Also I didn't wanna go back to the 'fan war' thing and I'm gonna try and leave it lol, but just a general comment that I kinda hate the 'Ally fans' and the 'Hannah fans' labels. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm a fan of them both! I prefer Ally this season and she's definitely my fave but it doesn't stop me from also enjoying Hannah, or anyone else for that reason. :haha: I'm just a Season 28 top 5 fan :giggle:

As for Taylor, what's happened is really horrible and it sucks that an artist with such an extensive and personal back catalogue of music would have to go through something like that.

I found that out. I think there’s a feud going on between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun, at least that’s what I read. What’s the feud about?
Taylor's contract with Big Machine was ending, and she was negotiating to buy her master recordings (meaning she owns the music that she wrote); Scott Borchetta then sold his stock to Scooter Braun, who Taylor has notably had altercations with. Now they're holding her masters hostage because she refuses to do what they want. I'm sure Diana and Amanda could fill in any gaps I'm missing, but I believe that's the gist of it.

Here's Taylor's initial reaction to the sale of her masters back in June:

Taylor wanted to buy her masters, but Scott Borchetta wouldn't sell to her. He told her she could "earn back" her masters, one for each new album she produced. She walked away because she didn't want to be stuck in that cycle.

 

They own the rights to her masters - the actual recordings she did while at Big Machine - but they do not own the rights to what she wrote, so she is legally able to re-record her entire catalog in 2020. They don't want her to do that because they currently profit from whatever sales her first 6 albums are making. This is why they're trying to block her from performing her older hits at the AMA's, using performance clips in her planned Netflix documentary, and re-record her songs. They are threatening her and trying to silence her because they want to profit off of her music.

Wasn't it her and Evanna that night? :unsure:

 

(I mean, I know it was technically just in jeopardy compared to the actual bottom two, but considering how that season went, I wouldn't have been surprised if Evanna was in the B2 alongside her.)

Yeah.

 

Although yeah we don't know for sure if Evanna was in the Bottom 2. I'd like to hope that she wasn't. But if she was, I do think the judges would have saved Tinashe at that point as Evanna had most of her best dances around Week 6 onwards.
