you didn’t like but omgg wow it randomly grew on you and you got to kinda like it? I did not know this. Yayynesss! :w00t: Ugh yeah I was not here for this beating OSD’s record. Ugh. Oooh whoa you never heard the version with Billy Ray on it? It’s weird because I sometimes heard the version with Billy Ray on it and other times I heard the solo version. But the Billy Ray version if the remix (of the many million different versions). Oooh lmaoooo yeah I didn’t know of quite a lot of what was being said haha. omggg wow so hearing it on here was the first time you heard Billy Ray’s part? Hmmmmm I don’t know. This song classifies him as hip-hop/country but not sure if he’s that in general. Ooh lol you posting this. Was there anything specific you were referring to here? - LMAOO I meant “has” there. Mhmmm yeah Circles definitely tripped me out from when i first heard it but glad that you did like this right away and probably quicker than I did ahha. Hoping you can get my songs comparisons despite not with the folk thing. I don’t think it’s like legit folk but has that ~…. I don’t even. Oooh I think that was from what I wrote from late December but yeah it was still growing on me then although not so much now. Yeah I saw an interview where one of them said that but forgot who. Yayy for liking the beat. Ooh maybe not intentionally but I always think of that song at that part. Yesss glad we share some of the same favorite parts. I love it! :w00t: Nope, i didn’t haha. -Well A Boogie wit Da Hoodie is new to me but i think i saw he’s been around since 2016? So new’ish? Hmmmmm I’m ~a little surprised you hadn’t heard of or heard this before though. I would have thought you’d stumble upon hearing this on AT40. Oooh yay for kinda liking the dark feel of this. Oooh hmmmm, maybe it is. Oooh yay for finding the drat drat parts fun. Awww okay but at least it’s ok rather than disliking this on first listen. - Awww I understand that. Omggg awww I love your comments here and not surprised you remember the days of leading up to the song and video and all that you were apart of. :teehee: Aww no I wasn’t entirely but I was aware of some of the things going on. Ahh yeah I know we talked a bit about that and wanted to talk more about it here since…. it was about ME! And yeah I didn’t get that and get how that would annoy you. Agree with you that this is a fun positive happy sounding song. Aww I am not surprised you watched the video sooo much either. Oooh wait you have? I don’t remember but I am not surprised that you did that. Omgg you with this gif haha. Aww yeah the chorus is really cute and fun. And agree with your comments on the collabo here working well. Lol oops, sometimes I mishear stuff wrong a lot. Ahh yeah true. Ugh yeah I felt that same way with how quickly tis song went away. It was all so strange. Yayy for loving those parts. Oooh I see, I get that and do think she sounds cute there. It is! YAYYY Denise guesses here!! Someee veryy interesting guesses. :shifty:

That's not neccessairly the case and there's a whole process to it. There's a number of songs that can come out in years prior but if I hear them a lot or more in 2019 than prior years then it will be eligible. Cause a song released say in November 2018 would still be fairly new for a 2018 list whereas it can grow on me and do better in a 2019 list. Then there's the whole songs crossing over situation too. Taylor Swift - “Lover:” I do love this song; one of my favourite of hers. I do like the Shawn Mendes' duet but I prefer the first dance remix. 56. Sam Smith - “How Do You Sleep?:” I like Sam's voice and vibe on this song. But not my favourite. 55. Blanco Brown - “The Git Up:” With this appearing, I have a feeling "Old Town Road" will be in your Top 10... I don't get the appeal for this song beside being a meme song. 54. NF - “Time:” It's okay 53. The Chainsmokers - “This Feeling” (feat. Kelsea Ballerini): Don't care for The Chainsmokers but like Kelsea... An okay song - Lol cute pun. I expected that though. - Glad you love Taylor's Lover. Ooh I don't remember teh first dance remix that well but with you mentioning it, I kinda remember it. - I'm in agreement with you regarding Sam's HDYS - Ooooh hmmmmm. :shifty: Ahh yeah TGI is a good meme song buut that's part of its appeal and it's a fun enjoyable song. - That's fair on the comments of these last two songs. 