  1. It’s because American Idol contestants have to have the whole package. Aaron may have the voice, but doesn’t have the personality that’s representative of a well respected American idol contestant or someone that wants to go far and win.
  2. My Review Of Episode 2 Contestants Betty Maxwell - I didn’t thinks she was going to sound so good considering she’s a a pageant queen. She hit some very nice notes and had power and control when she was singing. My critique of her is to not only sing songs by American Idol contestants. That way she can show that she is an original artist in her own right with her own sound and style. We are not trying to find the next American Idol wannabe. We want the next American Idol. Leah Marlene - She was really good. I liked her. Also, a really good songwriter. Reminds of Catie Turner, but a much calmer version of Catie Turner. I like Leah’s personality because she is funny without overdoing it. She doesn’t rely on being funny in order to be a good singer. I can see her going far in the competition. Mike Parker - I liked him too. I really liked how he made a country song more of an R&B song and still sounded good when doing so. That is what originality is all about. I also see him going far in the competition too. Kelsie Dion - Her tone is interesting, but she needs more experience. I liked her second audition song better even though Katy Perry coached her how to sing almost each note of the song. I mean it helped showcase her voice more, but Kelsie won’t be able to have the judges coach her during Hollywood Week because it’s not The Voice. My one critique of her is she needs to show that she has power in her voice and can hit pretty notes without Luke, Lionel, or Katy forcing it out of her. The judges should have told her to wait another year. I don’t see her making the semi finals. Skylie Thompson - She had a pretty tone, but some of the notes were a little flat. I understood why the judges thought she wasn’t ready for Hollywood Week. She’s also a great songwriter though. Luke Taylor - Definitely a joke contestant and his audition is the worst one in this episode out of all the contestants that got the golden or platinum ticket to Hollywood Week in this episode. For starters, he sang in a low monotone voice and had no vibrato or range. Luke Bryan only said yes to him because he sounds country and Scotty McCreery vibes. I couldn’t even begin to guess why Lionel Richie would say yes. I’m with Katy Perry on this one. He shouldn’t be going to Hollywood and Luke and Lionel were extremely easy on him. If it was Simon Cowell, Katy Perry, and either Luke or Lionel as judges, they would have 2 nos instead of 1 no because Simon would have immediately said no to Luke Taylor. Thus, he wouldn’t have gotten a golden ticket to Hollywood Week. He will be someone that really struggles during Hollywood Week and won’t make it far. I say he gets cut during Hollywood Week Round 1. Kenedi Anderson - The best audition of the episode and someone that should have a recording contract right now and doesn’t even need American Idol. Every note she sang was perfect and her singing voice was beautiful and she showed us different sides of her singing voice and she also played piano. I’m glad she got the platinum ticket because she deserved it. She will definitely go far in the competition. I’m thinking to Top 10 and maybe even further. Isaiah Jaya - The guy couldn’t sing in tune. Joke contestant. Kaitlyn Rose - Great at choreography, but not a good singer at all and that wasn’t the right song for her. Kurtis Bell - His rendition of that song is an insult to The Godfather Of Soul. His piano playing skills were great though. Aaron Westberry - He was way too calm and serious. There is somewhat of a good tone in his singing, but it lacks variation. He’s a limited singer who lacks passion. He reminds me of Benson Boone and Nick Merico both former contestants who thought they were too good for American Idol. Aaron Westberry was kind of giving that attitude to the judges in his body language and calm demeanor. I don’t see him making the semi finals. My one critique is to work on his range and show passion and excitement for singing and act like he wants to have this opportunity to compete on American Idol. Allegra Miles - I liked her original song and the tone in her singing voice. I wished they showed more of her audition. Christian Guardino - He’s got soul you can’t deny that, but he’s too loud. His phrasing lacks finesse, character, and subtlety. I still think he was good enough to be sent to Hollywood week though. Lady K - Her rendition and cover of the Katy Perry song is even better than the original. She had a great delivery with an R&B flair. It was a very moving performance. I see her going far in the competition.
