Queen of misspelling her own name though.

i think her real name is "marissa pontecorvo," but she went by marisa corvo on the voice.

me, if Marisa were a straight, white man: how classless, how immature, how ungrateful, cancelled effectively immediately!

Yes, but he’s posting it out of context. Most people watching that are probably thinking that’s why he violated protocol. He’s using his mom as a prop here. Ryan is playing the part of a drama queen.

Gonna have to agree with this. Knowing Ryan's extensive history with reality TV (American Idol, Ex on the Beach, supposedly some third unnamed show, and The Voice - and undoubtedly more to come in the future), people who bounce between shows like that know how to play the system to boost their social media engagement.

And I normally would give the benefit of the doubt. But sharing an out-of-context story to perpetuate what HE KNOWS was an early rumor for why he was eliminated is just... icky.

Guys, Ryan Gallagher posted three stories on his instagram. It was a video of his mom leaving the ICU after COVID. At the end, he thanked his cousin for being by her side "when we weren't allowed to". I wonder if a visit to his sick mom was the breach in protocol.

Doesn’t his mother live in MI? I find it hard to believe that his lapse in COVID protocol involved a round trip plane ride.

And as heart-tugging as it sounds, if he had visited a COVID ward that would absolutely be a non-negotiable breach.

I’m not buying it. His manager is obviously biased.

Was just about to post that the headline was misleading since Ryan isn’t quoted in the story, his manager is. And his manager wasn’t part of the Voice bubble, so how could he speak authoritatively?

just read the article. his manager's response to the allegation is in the following:

"However, in his statement to PEOPLE, Catalano also says Gallagher, 32, 'understands all too well how serious the Covid 19 pandemic is in this country and around the world,' adding, 'In fact, recently Ryan's mother in Michigan was hospitalized with Covid 19 and was in ICU for three weeks. It was a scary time for Ryan and his family and he certainly would not knowingly put anyone at risk by not adhering to the show’s Covid 19 policy.'

'As you can imagine there is more to the story here than the show has announced and at an appropriate time and place of our choosing Ryan will respond to these damaging allegations,' the singer’s manager adds. 'Ryan, whose performing career began at age fifteen as a backup singer for Josh Groban in Michigan, has been devastated by the show’s dismissal. A career as a singer/performer has been his life-long dream.'"

its funny cause the response is just: a) his mother had covid before, so he should understand its importance and b) he wants to be a singer. they didn't even address the issue lmao

edit: i'll have to wait to see what they say at a later time, although it makes no sense why they wouldn't address it now)

Here’s what comes up for his manager (The one quoted in the article). He doesn’t seem like a traditional artist manager, but more like someone who would represent someone seeking a career in other areas of entertainment. He’s probably responsible for getting him all of the reality show gigs. Who knows, maybe he can get Ryan his own show after this. :P

He’s not making a very persuasive argument here, though.

The Ryan situation is a mess.  NBC is saying he broke protocol.  Ryan's "manager" (not Ryan himself) said he did not break protocol.  Neither side provided any real facts or established a timetable to be able to determine which side is correct.  Ryan "speaking on his own time" screams he wants someone to pay him for an exclusive.

Yup, Ryan is an arrogant person.

Change my mind or just be in denial.

I don't know the guy, so there's no way to change anyone's mind.  All we know is what is on TV.

However, teasing "more facts to come" is ridiculous.  Either share your side, or hold it back.  He's acting like he's auditioning for a soap opera and everything is way too dramatic.

He probably doesn’t realize this, but his most of his “fans” will stop caring soon, if they haven’t already. The sooner he shares his side of the story the better, assuming there’s anything to share.

Agreed.  If he has something to share, the time is now.  Once the season finishes, no one will care.