1 hour ago, *Chris said: 52. Megan Thee Stallion - “Hot Girl Summer” (feat. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign): One of the worst song of the year... Sorry Wally! 51. Daddy Yankee - “Con Calma [Remix]” (feat. Katy Perry & Snow): Meh. 50. Dan + Shay - “Tequila:” Hilarious that this is on a 2019 list; it's very 2018 for me. And I absolutely love it - it would have been in the top 10 of 2018 for me. 49. Katy Perry - “Never Really Over:” One of Katy's best in years. 48. The Chainsmokers - “Who Do You Love” (feat. 5 Seconds Of Summer): eh... 47. Jonas Brothers - “Cool:” Don't care for this song. 46. Halsey - “Nightmare:” Yeah, she got one thing right - her songs tend to give me nightmare. 45. Lauren Daigle - “You Say:” Another song that is more 2018 than 2019, but I did listen to it alot in 2019. I absolutely love her voice and this song; so glad that she has all the success in the world. 44. Ed Sheeran - “Beautiful People” (feat. Khalid): Not for me. 43. Camila Cabello - “Liar:” Not a bad song. 42. Dean Lewis - “Be Alright:” Decent but not memorable 41. Khalid - “Better:” I enjoyed it but not enough to add to a playlist - Lol yikes, ouch there Obviously i knew this wouldn't appeal ot you so i get it. - Aww ok. - Ah yeah I know Tequila is 2018 for more of teh country music listeners/followers. I got into it when it crossed-over to pop in 2019. But wow nice that this would have been in your Top 10 of 2018 - that happened with Denise and Tom. - Agreed. - Bummer you don't care much for WDYL or Cool. - Lol again not surprised you would make his joke. - Understandable but yeah I got into this song into 2019. Glad you love Lauren's voice and this song. Hoping she does well outside of this song. - Awww bummer. - I'll take that haha. - Understandable. - Ahhh that's a fair comment regarding Better. Thank you sooo much for your catch up comments!

*Chris
40. Cardi B & Bruno Mars - “Please Me:” Two artists that I can't stand. If they truly want to "please me", can they please stop making terrible music? (edit: can they please stop making music, in general?) 39. Ariana Grande & Social House - “Boyfriend:” Not my favourite of Ariana but still decent. 38. Lil' Nas X - “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus): Surprise this ain't in your top 10 as you love everything that is mainstream . The song is catchy but do not care for it; but the records it broke is quite impressive. At least he dethrone the overbearing diva from her record 37. Post Malone - “Circles:” Ew. 36. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - “Look Back At It:” What kind of name is that? That name is a CHOICE. And the song? It's also a choice to include it on a list. 35. Taylor Swift - “ME!” (feat. Brendon Urie): Was obsessed with this when it came out; loved the feel of it & Brendon's cameo. The video is epic; it ended up being one of my top played song of the year on Spotify, if you know what that is! ~Tom~
40. Cardi B & Bruno Mars - “Please Me:” Well at least it isn't #1? #lowstandards BrUnO and Cardi, Please Me and don't release any more songs like this. Better yet BruNO, don't release any more songs, period. 39. Ariana Grande & Social House - “Boyfriend:” Eh. Like a lot of her its this is just ok for me. 38. Lil' Nas X - “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus): It's catchy but I still dislike it because it's continuing the trend of combining country and other genres. At least it broke the Overbeaing Diva and Borez II Men's record. 37. Post Malone - “Circles:” Well I prefer this style on him to his "rapping" so I can admt it's not bad but I still ain't a fan and never will be. 36. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie - “Look Back At It:” Ew, is he going to be my newest object of shade next year? Hard pass. 35. Taylor Swift - “ME!” (feat. Brendon Urie): It's definitely one of Taylor's better songs of this era! Still not really a fan though. Edited January 28, 2020 by ~Tom~
