Maybe after seeing that trump rally and so called jokes if there still is any it will get undecided or independent voters not to vote for him and maybe give Harris a vote, it would be better if they voted if they live in swing states.

Let me just say this. I usually speak my mind about just about anything. At times, I’m a freaking bomb thrower. But the shit Trump and some of his supporters say is too much for even me. Imagine how normal people must feel about it? :haha:

Newspaper endorsements probably don't do much for campaigns these days, but I'm old enough to remember how newspaper endorsements used to be news.

2020 newspaper endorsements
2012 newspaper endorsements

This year, Washington Post did not endorse Harris. They endorsed democrats for decades including Mondale and Dukakis. Maybe Bezos didn't want to alienate the Trump supporters; after all they're at least half of the Amazon customer base.

LA Times also did not endorse a candidate for president this year. They endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The LA Times editorials editor resigned because of the newspaper's non-endorsement of Harris. A WP editor-at-large resigned for a similar reason.

Meanwhile, the NY Post endorsed Trump. They also endorsed Trump in 2020.

USA Today is the 3rd major newspaper to NOT endorse a candidate this year.

From the article:

The paper, the nation's fourth largest, spoke to The Daily Beast on Monday and said that in lieu of an endorsement, they will provide "readers with the facts that matter and the trusted information they need to make informed decisions."

USA Today endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2020.

As to Washington Post, owner Jeff Bezos wrote an op-ed on Monday:

Excerpts:

We must be accurate, and we must be believed to be accurate. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but we are failing on the second requirement. Most people believe the media is biased. Anyone who doesn’t see this is paying scant attention to reality, and those who fight reality lose. Reality is an undefeated champion. It would be easy to blame others for our long and continuing fall in credibility (and, therefore, decline in impact), but a victim mentality will not help. Complaining is not a strategy. We must work harder to control what we can control to increase our credibility.

Presidential endorsements do nothing to tip the scales of an election. No undecided voters in Pennsylvania are going to say, “I’m going with Newspaper A’s endorsement.” None. What presidential endorsements actually do is create a perception of bias. A perception of non-independence. Ending them is a principled decision, and it’s the right one. Eugene Meyer, publisher of The Washington Post from 1933 to 1946, thought the same, and he was right. By itself, declining to endorse presidential candidates is not enough to move us very far up the trust scale, but it’s a meaningful step in the right direction.

I don't think newspaper endorsements sway anybody anymore. But the media's reactions to the non-endorsement by LA Times and Washington Post show that neutrality is NOT acceptable to the left.

More Editors Quit The LA Times Over Its Presidential Endorsement…

This article includes reports of media reactions to WP non-endorsement:

This is actually pretty remarkable. The question is whether these are just people who voted for Trump in 2020, but are voting early this time? I do not expect Trump to win the state. It looks like it’s almost all old, white people voting early, and I would imagine those independents heavily favor Harris.

This crowd in Washington for Harris is massive! I've seen some estimates of over 75k! Trump is seething! This is the same spot he launched Jan 6!

She just won the election tonight. This after Trump's KKK rally? Yeah it's over.

if only that were true. his supporters are still voting for him. it depends on how many dems vote, and if independents will vote Harris.  Dont know if she will win MI but she got my vote. I voted absentee and sent it in last week

And the quiet never Trump Republicans. That will push her over the edge.

This is insane.

All the polls and betting markets are showing the trend that Trump's lead over Kamala is increasing day by day.

At the end of the day, I still think it's gonna be super close. But this just shows how terrible of a campaign Kamala has run. Biden had clear lead over Trump in the polls leading up to the election.

She’s a terrible candidate, but I’ve heard numerous times that pollsters have made adjustments to account for Trump being underpolled. We’ll soon find out if that’s true.

I do agree it’s literally a tie. I have no clue who’s going to win, but I might post my prediction map this weekend anyway.
