  1. I did my part for more than two years. I got vaccinated, boosted, and still got sick. I recovered. I masked when asked to, I respected everyone's feelings. Now I want to live my life and have people see my face and I want to see everyone else's. The end.
  2. "Of all the things lost during the pandemic, I miss my mind most." Quote of the day!
  3. Could my Canadian friends sound off a bit on the COVID restrictions a bit? I understand that schools have by and large just recently opened after shutting down for a couple weeks? Is there now more discussion and dissent over whether that's a good thing to do? While in America, diversity of viewpoint is shut down often and you can't discuss things like natural immunity, how different countries have handled the virus, etc ...it seems like folks are almost less likely to speak out up north. Any thoughts?
  4. I'm SO glad I went. I had a blast. Saw a number of drag shows and overall, walked close to 50 miles between four days! Every time I have to leave, I get so sad though.
  5. The bf person wants to go to NYC in a couple days to sightsee, but there's so many regulations and so many things have been cancelled. I'm not completely sure it's worth it. Any thoughts?
  6. I'm going to watch it finally today, so excited.
  7. Wally! I'm so glad you're pleased with the winner too.
  8. Aw, thank you! I am. Just some congestion leftover along with not being able to taste fully yet, but it's coming back or so it appears. I'm thankful I was able to take some time out of work just when I needed it the most too. Was getting burnt out. Hope you had a nice holiday!
  9. Well, I tested positive on Christmas Eve. Holy moly. So far, it's been a fever, muscle aches, general fatigue, runny nose, congestion, loss of taste and smell started a few days later. I've actually felt worse before, but it's not fun. I'm glad I'm vaccinated. Probably would have been fine regardless due to my age but I still recommend everyone get the vaccine if it's feasible. Friends of mine that had cases before Thanksgiving still don't have their smell and taste back, which is kind of scary. Perfect for dieting, but yeah.
  10. I saw this live. Up until then, I thought it was a cute special. But holy moly...a bridge too far.
  11. How can one person be this unlikable? LOL. Though, I did see him during the 2016 race last time and he comes across much better in person than on TV. I can't explain why.
  12. It snuck up on me! I will say, it doesn't entirely feel like Christmas for the second year in a row and it's my absolute favorite holiday. I'm trying to get into the spirit though. So many aspects of life are so stressful right now. It's difficult to take the time and pause, you know?
  13. Rest In Peace, Build Back Better. At least for now, assuming Senator Manchin is telling the truth. Anyone have any thoughts on it?
  14. I was watching this doctor, I believe from Johns Hopkins on CNN yesterday discuss the possibility of an annual booster specifically to target the Omicron variant and even the hosts on there seemed exasperated. Like, what do you want us to do with this information? All I could think was - this is never, ever going to end. Further more, to take it to a political place, President Biden came into office promising to fix this. Former President Trump was knocked out of office because of COVID and I predict Biden will be held to account too, for inaction on COVID, for inflation. I think people in the country understand a single person can't wave a wand and cause a virus to just disappear, but the key is not overpromising and not delivering in the least. I don't know a single person that feels optimistic about the future and that's a problem. But hey, Pete Buttigieg got to be Transportation Secretary! There's that.
  15. I'm SO proud of them. I screamed! I can't wait to see what they do next. Their harmonies are absolute perfection.
  16. They're my favorite along with Josh and Sawyer. This is the first season I've paid attention to in a very long time.
  17. It's so funny, even you talking about the rumors about a judge favorite, I can envision the thread discussing this and it just brings to mind how massive all the discussion threads used to be.
  18. ^ The good old days! I loved your post. I came a bit later on in May of 2005, the 19th to be exact - very evening Vonzell Solomon was eliminated from Season 4 and I cried like a baby. I, too miss it when the show was all the talk around the water cooler. Literally, the finale matchup would be front page news and everything was so electric. Everyone wanted to talk about it! The contestants were extremely talented, the chemistry with the judges was once in a lifetime and will never be replicated in the same way.
  19. Favorites so far: To Be Loved, I Drink Wine, Love is a Game, Hold On, and Oh My God Listening to the Zane Lowe interview now as I work, when she talks about her divorce ...it's just so relatable, at least for me and I'm sure for many of you. I haven't been married yet, but I have been in a long term relationship with various ups and downs and some very, very deep lows and doubts, many of which continue to this day. #tmisorry She's just such a real person as well, you rarely get this from an artist where not only will they tell you the story through their songs, but you find out so much in interviews that sticks with you.
  20. I was so saddened to hear this. I can't even imagine.
  21. I think Newsom definitely has aspirations for higher office than Governor, so I'll echo that. I always thought he would become Governor someday and it happened. He looks like a politician, which is just a crazy reason to vote for someone but it undoubtedly happens.
  22. I like his personality. He comes across as a nice guy, even if it is a bit of an Obama impression, essentially. But yes, it would help to have actually had some semblance of experience with the department which you're heading.
  23. Shame to go through all that effort and keep Sheriff Joe.
