10 OF THE BEST DEEP VOICES IN COUNTRY

Scotty McCreery

Newer to the scene, North Carolina-born Scotty McCreery got his industry start in 2011 after winning the 10th season of American Idol. Since then, he’s enjoyed a successful career as a country singer-songwriter – he even became a Grand Ole Opry member earlier this year – thanks largely to his smooth, deep vocals. Fitting in perfectly with the modern Nashville sound, McCreery’s most recent single, “Cab in a Solo,” showcases this young country star’s keen skill as a baritone crooner.

BMI Artist Scotty McCreery Celebrates Milestones at “Cab In A Solo” No. One Party

BMI celebrated the success behind Triple Tigers Records’ Scotty McCreery’s sixth No. One single “Cab In A Solo” on Wednesday, July 31. Joined by co-writer Brent Anderson, co-writer and producer Frank Rogers, and producers Aaron Eshuis and Derek Wells, the Nashville music community gathered in the lobby of BMI’s Nashville office to honor the song.

Hosted by BMI and ASCAP and emceed by BMI’s MaryAnn Keen, the recent Grand Ole Opry inductee took the stage with the songwriters to share remarks and discuss the song’s creation. Sponsored by Studio Bank, Kari Barnhart made a special donation presentation on behalf of the writers in support of the Opry Trust Fund, whose mission is to help those in the country music industry when they need it the most by offering financial assistance.

The afternoon concluded when Keen surprised McCreery with seven BMI Million-Air Awards, certificates given to songwriters whose works have achieved the rare feat of surpassing one million broadcast performances on U.S. radio. McCreery’s hits have garnered over 11 million cumulative performances from the BMI award-winning songs “This Is It” (3 million), “In Between” (2 million), “See You Tonight” (2 million), and “You Time” (1 million). Other songs awarded were the triple-Platinum “Five More Minutes” (2 million) and the 2024 CMT Digital-First Performance award-winning song “It Matters To Her” (1 million).

Extremely proud of my hunny @brentandersonmusic and everyone pictured. And I’m so thankful for @scottymccreery and his entire team + @spiritmusicnashville & @fluidmusicrevolution
You all have literally changed our lives and we are forever grateful.

Brent has worked so hard for over 20 years in this business. I’m thankful to have been here to witness 11 of those years 🥹
One of the things that I love about Brent is his tenacity.
Last night, we celebrated his #1. All last week he has been busy at work in his studio producing, this morning at 4am he woke up to head out on yet another writing retreat, the man is busting his butt more so now than he ever has, even with his continued success. Not to mention that I’m so thankful he has a solid team like @spiritmusicnashville @fluidmusicrevolution behind him and @ascap to cheer him on.
My favorite part of the night, not pictured, was when @maryannleasekeen made him tear up at Hall’s 🥹
My heart is just full because this entire town is finally seeing and recognizing @brentandersonmusic for the true all around talent that he is 🥲
With how proud I am, I can’t imagine how proud his mom and dad are🖤
    Love you babe @brentandersonmusic
