Katie - She could easily win it all. Great personality, and clearly talented. The audience has taken to her. HOLD 3. Marybeth - She's in a precarious position. She might have peaked too soon, and may bite off more than she can chew with future song choices. SELL 4. Rose - I'm not convinced she can get into the finale via PV, but they will likely set her up to sing her way in. BUY 5. Ricky Duran - He doesn't seem to be catching on with the audience, but Team Blake has only been shut out of the finale once in 16 seasons. HOLD 6. Kat - I want her to do well, but I honestly don't think she's very good. However, she seems to have a decent amount of support, and she's Blake's bae. She'll have to step it up a lot to have a shot at the finale. HOLD 7. Hello Sunday - I didn't think they'd make it this far, but here we are. HOLD 8. Joana - I'm chalking up her appearance in the B3 to the terrible song choice. Her save performance was very good. BUY 9. Myracle - Another victim of a bad song choice, but I don't think she has as much upside as Joana SELL 10. Will - I think he's teetering on the edge of elimination SELL 11. So, typically when buy/sell/holds are done, either prices or odds or given. So would you buy the stock (if you think they are undervalued), sell the stock (if you think it is overvalued) or hold the stock (if you think it is appropriately valued). Instead, I'd suggest using the rankings TA gave. If you think the contestant will do better than the placement they're given, you'd buy. If you think it's accurate/close to accurate, you'd hold. For example, I'm buying more Joana stock, because I think she's undervalued, due to the poor song choice. There's definitely some risk there, because Gwen might give her another bad song next week. Hold: If I already own stock in a contestant who seems to be holding steady, I'm just going to hold onto it for now. For example, Ricky seems to be middling, and I can probably buy his stock at a reasonable price, but he needs to do more to stand out first. I'm definitely not selling, because he's consistent and he's on Blake's team. Sell: Self explanatory. Example...I'm cashing out of Marybeth stock while her value is high. Taking my profit and running as fast as I can. If she remains high on the ranking in future weeks, that's fine, because I already sold high. I'm selling all of my Shane Q stock in a fire sale. If you disagree, go all in on Shane Q stock, and he ends up winning, you might be able to retire at a young age. I actually changed my Jake play from Buy to Hold. Yeah that’s true. I mean it seems like he has the finale on lock but I’m not sure about how far in the finale. I mean what’s really making me doubt he’s winning is IDF is predicting him to win. To Katie's credit, she hasn't done anything to not warrant it. It won't be cheap, but I'm buying all the Katie I can get. 2. Jake Hoot (sell) - Ranked here bc he's the last country act, but some things this season might indicate the country mafia is slipping. I think its more like he slips to 3 or 4 than climbs to 1...so I'm cashing out. 3. Marybeth Byrd (sell) - I like her...her SM numbers are good...but for me, she the most likely of the real contenders to flop any given week. Too risky. 4. Ricky Duran (hold) - Holding seems like the only option here. Ricky is solid as rock, but forgettable imo. Safe investment. 5. Kat Hammock (hold) - Blake's fav, which is usually a ticket to the finale, but this is a weird season so I'll hold until later. 6. Rose Short (buy) - Ranked here bc of the disadvantages she faces on the show (AA female, Gwen) but I'm betting if anyone can break the curse, it's her. Potential huge earnings here. 7. Joana (buy) - She has the potential for a showstopper performance imo. With a few above her kinda stuck in neutral...im buying Joana 8. HS (buy) - I'm forced to buy here...but not aggressively. 9. Myracle Hollaway (sell) - Capable vocalist...but I'm not taking any chances. Anyways...I have to pay for Katie and Rose somehow. 10.Will Breman (sell) - I understand Will's appeal...and I think he could last another week...but no more easy outs after that. 11. Shane Q (hold) - Might as well hold this stock bc I ain't getting anything for it anyway, amirite? If he somehow lasts another week or two I make a few bucks. My only big flop was buying Joana, even though she did make it another week. I'll take it. Looks good. In Joana's case, she probably should have lasted at least one more week, but that's the voters for ya.
