Yeah lol I assumed that the two wouldn't line up perfectly so I'm more just using it as a deciding factor over the clues (like if 2 people can fit into a clue it's likely the one with the lower rating that is next)

I agree about the coach banter in that it's very scripted and inauthentic to me, so I usually skip it as well. However, I think how the coach reacts as the artist performs can influence my enjoyment of a performance. Like, in Season 22, I remember seeing a lot of comments along the lines of "If Kelly were here, she would be getting into the performance." Also, I'm not sure how much of a role coaches play in pairing artists together, but I'd prefer a coach who can create good pairings to make the most of their artists.

Yeah, I think if Manasseh vs Sorelle taught us anything, it's that two artists with completely different styles can work together depending on what song they're given. And, if Ray comes out and excels on this performance, it might help reduce the backlash against him making it to the Top 8

Ok, I am not willing to get into another argument we've had enough of those recently. What I will say is that my definition of 'talented' is different than other people's. I consider someone to be 'talented' when they're at the top of their craft. Just because I don't consider someone 'talented' doesn't mean I believe they're bad at singing. It just means that they're not amazing. Since you want an example, I'll say Bryce Leatherwood. He can sing, but especially when performing live, he never blew me away, so I wouldn't consider him talented. If you do, that's fine, and we can agree to disagree.

To be fair, the coaches likely gave the semis pass to the person who they didn't want to hear again. Like, no one cared about Jael or Lane (or Cassidy or Xanthe) The difference here is that people like Manasseh and Ryley are so good and people want to hear as many performances as they can from them.
