  1. Idol's FB has usually in past years has been a good indicator of who is going to be eliminated & has a good fanbase. There's no way Kayko goes out based on FB. He's in the Top 3 based on likes. Hailey is in the bottom according to FB.
  2. I could see Abi trying for a career in CCM. She did say religion was a big part of her life.
  3. I think Triston will do well tonight & I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a better reaction than Will on FB. He's not my favorite, but I am predicting him to win. I can definitely see him as a Top 3 finisher. He's someone that will have the country fanbase, can see improve so wouldn't be a frontrunner, young & appeals to Minivan audience, etc.
  4. The voting audience likes contestants that improve. That's what Megan did. It's harder to be a contestant that starts off very well & continues to the finale.
  5. Not surprised. When I first heard Katy was leaving, I thought considering how they have said in the past they won't judge without each other I thought it was very possible another would go. If 2 are gone, like you said might as well get a total new judging panel.
  6. This couple's IG has them dancing in a clip to "This Is It" during the concert which is also their wedding. https://www.instagram.com/p/C5d5_CDRb1y/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  7. We have seen this season and in past seasons some contestants who can write original songs, but based on singing ability they wouldn't win a singing competition. I would still consider these contestants talented just in songwriting. As other's have said, it is subjective.
  8. I don't think this has been posted. Apparently, Song House which is a songwriting camp that releases artist's songs & have been involved with a few past & current Idols. Their IG is at the following link. Current contestants include Emmy, Kayko, & Ajii. Both Emmy & Kayko have released songs with them after Idol premiered. They have worked with past contestants such as We Ani, Matt Wilson (S21 Top 20), Hannah Nicolaisen (S21 Top 20), Hannah Everhart (S19 Top 24), etc. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3LTDEAu2KZ/
  9. Not surprised about Tyler or Sam Hunt probably pushing to #1 very soon. You know how I was wondering if the "plan" for Scotty was to push near or the week of the album release. Sam's EP comes out tomorrow which probably is why it's been climbing fast recently. Tyler's album comes out next week.
  10. Here's more names: - Jessica Meuse (S13 4th place) - Harper Grace (S16 cut at final judgment round): She sang her original song at audition & sang it again at the finale. Signed to Curb Records. - Emma Klein (S17 Top 40): Her name was Emma Kleinberg during Idol. She & Walker Burroughs toured with Bobby Bones after the season. - Kristen McNamara (S8 Top 36): She was a semifinalist in Group 3.
  11. I think Quintavious will be eliminated for some of the reasons above, but also his numbers on social media are not that good. If he was in Group 2, there are contestants there that have worse numbers. But in Group 1 with many who had more airtime, fans, etc. that's why I think he will be eliminated.
  12. I'm not a fan of Blake either, but he has a following. I could see him getting farther than he should. I can't see Scarlett or Michael getting far even if they made it through. They are not from here so they already are at a disadvantage. I think the international contestant that will get the farthest is Mackenzie, but I don't think he'll make Top 10.
  13. While that's what the show is supposed to be, it's not been only for amateurs for awhile. David Archuleta was a contestant on Star Search. Jessica Sanchez was previously on AGT before Idol. These professional singers competing just didn't start recently. Now, there are more ex-talent show contestants participating every season, but I think that's because the show is casting more than before.
  14. Idol changed the rules a few seasons ago. As long as a contestant hasn't won the show, within the age limit, & doesn't have a record deal they can come back on the show. I think they changed it the season after Arthur Gunn came back.
  15. I'm predicting eliminations to be Quintavious & Jayna from Group 1 & Elleigh & K-Blocks from Group 2.
  16. Does anybody know if the voting next week is live or overnight voting?
  17. I'm going with Triston. He's well liked on FB. He's country which is a well-liked genre. Similar to Scotty, he's coming off as a mature, young country singer that will appeal to the audience. Also, similar to when Scotty competed I'm seeing many comments like "I don't like country, but I like him." My second choice is Will. I'm not sure who will be the last female. I would have said Abi before, but I do think her not saying much about Idol on social media will hurt her.
  18. I don't think some of these are surprises. Idol's label has been mostly signing country singers so its not a surprise to me that Colin was signed. I wouldn't be surprised if the Idol label signs Will or Triston this year either. They like signing country contestants. Gabby didn't win & wasn't signed by the Idol label, but I always saw her as marketable during her season so it's not surprising a major label picked her up. HunterGirl was always more "ready for the industry" than Noah. I'm not surprised she's doing better than Noah that was too "green."
  19. Idol's FB page also didn't post videos except the sing-offs. They did posts congratulating the Top 24. Based on likes The Top 5 from tonight: Triston, Odell, Emmy, Will, & Jack. Triston has 6K+ likes. Odell has 4.5K. KB, Abi, Julia, & Mckenna are all around 1.5K-2.0K in likes.
  20. Emmy is a good songwriter, but I don't think her singing is as good.
  21. Even if people aren't annoyed by it, social media is a good way to gain a following & votes. If she keeps doing this, unfortunately I think it will hurt her and how high she eventually places on the show.
  22. How did they break a rule? Previous Idol contestants except the winner can audition again as long as they are in the Idol age limit & don't have a recording contract. I don't like this new rule, but it's been a rule for a few seasons now so producer's aren't making an exception for her. S15 Top 10 finalist Avalon Young auditioned again last season. It was on her social media. Idol just didn't show her audition.
  23. I'm wondering if the "plan" is to have the single peak at the same time as the album coming out. That could be the reason it seems like the updates haven't been great because its not really being pushed as much as it could be. If that's true, that likely means the artists close to Scotty that keep changing positions such as Lainey, Jordan, &/or Tyler might push first to #1. If that is the plan, I would be wary that Bailey or Kenny behind Scotty have great updates while Scotty's single "is in a holding position."
