AngelaKD Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 I was trying to figure out who Kat reminded me of, and I finally remembered. It’s Sydney Sierota, the lead singer of Echosmith. Their song “Bright” would be perfect for her.
Archanium Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Joana Martinez - Lose You to Love Me (Selena Gomez) Marybeth Byrd - Hometown Glory (Adele) Will Breman - The A Team (Ed Sheeran) Hello Sunday - When You Believe (MC ft Whitney), they love butchering singing diva songs, I can see this happening. Kat Hammock - Can't help falling in Love with you Ricky Duran - A change is gonna come (Sam Cooke)

QueenMae16 Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 Still in for Joana slaying a Selena song. Dreaming Of You please!
Archanium Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 EW....NO!!!...All Ed Sheeran songs needs to be banned in general... Honestly I kinda agree, but both that song and Will are my guilty pleasures, so I suggested it to him :teehee:

Thoughts and Sounds Posted November 20, 2019 Posted November 20, 2019 These are personal preferences, not songs that I think would benefit the artist in the competition: Katie: Any song which allows her to spend a decent amount of time in both the softer areas of her voice and her upper register. Myracle: For whatever reason, I feel like her voice would go great with an Amy Winehouse song. Perhaps B2B? Might be insane though. Another song I'd love to hear her sing is Soon We'll Be Found by Sia. I think she could kill the delivery of that. Rose: Again, oddly, I feel like Rose could absolutely nail "You Lost Me" Joana: I'd like to hear more vocal diversity in Joana's performances. She spends so much time in her upper register, and while her tone and texture is lovely, I think it becomes too one-note. Maybe a Florence song to show a few vocal gymnastics? Now for some songs that I think would benefit them in the competiton, and yeah some [ok so they actually all were ridiculously cheesy] will be hella cheesy: Katie: Say Something  Rose: Hallelujah Myracle: Piece by Piece Joana: Any emo pop ballad. Perhaps a Sia song?
Agenator333 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Kat - Samson, Leave Your Lover, The A Team, Stars, New York State Of Mind, Shake It Out
Rodney Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Only have these so far: Katie: "(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin Joana: I actually took the idea and suggested "Dreaming of You" by Selena on the app. Rose: "I was Here" by Beyonce.

fredcr123 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 (edited) i'm sorry but I don't get why some of you are suggesting the most OVERDONE songs on these shows... That has to stop, I'm sick of hearing different contestants singing the same song and I genuinely tought that was the consensus around here o:) Edited November 21, 2019 by fredcr123

xfactor22 Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Now serious song suggestion time Will Breman - “So Am I” by Ava Max (I’m going to keep suggesting this for him until he sings it), Katie Kadan- “Purple Rain” by Prince (One of the two/three who actually have the vocal ability and maturity to cover prince), Marybeth Byrd- Country Root: “Any Man of Mine” by Shania Twain (Upbeat to get her out of her ballad continuities) Jake Hoot- “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem”(if he wants to take a risk), Nobody Knows (If he wants to take a payoff risk and follow Sundance’s winning root for crossover appeal), “Best Shot” by Jimmie Allen (Untilhe sings this, I’ll keep suggesting it. ) Hello Sunday “Boo’d Up” by Ella Mai (Entertaining song could impress people with their performance, but also a risky song as it takes them away from the diva-pop route) Shane Q- “I Drive Your Truck” by Lee Brice(If Shane wants a shot a bloodbath, country songs are the way to go for him, or Christian music, but the latter could be seen as pandering for people who don’t usually see Christian songs as pandering and like Christian music like me) Myracle Holloway-Versace On The Floor by Bruno Mars (She’s covered Bruno before, but this style is a little different that WIWYM, and has the potential to show off more of her voice, Joana Martinez- “Beautiful Disaster” (I think she’d do well here) Rose Short-“Girl Crush” by Little Big Town Kat Hammock- “Angels” by Robbie Williams (Shed sound lovely hear) Ricky Duran- “How Do You Talk To An Angel” by The Heights (90s songS seem like the Best fit for his voice, and he’d do well here) Just for helping the coaches select team songs Blake Shelton, Ricky Duran, Kat Hammock- “Amazed” by Lonestsr John Legend, Katie Kadan, Will Breman, Marybeth Byrd “I Want You To Want Me” (Morgan Frazier version, but less country)
Someone648 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Hello Sunday - Beautiful (Christina Aguilera) Jake Hoot - Then They Do (Trace Adkins) Shane Q - Versace on the Floor (Bruno Mars) Joana Martinez - The Joke (Brandi Carlile) Myracle Holloway - Lose You to Love Me (Selena Gonez) Rose Short - Jerome (Lizzo) Katie Kadan - Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood (Nina Simone) Marybeth Byrd - Lover (Taylor Swift) Will Breman - Santeria (Sublime) Kat Hammock - Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell) Ricky Duran - I Can’t Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt)
xfactor22 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Hello Sunday - Beautiful (Christina Aguilera) Jake Hoot - Then They Do (Trace Adkins) Shane Q - Versace on the Floor (Bruno Mars) Joana Martinez - The Joke (Brandi Carlile) Myracle Holloway - Lose You to Love Me (Selena Gonez) Rose Short - Jerome (Lizzo) Katie Kadan - Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood (Nina Simone) Marybeth Byrd - Lover (Taylor Swift) Will Breman - Santeria (Sublime) Kat Hammock - Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell) Ricky Duran - I Can’t Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt) While Will would definitely sound good with Santeria I’m afraid people might see it as cultural appropriation cause I don’t think he is from where the music originates.
Someone648 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 While Will would definitely sound good with Santeria I’m afraid people might see it as cultural appropriation cause I don’t think he is from where the music originates. Well Sublime, like Gwen, is from SoCal while Will is from just up the coast in Santa Barbara so I don’t think that’s an issue. Ska’s roots are in reggae and rock and it definitely matches Will’s fun/chaotic vibes. If Will had gone with Gwen, I’m fairly confident this would’ve been given to him as a song already. Plus, I don’t think the core audience cares too much about cultural appropriation anyways.

QueenMae16 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 The Joke would actually be a pretty good song for Joana, so that could be a moment for her tbh.
