  1. I can think of a few that were worse... but I can also understand EXACTLY where you're coming from
  2. Chello sounds... OK-ish. Some parts are very pitchy, especially the final chorus.
  3. EXCUSE ME, did y'all SEE that hair toss from Morgan Myles? That was spectacular. She really looks like a bona fide diva.
  4. I legitimately can't believe so many people on the app went for The Dryes. I heard them in the YouTube preview, and they didn't sound good there; they somehow sounded even worse on TV. They were very pitchy.
  5. I dunno... I mean, I can't stand Post Malone, and Bodie made me like a Post Malone song. That's worth a lot.
  6. Screenshot of the face he makes - it's PRICELESS
  7. Favorite battle: Parijita vs. The Marilynds. Just exquisitely beautiful voice from Parijita, and I thought the Marilynds were OK too. Most repeated battle: Eric Who vs. Sydney Kronmiller. So in love with her tone, and Eric Who was absolutely fantastic. This one is so addicting to listen to. (This may be tied with Devix vs. Sasha Hurtado. I just love Devix's voice and vibe and everything, and Sasha was fantastic too - and on a side note, I'm obsessed with the flute in the background of "Electric Feel." If there were a superlative for most underrated battle, this would get it.) Favorite note(s) hit in a battle: Practically every note out of Kim Cruse's mouth during "Heartbreak Anniversary." Most (positively) surprising battle: Omar Cardona vs. Lana Love. Didn't have much faith in the song choice, but they brought a great, theatrical, entertaining performance. Best pairing of contestants: Bodie vs. Jaeden Luke. I legit think they'd make a compelling band if they officially got together. Their voices mesh so well. Favorite outfit(s): Nia Skyfer in "She's All I Wanna Be." IDK, I just love her spunky and weird style. It reminds me of the "good ole days" of The Voice. Best song choice: Kevin Hawkins vs. Hillary Torchiana, "Preach" by John Legend. It wasn't my favorite battle, but it felt so evenly matched because the song choice complemented both of them about equally. Great song choice.
  8. 1. Team John. My snowflakes this season are there (Omar and Parijita). Also a huge fan of Kim Cruse. Overall don't mind anyone on this team; this is a strong team. 2. Team Gwen. Big fan of Daysia and Destiny Leigh. Sasha and Alyssa are also promising. 3. Team Camila. Devix and Eric Who are fantastic. Andrew is great as well. Not particularly a fan of anyone else there. 4. Team Blake. I like bodie, and I think Kevin Hawkins is a fantastic singer, but I'm not a fan of anyone else on his team at all.
  9. Billy Ocean's "Caribbean Queen." But there's probably a good reason for that.
  10. Not sure where else to post this (or if it's already been posted) - but YouTube's official YouTube channel (with 33+ million subscribers) posted a comment on Parijita's audition lol
  11. Sydney for me. I absolutely loved her tone. Eric still deserved to win because he really didn't come to play in that battle lol, but Sydney absolutely deserved a steal. She would have been so interesting to hear in the Knockouts, even if she didn't go any further due to how competitive the 3-way KOs would have been this year. In my opinion, it's a classic example of a battle where the only reason a deserving singer went home was because of the bad luck of being in a later taping. To be fair, though, I thought Ava and Benny gave better performances in their battles than the people who won. I don't get why Ava wasn't chosen (like, at all - I've tried understanding and I can't lol), but I do understand why Benny wasn't chosen, because he isn't as marketable or interesting to follow as a 15-year-old country rookie. I don't think Brayden is bad. I just think Benny was more in tune and consistent for that battle.
  12. Finally decided to check the spoiler thread. I'm devastated Sydney isn't going any further because I am absolutely, wholly in love with her tone, style, and voice. At the same time, Eric absolutely earned that victory, so I'm really just so sad Sydney couldn't get stolen. Sydney is such a unique singer who would have such a cool place on this show. This battle as a whole was gorgeous and haunting. Really enjoyed this one, and it's always sad when such a great battle results in a permanent elimination. Dang. I shouldn't have looked at the spoilers.
  13. (Just doing Episode 2.) Orlando vs Ava - Rocket Man - 7.5 Cara vs Jay - Leather and Lace - 10.0 Emma vs Nia - SheΒ΄s All I Wanna Be - 6.0 Bodie vs Jaeden - As Long As You Love Me - 9.0 Reina vs Grace - Time after Time - 7.0 Justin vs Destiny - No More Drama - 9.5
  14. I actually thought Grace Bello should have won her battle. I thought she and Reina were both great, but I kept finding myself focusing on Grace's tone and craving the moments when I'd hear her parts, and I didn't feel the same way about Reina's parts. I was genuinely shocked Grace not only lost, but wasn't stolen.
  15. I'm just gonna add ANYONE singing "Cuz I Love You" by Lizzo. I'm stunned that it has actually paid off in 4-chair turns for two separate singers auditioning (Tamara Jade and this season's Morgan Taylor), because that song is notoriously difficult to sing, requires a ton of breath control, and can very easily come across as clumsy and breathless if you aren't able to capitalize off of the relatively few moments that allow your voice to shine. The half-rapped verses in particular are brutal. And I'm not gonna lie. I hate listening to that song on singing shows (especially the verses), and it's quickly becoming the next "That's What I Like" for me.
