They can also work with Congress (DOGE will be getting a House Oversight subcommittee); encourage Speaker Johnson to take up the bill passed by the Senate a couple of years ago. The Sunshine Protection Act was sponsored by Senator Rubio (R-FL) in 2021. I would think that getting rid of the twice a year time change would have majority support from Americans, regardless of political parties or ideologies. Edited December 4, 2024 by season1 2

Some of the lines might be worth redrawing as well. The areas near the edges of the time zones may prefer to go into an adjacent time zone instead. For example, states like Indiana and (at least part of) Michigan might want to go into Central Time instead to make sunrises earlier in the winter, while Maine might prefer going into Atlantic Time (and eastern Washington into Mountain Time) to avoid sunsets before 4 pm at this time of year. 1

I suppose there are good arguments to end it, but it’s pretty far down my list of priorities. 1
TeamAudra Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hegseth nearing DOA status if he isn’t already there. Didn’t he know these things would come to light? Apparently, the Trump people were caught off guard by the 2017 incident. Now, they’re floating DeSantis’ name for replacement. I’m sure he’d be a good choice, but I’m guessing he’d prefer to keep the job he has.

It would be nice to quit adjusting clocks every 6 months. It will be interesting to see how DOGE would work with the different government agencies to cut government waste and fraud. The DOGE X account has been posting about the areas that will be targeted. https://x.com/doge Full text of the post: America once prided itself in building great projects; now, those projects are hampered by bureaucracy and overregulation. -It will have taken almost 25 years to permit and construct The Gross Reservoir expansion project in Colorado, expected to be completed in 2027. -It took almost 20 years to permit the Kensington gold mine in Alaska. -It took four years to construct a new runway at Seattle -Tacoma International Airport, but it took 15 years to get the permits -It took Shell seven years and $7 billion to get the federal government’s permission to drill a single oil-exploration well off the coast of Alaska. -It took 17 years to receive a permit for the SunZia energy project in the Western US. - It took more than 40 years to permit the Cooper Landing Bypass project, a 15 mile highway project in Alaska. -New U.S. highway construction projects usually take between nine and 19 years from initial planning and permitting to completion of construction. sneaky Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 These people gleeful about the United health CEO being murdered. Like yes insurance is frustrating. But people already bitch about the cost of insurance. If everything was covered no deductible no co pay then no one could afford insurance. We could do a universal healthcare system although the country's too big it would probably have to broken down by region. But Americans are all me, me, me, me like opera singers they will bitch about the tax increase and revolt. I dont know I just dont understand people nowadays 1

Hamza Tufail Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 A recent poll showed only 17% Americans approve of Pete hegseth. I think DeSantis is the best gov in the states, but being the head of the most powerful and important military in the world is that one job I wouldn't mind him doing. 1
Jonathan Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I don't think ole Ron will be happy with Trump getting rid of Daylight Savings. Summer tourism is his top moneymaker and that would really be bad for the beaches and parks. It would be bad for all the Southern states, who all voted for him! Yeah we're getting a blue tsunami in 2026 and 28. 1

That’s a lot. I doubt Ron is interested. 2
Jonathan Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 If we had to have a Republican President, it should have been Ron. Plain and simple. 2
Jonathan Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Fuuuck those 2 evil men and I hope they both burn in hell in agony in the hottest part if there is a hell! They need to suffer the way these children are. They are the ones who deserve it!
