  1. No big surprise. I hope that Comfort becomes the permanent judge in his place.
  2. So that probably means we'll find out later this month who makes the semi-finals when traveling begins later this month!
  3. If Joshua did attempt Celine Dion, that was a fatal error. My list of the rules that American Idol contestants will need to follow -- which I'll post when it's time to see the Top 24 -- notes that you should not tackle songs written by Celine, Mariah or Whitney because you're going to be compared to the original singers and more often than not, you're going to come out on the short end of the stick. We Ani didn't do that when she tackled Whitney, but that did ultimately doom her chances of making it to the semi-finals.
  4. He more often than not came off that way, I have to agree from my experience of watching him judge So You Think You Can Dance, so if he really did assault Paula, I'm not surprised.
  5. She'll make the lives. I'm sure that she'll make the Top 5, especially given that she apparently came in 4th on her season of the Voice. I'm not so sure that she can win, but if they she makes the right song choices and if the favorites of the minivan women aren't good enough, maybe she can win. Right now, I'm saying that it's unlikely but that it depends on the other artists.
  6. Female, country (though I'd rather have pop or R&B personally), early-to-mid 20's.
  7. Her performance of Whitney isn't karaoke -- she doesn't merely imitate Whitney's singing -- but I do hope that when she's on the show, that she doesn't just choose Whitney songs, but instead songs that she can flip so that they are diva songs even when they weren't. In fact, I'd prefer that she avoids Whitney -- or Carrie, or Mariah altogether at the very least if she makes it to Hawaii, since people who sing Whitney, Carrie or Mariah songs are begging to be compared to the original and more often than not, the contestant tackling the song will come of second-best. We Ani mostly managed to avoid coming off as second-best, but she still suffered as a result of choosing to sing Whitney close to the finale.
  8. That certainly was a catchy song, although I really began enjoying it near the end and not from the beginning.
  9. I really hope that a female wins but I won't be surprised if a male does so.
  10. What about Abi and Anna Grace? Do you think that they'll get into the Top 24? Or Alyssa for that matter?
  11. The fact that Maddie favored a bunch of conservative conspiracy theories has really disappointed me, since I voted for her. But she's still a fine singer.
  12. Seems like Abi's song choice must have been really good if she got the pimp spot! That's a good sign in the pre-live performances.
  13. I'm interested in the song choices of Abi, Alyssa and Anna Grace. I hope they do the songs justice. Same goes for Hailey and her "Alive".
  14. I'm interested in Anna Grace. Her Instagram site indicates that she's Native American, and we haven't had many Native Americans on the show.
  15. I have to agree with those who say that Emmy wasn't paid by Idol to go on the show. She might just want to be noticed and get a chance for a record deal.
  16. Alyssa might be back for a third time? If she's back, I hope she's gotten better since the previous two times she tried it!
  17. And I think that I know why: he's country.
  18. Darn! There goes my top pick! I really wanted Mira to get farther! But I guess that going first hurt her.
