  1. Jake Hoot is a million times more marketable than Todd. Jake Hoot has a pure tenors belting range that is extremely rare and sought after in the country genre. Jake has possibilities. Todd has 8 children and a flock of Pentecostal parishioners who don't drink. If I ever said Jake was going to be a star I apologize. All I meant to convey was I thought he was going to win and he had a unique voice that could work in today's country format very well - and his personality and "aura" wouldn't work against him.
  2. I have no argument. I simply made a statement I stand by: Todd has ZERO chance of future music success for a variety of reasons. His age, appearance, personality, cultish religion, and general aura don't excite anyone but maybe an over 50 excommunicated Pentecostal mongrel - and those who identify with said mongrels. Clearly there are a lot of over 50 mongrels out there who voted for him. I'm over 50 but I'm not a mongrel. I'm a Dalmatian.
  3. Yes - and it probably worked until those younger viewers saw how boring he is.
  4. Wack jobs. They're out of their minds to suggest The Voice should take the Coaches out of the entertainment equation in any way. Without the Coach's humor injected competition for the contestants during the Blinds there is no television show to watch. The Voice is about the Coaches. These two dolts just don't get it. And while we're on the topic of the Coaches - my review of Nick's first season is an ice cold 32 out of 100. He seems much smaller in stature, both personally & professionally, than he did before the season. He's not funny, he's a &hitty singer, and he brought nothing useful to the table in the mentoring stage. I think he'll be back for next season out of necessity because of the Pandemic but after that adios brother Nick.
  5. It matters because Pentecostals are, by and large, considered a cult. In the deep south many Pentecostal Holiness Church women don't wear makeup or cut their hair. Many don't allow televisions or radios in their homes. The strict Pentecostals abhor everything related to pop culture and consider it's inclusion in daily life to be a sin. Alcohol is forbidden. The vast majority of Pentecostal sects believe in Divine Healing. Many Pentecostal sects refuse modern medicine and eschew doctors and medicines altogether. Many southern sects handle poisonous snakes during church services. All Pentecostal's speak in "tongues" and the religion generally subjugates women. They do a hell of a lot more crazy stuff - Google it yourself but Pentecostals constantly reedit the Wikipedia pages the same way Scientologists reedit Scientology - so you'll have to dig deeper.
  6. Are you dense? He reaffirmed he is a Pentecostal Preacher in the finale. He is a Pentecostal Preacher and he and his family are devout Pentecostals. Why would you try to refute it?
  7. Are you a Pentecostal Missionary? There is nothing, short of an immaculate intervention, that would help Todd's career now. His entire career was his appearance on The Voice. That's it and that's all.
  8. You are making assumptions you know nothing about. Viral sensations come from "hits" written by the artist posted online or social media. HIT SONGS! Post Malone can't sing a lick - but he writes GREAT SONGS. You are out of your mind if you think singers come first in the creative process and the decisions labels make when it's time to invest money in an artist's career. CONTENT IS KING! And that will never, never, never, never, never change.
  9. The bottom line here - if you go back and read the last dozen posts - is Maelyn and Todd have ZERO chance at significant music careers. 99.9% of their music careers ended with their last performance on The Voice.
  10. Kelly does little promotional Instagram, Facebook Live, and Twitter videos for her Talk Show & The Voice and she's mentioned in several of them they're trying to figure out how to do the "Blinds" for next season from her ranch in Montana. Her Ranch, by the way, is called Vintage Valley and it's 7000 acres. It is the largest ranch in Granite County, Montana. The "Blinds" are shot months before the season starts - that means NOW!
  11. So, why haven't great songwriters and producers been fighting to work with Maelyn? Where are her hit songs? The better question to ask is: Where is her career? Record labels are in business to make money. They make ZERO money without hit records. They're looking for hit songs first, last, and everything in between. The singers are secondary by a loooooong shot. You can lie to yourself all you want - I don't care.
  12. I have a little news and I'll address several topics from the last half dozen posts above ^. Kelly Clarkson has already confirmed she'll be back next season. It think it's a safe bet Kelly is a permanent fixture on The Voice. The Maelyn problem. If the album she recorded before TV had been any good it would already be out. Record labels are looking for one thing: GREAT SONGS! They are not looking for great singers. They'll take a &hitty singer with great songs over a great singer who can't write hits any day. Maelyn can't write her own hits and no hits means no career. She's too old to break into pop so her label isn't going to spend money on top producers and writers. She's wasting her time at Republic. Her best bet is Broadway and to forget pop altogether. If she could write hits she would have made it in pop long ago. The Todd Tilghman problem, or I should say "many" problems. #1. Todd is too old. #2. Todd is a Pentecostal preacher. If you Google Pentecostalism you'll find mainstream country music is not compatible with his religion. Todd is a religious fanatic in what most call a cult religion and the conflict that presents for Todd in country music is insurmountable. Country radio is not looking for people like Todd and once word of his religious fanaticism gets out country producers & songwriters won't touch him - but truth be told they wouldn't have ever worked with him anyway - his image and age don't work. That leaves Todd one lane: Christian music. But even then, as a full time pastor with 8 children, I don't see Todd touring enough to build a fanbase to sustain an income from touring while keeping faith with his religion and taking care of his family. Bottom line: Todd's story is unique but he'll fade away faster than a rain cloud in Arizona. In fact, Todd's career is already over.
  13. I'd like to see Just Sam make it big, get rich & famous. I want to see how it changes her.
  14. But - it's still one of the top rated shows on television and it ain't going anywhere. You're blaming the show for a ubiquitous cultural phenomenon - and you're wrong. The younger demo wasn't lost because of the coaches, singers, or winners - it was lost to chord cutting and the interwebs.
  15. The problem with this equation is the crowd that voted Todd thru doesn't buy or consume much music. He may find success in Christian music but he won't smell a hint of success at mainstream country.
  16. I don't know if John helped Maelyn or not - but she's done regardless. No hits no career. If she could write a hit it would already be out there.
  17. He's also a Pentecostal Preacher in the deep south. Google Pentecostal religious beliefs. You might be {{{SHOCKED}}}.
  18. Whether she wins or not - I enjoyed listening to her sing more than anyone else this season.
  19. Where do you guys get the conspiracy theories? Did your mama tell you everything in life is manipulated? If they really manipulated things the way your post suggests and anyone ever found out about it the show would be over. Lawsuits. Jail. Gazillions of dollars lost. Cheating kids in a singing competition ain't cool and as much as you want to believe it - it's not worth the risk for the network. Cheating to get a winner on a TV show doesn't translate to the real competitive music world. That's where the winner has to be successful for the show's process to be validated and the show to be rewarded.
  20. Hated Tstorms interpretation. Many others have sung it much better.
