  1. I just enabled signatures on mobile devices. Lets see how this goes.
  2. As far as I know there's no way to turn them on/off based on a members usergroup so not at the moment. It would be a nice thing to have (like we did before) so it's definitely something we'll look into soon.
  3. I was never a huge fan of the subtitles. You can hover over a thread title to get a preview though (at least on desktops).
  4. After the forum came back up after the upgrade, there were still numerous background processes working away. One or more of them must have been related to post counts, as everyone is now showing the actual amount of posts they have on the site since the data loss we experienced. I had thought the original counts might've remained since that's what appeared when the current site came back up but apparently I was wrong. I'm sorry about that unfortunate change. Everything else regarding your original accounts remained, including posts after the data loss, usernames, avatars, signatures, and private messages. Since I noticed a few of you mention it, if anyone wants a username change just shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to update that for you.
  5. It's currently set to 2 images per signature but we can always look into increasing that. The more we put in a signature, the higher the possibility of display issues. It's more so an issue now because we're actually responsive in design (where as we only had the desktop version available before the upgrade). I'll be turning on mobile signatures soon and I want to ensure everything still looks right across all display types.
  6. Buzz and I want to thank everyone who has generously donated to the cause. It was so helpful and because of all the donations we received we were able to finally pull off the much needed upgrade to the website. If anyone who donated wants a custom member title, please shoot me a PM and I'll set that up for you. It's the very least I can do for the help!
  7. I'm sure you've all probably noticed by now but after much work, we've finally got ads working again. After being banned from Google Adsense for a very long time (primarily due to old embedded images on 3rd party websites being maliciously replaced with inappropriate images), we're finally back in Google's good graces and they're accepted us back into the program. I know no one likes ads, but hopefully you can accept them being there and not block them. Our new hosting is pricier than our previous self hosting, and we're hoping the ad revenue will be enough to cover all the costs for hosting, plug-ins, skins, and other good things for the benefit of both the site and members. We may try to tweak things over the coming weeks/months, but at the very minimum there will be some ads on the site. The ongoing costs of the site could reach $330 per month and every little bit helps.
  8. Doesn't appear to be a way to do it without changing the CSS which would then center all videos and I don't think that's ideal. Maybe in the next version of Invision it'll become an option.
  9. I've finished going through all the groups to allow for the updated signature settings. You should be able to make the changes now.
  10. Good to hear! Our previous rules allowed for 8 images which seems unnecessarily high? Are there people who actually need to use that many? Can we roll that back to say, 1 or 2?
  11. There are individual signature settings based on usergroup. I'm tinkering with them now, starting with the moderator group. I set it to 5 images, 5 links, 5 lines of text, with the previous 500x175 pixel max image size. Let me know if you're able to update it now or not.
  12. I'll have to check that on my phone later. I've only used it on my desktop PC and it's fast on there. Polls are still a thing. I thought they were enabled but maybe not? I'll look into that later.
  13. Just tried it and it's working fine for me. Is the problem still happening for you?
  14. Sounds like we might give signatures on mobile a try. There are new options available for limiting signature sizes so I'm going to play around with that a bit before we enable it. I've seen a few that are really big (larger than our rules state) so getting everything in check first is probably a good idea.
  15. Thanks for your feedback. Almost every social media platform these days has something similar because it does have many positive effects as well. Unlike on some platforms, this system actually can be useful for surfacing good content on Invision. There are built-in leaderboards so people can look at what's popular on any given day. https://idolforums.com/leaderboard/
  16. How come? I've always thought of them as a fun way to show you like something without having to reply.
  17. I just enabled Reactions (rating posts). You should see a heart icon to the bottom right of each post now (similar to Facebook). These will add to your reputation total which is one of the fields displayed in your profile box when you post (right above your post count).
  18. There is a setting, but on a forum likes ours which has graphics heavy signatures, it'll add a lot of scrolling when viewing threads. I'm hesitant to turn it on but if that's what everyone wants, we can give it a try.
  19. I've just switched from the default emoji to Twitter style emoji because I think they look nicer.
  20. So apparently it actually was a setting and I've fixed it to go to the next line (versus new paragraph).
  21. On the plus side we finally have a mobile friendly site. Back when we first launched the site none of our traffic was from mobile. To still be forcing people to use a desktop site on their phones in 2020 was really bad.
  22. Unfortunately it's not a setting. This is apparently the new norm for text editors. There are ways around it but I don't think messing with the code is in our best interest at the current time. We can take another look at it in the future if people can't get on board with the way it is.
  23. I've updated the max video embed width to 480. Lets see how that goes.
  24. I'm open to creating new forums as long as the demand for it exists. Make your pitch here and we'll consider adding it in in the future.
