I do and I am. 🙂 I don't really have a prediction on how it's going to go either. I think it'll be close and could still go either way.

It does look like a toss-up right now. My gut says Kennedy will pull it out because of his name.

Most of the looting started after their peaceful protests were met with police force. There have also been a plethora videos showing it isn’t the protestors. There also also hundreds of photos of whit

Biden winning states he didn’t even visit or advertise in, a week after his campaign was seemingly on life support, is a wholesale rejection of Bernie Sanders and his Socialist policies.

Speaking of Jimmy Dore a great take

"For people with money and connections smoking pot has always been, effectively, legal. Its only for poor people in minorities that we throw in jail"

And for the record ive smoked a total of once in my life. Im more of a drinker.

Give me some more Kim Klacik. I know it’s an uphill battle to win that district, but I want her on a national ticket in the near future. If she loses, she will probably be offered a TV deal that will be too good to pass up, and the Democratic Party will breathe a sigh of relief.

I think MN was close last year too but Biden needs to distance himself from the defund the police crowd. Or explain what his plans are in a better way. Which policy is not his strong suit so...

You’re right. Clinton’s margin was only 1.52%. A Republican hasn’t carried the state since 1972. However, you touched on something that could make a difference. The only people who want to defund, or “abolish” the police, or are radicals, not people who actually live in the neighborhoods who need them the most. Unfortunately, that includes the entire Minneapolis City Council. It will never happen, and they didn’t gain any politics points for their stunt.

This map tells the story. See that blue area in the NE part of the state? That’s the difference. It is mostly rural, other than Duluth. If that ever flips, it will be a purple to red state. Those are union voters, from families who’ve voted Democrat for generations. They don’t want to hear about defunding the police.

I'll probably only watch the final night live, but otherwise will just read recaps. They don't have that many folks speaking this time.

I don't think folks should be taken in by this as it's clearly a fear-mongering tactic, but those also tend to have some success. Biden needs to come out and be clear, even though usually when people say 'defund,' they seem redirect to other places as not all communities are identical and require the same level of physical police presence. Could be wrong, but since the major candidates haven't really provided us many details...

The Minneapolis City Council unanimously voted to “Abolish” the police department and replace it with something else. That’s not “redirecting” funds elsewhere. I specifically brought up Minnesota, and I can assure you those Iron Range Democrats I mentioned are not liberals. I was born in Duluth, and lived on the Iron Range for a while, so I know the people (including family). When I said most of my family votes Democrat despite being very conservative, this is who I was talking about. It’s multi-generational Union voting. Most of those people up there are actually rednecks, and the big city liberals are clueless, and take their votes for granted. Other areas, like NYC, are cutting the police budget substantially, which will likely mean fewer cops in the street. Making light of that is not “fear mongering.”

Wow, right on cue...the Democrat mayor of Eveleth, MN is speaking now. He’s supporting Trump. Eveleth is in the area of MN I was talking about earlier...the Iron Range. That took some courage, but there are probably a lot more of him up there than we realize. It’s no coincidence that they brought him in to speak.

I was speaking more broadly really based on my own experience. You and I both know that while Biden isn't our first choice to run the country, he hasn't seriously put this forth as a proposal. Folks that are more progressive have. There's also no one size fits all solution when it comes to this as communities are different. The idea that depending on the needs of the community, some resources could be redirected isn't all that radical.

Yikes..

This is the defense the police are trying to use.

Two autopsies confirmed it was a homocide.

And..you know..it's on video.

Stop trying to make what cops do okay. You can think the police shouldn't be defunded and also think there is a systemic issue of police violence against minority communities given the significant evidence.

Also..when are we going to talk about the dangers of right win propaganda.

How did I say what the cops did was OK??? I’m referring to the difficulties this adds to prosecuting the case. You of all people know this. Get a grip.

If they get acquitted, we’ll have more burning buildings and anarchy in an area I have to go to almost every day. So...yes, that’s a yikes too.

What does everyone think of the RNC so far? I've been a day behind each time because I broke one of my remotes and can't switch inputs on the TV (tmi, lol). Melania's speech was my absolute favorite so far, struck the right tone.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Never let a crisis go to waste?” Of course you have. I understand why many Democrats have talking points around this, and would prefer to talk about something else.

As for Biden...let’s get real, he isn’t going to be running anything.

Murder suspect commits suicide in downtown Minneapolis. Rumor is spread that cops killed him, so they decided it would be a good idea to loot the stores. This is happening as we speak, and seems to be escalating. The PD released this video. We’ll see if the Democrat Mayor and Governor do better this time, or whether they’ll surrender again. These are higher end stores...not in the “hood,” like last time.

Unreal. It might be time to move to a more remote area. Any more room up in Canada?  🤔

I could have chosen any one of hundreds of tweets. This account does a good job of getting stuff out quickly.

true, but still no reason to put his knee on him for that long, no way they should be aquiited.  the violence does need to stop though, even victims familes always call for peace and peaceful protests.

I don't fully buy the "Biden is mentally shot" argument. Yeah, dude is old. I'm actually a registered Independent who has mostly voted Republican. I do agree that fringe elements of the Democratic Party have kind of controlled the narrative at times, but some folks on the other side are only too eager to say they're one in the same. If Biden wants to win, he's going to have to speak to people's fears about this. He did come out and strongly condemn the violence yesterday as you probably know, but he needs to more clearly define his position on defund. Of course, many people won't vote for him anyway and aren't persuadable. I don't know how anyone can say he's a blank canvass when he has a career spanning like a half century. Progressive folks are about to be disappointed again, but the other side is obviously going to use their rhetoric against the nominee even if it's unfair.

It goes much deeper than the “defund” movement. It’s about the party who’s been in control of these big cities for decades. What we’re seeing in Minneapolis, and all across America didn’t just happen overnight. Maybe it’s time for inner-city voters to consider a different approach. I’ll let Kim explain it again.
