QueenMae16 2,283
I think Katie is winning, Jake will be 2nd....but Katie is polarizing and different than the typical win so she wont be without haters. Oh well. Happens to the best of 'em Which other winners were polarizing though?

dirActing 0
Some early-ish YouTube numbers... I'll do a proper update in about 1.5 hours (=1 hr after the west coast broadcast ends): Avg. Score Ranking (all 3 performances) 1. Rose 95.54% 2. Katie 95.31% 3. Ricky 94.15% 4. Jake 94.08% This is on par with the season as a whole, so no surprises. The good news for Katie is that Rose failed to jump ahead significantly, such that it would make an actual difference. If Rose were leading by solid 2-3%, that would give pause for though. But with such a slim lead, Katie could easily be the leader by the end of the night. And even if Rose still is, as she has been most of this season, it wouldn't be nearly enough to offset Katie's popularity numbers. The danger for Katie is that even with Jake at the bottom, he's still as much of a threat as he's been all season. As with Rose, I'd feel better if Katie were 2-3% ahead of Jake. There's just not enough daylight between the two to be remotely comfortable at this point. Solo Covers Ranking 1. Rose "Border Song" 95.71% 2. Katie "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" 94.80% 3. Jake "Amazed" 92.85% 4. Ricky "Runnin' Down a Dream" 90.18% Solo Originals Ranking 1. Rose "Steamroller" 97.12% 2. Ricky "A Woman Like Her" 96.16% 3. Katie "All Better" 95.08% 4. Jake "Better Off Without You" 91.75% Xmas Coach Duet Ranking 1. Jake (& Kelly) "Wintersong" 97.65% 2. Ricky (& Blake) "Run Rudolph Run" 96.10% 3. Katie (& John) "Merry Christmas, Baby" 96.04% 4. Rose (& Gwen) "My Gift is You" 93.81% Performances Ranking 1. Jake (& Kelly) "Wintersong" 97.65% 2. Rose "Steamroller" 97.12% 3. Ricky "A Woman Like Her" 96.16% 4. Rose (& Gwen) "My Gift is You" 93.81% 10. Jake "Amazed" 92.85% 11. Jake "Better Off Without You" 91.75% 12. Ricky "Runnin' Down a Dream" 90.18% Note: All of the Top 5 performances are either originals or Christmas duets. The highest ranked solo cover is Rose's at #6, and everyone else's ranked in the bottom half for the night.

dirActing 0
S17 Top 4 YouTube Score Ranking (Posted 1:30 am, pacific, Monday 12/17/19) Scoring: The score is derived by turning the likes to dislikes ratio for each performance into a percentage. The premise is that when viewers/listeners click like or dislike, it's akin to casting a vote. I reckon it'll be interesting to see how this correlates to the actual official vote. These scores were taken at approximately 1:30 am (Pacific), 12/17/19. I'll update them again and reassess the ranking at approximately 10:30 am (Pacific), 12/17/19. Note that scores are most in flux during the first 24 hours or so of respective videos being posted, but after that they do tend to stabilize (the larger the sample size, the better). The videos most recently posted will be the most volatile in terms of scoring. Videos with lower scores tend to experience more flux compared to those at the higher end. Margin of Error: The main purpose of this score is to measure YouTube viewers' collective assessment of artists' performance videos. The main focus is on the performative. Since, however, viewers do not vote solely on a performance assessment of an artist, which in and of itself is subjective, the score isn't reliable as a predictive indicator. To make the score more useful predictively, a margin of error of +/- 3.1% has been assessed, based on results from Top 13 week. Combined Scoring (Both Solos + Duet Avg) 1. Katie Kadan 95.72% 2. Rose Short 95.29% 3. Ricky Duran 95.01% 4. Jake Hoot 94.42% Performances Ranking 1. Jake Hoot (& Kelly Clarkson) "Wintersong" 98.33% (1,644|28//29,933) 2. Rose Short "Steamroller" 97.20% (1,565|45//37,186) 3. Ricky Duran "A Woman Like Her" 97.18% (1,549|45//27,022) 4. Ricky (& Blake Shelton) "Run Rudolph Run" 96.69% (848|29//18,838) 5. Katie (& John Legend) "Merry Christmas Baby" 96.46% (1,663|61//40,032) 6. Rose Short "Border Song" 95.56% (1,098|51//23,887) 7. Katie Kadan "All Better" 95.50% (2,315|109//48,134) 8. Katie Kadan "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" 95.20% (2,775|140//56,409) 9. Jake Hoot "Amazed" 94.62% (1,161|66//27,243) 10. Rose Short (& Gwen Stefani) "My Gift is You" 93.03% (881|66//26,022) 11. Ricky Duran "Runnin' Down a Dream" 91.16% (1,031|100//38,730) 12. Jake Hoot "Better Off Without You" 90.31% (1,025|110//34,382) Solo Covers 1. Rose Short "Border Song" 95.71% 2. Katie Kadan "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" 95.20% 3. Jake Hoot "Amazed" 94.62% 4. Ricky Duran "Runnin' Down a Dream" 91.16% Solo Originals 1. Rose Short "Steamroller" 97.20% 2. Ricky Duran "A Woman Like Her" 97.18% 3. Katie Kadan "All Better" 95.50% 4. Jake Hoot "Better Off Without You" 90.31% Xmas Coach Duets: 1. Jake Hoot (& Kelly Clarkson) "Wintersong" 98.33% 2. Ricky (& Blake Shelton) "Run Rudolph Run" 96.69% 3. Katie (& John Legend) "Merry Christmas Baby" 96.46% 4. Rose Short (& Gwen Stefani) "My Gift is You" 93.03% Notes: Past midnight, Katie leads the combined score ranking with a score average of 95.72%, which is 0.43% ahead of Rose Short in 2nd. But of far more importance is the fact only 1.3% separates the Top 4, which is super comfortably within the margin of error. Basically, it's way too close to call. In this scenario, Katie's vastly superior SM numbers give her the edge. On the other hand, Jake's uber-reliable country voting base and his dominance of the streaming bonus give him all the tools needed to nullify Katie's advantage. Rather predictably, it looks like it's going to be these two duking it out for Top spot. Ricky is currently leading on iTunes with his original song. This gives him an outsider's chance of winning. He's Team Blake, so count him out at your own peril. Rose had a very good night and can be proud of herself. She leads in two categories, but she pretty much needed a perfect night and then some to even have a glimmer of any kind of chance to begin with. She had "then some" in the form of the pimp spot, and all performances in the show's second hour. Again, she arguably had the best solo cover (Katie not far behind), and solo original (with Ricky a razor close 2nd). On paper, that seems like a killer combo, and yet Rose somehow still seems like a good bet for 4th, or 3rd at best. For comparison's sake, the top YouTube score out of all performances (blinds to present) by contestants who made the Top 20 is 99.10% (Rose Short "Big White Room" - Knockout round performance). The previous lowest score is 62.79% for Cali Wilson's Top 20 performance of "Toxic" (now likely to be surpassed by Shane Q). Katie (& John Legend) "Merry Christmas Baby" 96.49% 4. Rose Short (& Gwen Stefani) "My Gift is You" 93.66% UPDATED Notes: Overnight, Katie Kadan held on to top spot for combined score average. Just below, however, Jake Hoot fans rallied him to within 0.22% of Katie. Rose is barely holding on to 2nd, by a razor thin 0.02%. Given his trajectory, Jake could be in pole position by this afternoon. With the streaming bonuses in play, Katie fans should be in for a nail-biter of an evening tonight. A nail-biter -- that's pretty good news for TPTB, yes? Given the predictability of last season's outcome, I think yes. Speaking of unpredictability, Ricky slips down to 4th spot, but perhaps he's just warming that for Rose, because Ricky nabbed the #1 spot on iTunes overnight, dethroning his coach's (and Gwen's) "Nobody But You". With his original "A Woman Like Her" sitting pretty at #1, that's a nice little (big?) boost for Ricky. If anything, even if he doesn't pull off the upset tonight, he may actually walk away from it all with the biggest feather in the cap this week. Original Notes: Past midnight, Katie leads the combined score ranking with a score average of 95.72%, which is 0.43% ahead of Rose Short in 2nd.