  3. Because the judges asked Aaron if he heard of Owl City.
  4. My thoughts/review on Episode 1 contestants (Favorite to Least Favorite) Also, I felt bad for Grace Franklin because you can tell how badly she wanted this, but she was clearly not ready. Have the most potential 1. Nicolina Bozzo - I was just speechless. She was on pitch and singing like an angel. How does this girl not have a recording contract already? She doesn’t need American Idol. That’s how good she is. 2. Tyler Allen - His story was heartbreaking. You could really feel his pain when he sings. I can see him going far. If I had to give one tiny critique, it would be that he started the song, he was a little off pitch, but he fixed it. 3. Hunter Girl - She’s got a nice rasp to her voice and reminds me of Miranda Lambert. Very pretty country singing voice for sure. 4. Cole Hallman - I liked him. His voice is pleasant, but not distinctive. He is similar to Laine Hardy, but he has his own style when it comes to singing where I see the differences between the two. If I had to critique him, it would be that his voice cracked at the end. Also, he did way better singing with his sister than he did by himself. I think that made him way more comfortable and allowed him to shine. I can see him go far. 5. Taylor Fagins - He’s a good singer. You can’t deny that. The song wasn’t perfect, but it was heartfelt and I feel lots of people will resonate with his song. He had a great falsetto. Overall, an excellent and powerful performance. I can see him go far in the competition. 6. Noah Thompson - He was good. I like him. He has an authentic raspy sound to his voice. My only hope is he doesn’t try too hard to become another Chayce Beckham. My one critique for him is that he needs to work on his pronunciations when he sings. Because having an enunciation problem as a singer is not good. 7. Danielle Finn - It was a decent audition, but not the best. She’s got the voice and potential though. I think she will do even better during Hollywood Week and surprise many people. 8. Delaney Renee - Her tone and phrasing were very beautiful. My only critiques of her is that she sounded too youthful when singing and she didn’t show enough grit, attitude, or power in the voice when she did in that viral video when she was babysitting. Can see crash and burn in Hollywood Week Normandy - She literally sounded like a baby when she was talking, but then she sounded great. I didn’t expect her to sound good at all. I thought she was going to be a joke contestant who sounded horrible when she sang. I think she relies too much on the gimmicks and I think it’s going to negative affect her chances of advancing far in Hollywood Week. Camryn Champion - She made it to Hollywood Week but had a lot of pitch problems. The judges had to help her several times before she finally got it. No other contestant was given as much help as she did and the judges are definitely coaching contestants this season. That is as clear as the light of day when you watch the episode. In Hollywood Week, the judges won’t be able to correct her pitch problems or get more of her voice to come out. I think this will make it hard for her to do well during Hollywood Week. Worst audition of the episode: Maddie Belle Glidewell - It was just all over the place. It was pitchy and just off key. She was trying too hard to be like Carrie Underwood and Gabby Barrett. But the girl is not there yet.
  5. Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson aren’t country. They have done country songs though.
  6. Normandy was talking in a squeaky baby voice. If that’s not considered qualities of a joke contestant, then I don’t know what is. Margie Mays wasn’t really much of a joke contestant, but she overdid the trying to be funny at her audition. I let all of that go when I heard how great she sounded when Margie was singing.
  7. I can't tell if you're referring to Normandy or Margie Mays. I was surprised at Normandy's singing voice and I was also surprised with Margie May's singing voice. They both had goofy personalities that made it seem like they were going to be joke contestants. When they started singing, it was clear they were no longer joke contestants.
  8. So we know the last spot in the Top 59 is a girl. There are only two other woman who made it in the audition round that made it to Hollywood Week that aren’t already listed in the Top 59. I am 99% sure it’s not Camryn Champion because the judges had to coach her too much on how she was singing before they said yes to her going. So that leaves us with Delaney Renee. She was too youthful with her audition and didn’t show enough power and grit in her voice, but maybe she improves enough in Hollywood and it’s possible she is the unidentifiable contestant in the Top 59.
  9. I asked if anyone thought it was possible because of a certain contestant who was very similar who made it that far. AKA Margie Mays. Many people thought she was going to be a joke contestant at first and then she started singing and everyone was blown away.

  11. Wait how many people think it’s possible Normandy is the missing unidentifiable person in the Top 59?
  12. The new mini series Pam & Tommy is great. It tells the story of how someone stole a tape of theirs and the relationship between Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Sebastian Stan (who people might know as Bucky from Captain America) plays Tommy Lee and Lily James plays Pamela Anderson. It's based on a true story. The only series I'm currently watching that is only on Hulu and is not a mini series is The Great. It's a comedy take on Catherine The Great's rise to power and is loosely based on a true story. Elle Fanning does a great job portraying Catherine The Great.
  13. It’s better than the Top 24 being 100% white. You have to look at things with a glass half full.
  14. Wait I’m confused. Did Hunter Gurl make The Top 24 or not? On one thread (this one), it shows her on the Top 24 list. On the other spoiler thread, it doesn’t have her name on the Top 24 list?
  15. I mean I like Bebe Rexha. She is very good at giving feddback. She has done for it American Idol with only a few contestants and The Voice with only a few contestants. So I’m not unimpressed with her. I just wish they picked someone different. But at the end of the day, it’s about the contestants, not anyone else.
  16. I agree Idol alums would be good. The question is who would accept the offer to do so and I thought that’s what they are doing during Hollywood Week.
  17. Something tells me though that Bebe Rexha and Jimmie Allen are going to be the only two mentors, which is fine. I’m thinking it more though and I think they are strictly mentors this time and not going to perform with the contestants. If they were, they would have many different celebrities.
  18. If we are talking strictly mentors and not actually performing with the contestants, I would go with Dr. Dre (He just did the Super Bowl Half Tile show yesterday), Timbaland, Slash, Stevie Nicks, Cher, and Barbara Streisand. So the younger audience is satisfied, Sara Bareilles, Anna Kendrick, BTS, Mark Robson, Mickey Guyton, and Shawn Mendes. Some of these though, could be good duet partners too.
  19. It just occurred to me. Walker Hayes would be good to have. His song Fancy Like is one of the biggest and most well known songs released this year. They play it on the pop radio stations constantly.
  20. Considering it says Top 24, it makes me think they are going to be the celebrity duet partner, which is why I said they already did that and should use different celebrities.