  16. I voted for Omar, but I’d tie him with Parijita. I really, really liked most of these. All but the last 3. The last 3 are VERY far below the others. Omar Cardona - Separate Ways: I can't stress how much I adore everything about this. Just perfection, and I love that we have a fantastic rock vocalist this year. Probably my favorite so far this season. Parijita Bastola - Jealous: Just as stunning, and I wish I could have two #1s. Tied as my favorite this season. Grace Bello - Ghost: She made me actually like this song. Such a beautiful performance, and I LOVE her tone. Kim Cruse - Best Part: So jazzy and gorgeous, and she was clearly only giving about 30% of what she has. Can't wait to hear more. Morgan Myles - Hallelujah: Very beautiful performance, but... I'm getting tired of this song lol bodie - You Found Me: Beautiful performance, and I like his rockier voice. (I was shocked this got 4 chairs, but I think he deserved it.) Andrew Igbokidi - when the party's over: Another stunning performance. There were some parts that felt a little pitchy, but when he was on, he was ON. Very emotional and nuanced. Kevin Hawkins - Isn't She Lovely: It was good. Quite a few parts in the second half where he made stylistic decisions I didn't like. Started off AMAZING in the slow part, but veered off course when the beat picked up. He has an AMAZING voice, though. Morgan Taylor - Cuz I Love You: I actually think she's a fantastic singer. But this song is notoriously tough to nail, requires a ton of breath control, and it's just not very good for a singing show. I think her performance highlighted all of that. I've never liked a performance of it on one of these shows. I guess "Cuz I Love You" is gonna become the next "That's What I Like." Orlando Mendez - Beer Never Broke My Heart: He actually has a great voice with a lot of rasp (in a way that sorta-kinda-marginally reminds me of Craig Wayne Boyd). It's just that the song choice didn't do anything for him (and I stress, ANYTHING), and he was straight-up flat on too many notes. Some of it was stylistic, but some of it was just him not hitting the note. No. Just no. But I have faith he can do better later.
  17. I admit, I was stuck between option 1 and option 2... and I went with option 1. Call me an extremist lol. But I don't think the show will IMMEDIATELY tank. It's just that Blake is such an integral part of the show's charm. He isn't like Adam, Christina, and Cee Lo were; I remember seeing criticisms of their mannerisms and antics at the beginning of the show's run, but I saw comparatively very little of that with Blake. On the contrary, he literally has people who just tune in to see his quick-witted antics. I also believe there are still people out there who blanket-vote for whoever is on his team no matter what. I could see the producers panicking and jumping the shark with its format, trying crazy new things to shake up the formula while viewers loathe every second, or trying to replicate his presence with someone who is far more divisive (in terms of their personal life and/or their banter on the show), like Jason Aldean lol. Or Morgan Wallen. No matter what, I see viewership steadily dropping off, albeit definitely not immediately. I don't think it'll burn out, but I think it'll fade away in 3-4 Post-Blake seasons.
  18. He had such a beautiful voice - and he was so young. This is so sad. Rest In Power to him. So sorry for his family.
  19. I heard yesterday. He was only 41. So sad. I'll always think his "Tiny Dancer" was one of the best auditions ever. https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/nolan-neal-voice-americas-got-talent-contestant-dies-41-rcna38973
  20. "That's What I Like" by Bruno Mars. I really loved DeAndre Nico and Shawn Sounds (they were my snowflakes), and I thought they both did an astoundingly awful job with it. It just isn't made for a music show. That song is a snowflake melter. And "Cuz I Love You" by Lizzo. I've never liked anyone else performing that song. Come to think of it, I kinda hope no one tries ANY Lizzo songs anytime soon.
  21. They're pretty much obligated to edit him out of the episode now, right? I also heard that he was dropped from his label recently (and that he's no longer listed on Hollywood Records's roster). I have no idea if that's related to the investigation/charges or not, though. https://www.hollywoodrecords.com/artists/ Either way, this is awful. I feel awful for that woman who must feel like her privacy was seriously violated.
  22. He's not terrible, but I don't think he deserved to make it through compared to so many people who have been eliminated instead. I don't think he should have been in the Top 24, much less the Top 14 (and MUCH, MUCH less actually voted into the Top 10 without singing for his life).
  23. This one might be a stretch... but I'm going with Chris Blue and Craig Wayne Boyd. Nah, don't leave yet - just give me a chance to explain myself! Stylistically, both were really good at ad libbing and runs. Their huge breakout moments came in the KOs. (At least in my opinion, "Can't You See" was really great.) Both were undoubtedly the most popular members of their respective teams after the Playoffs. Both sang religious/gospel ballads in the Semifinals. Votes (and public opinion) were extremely close between them and their 2nd place finishers, Matt McAndrew and Lauren Duski. Along the same lines, both of their wins were, and still kinda are, controversial. Both of their original songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100 (Money on You at #66, My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face at #34). And... uh... Gwen wanted to press a button for them. (It wouldn't have worked for Chris because her team was full, but she stole Craig! Eh? Does that count?) ...I know you're still not convinced, but I tried.
  24. Also think it's worth mentioning that both of their Finale solo song choices were political statements ("Rhythm Nation" and "Stand Up").
  25. I honestly don't really like Katie's version that much. Gihanna's is really pretty, elegant, and emotional, and Zan's tone is impeccable on that song. I actually voted for Zan, but after revisiting both, I think it's a close tie between Gihanna and Zan. This one is hard for me because it's one of my all-time favorite songs, by one of my all-time favorite artists. I can't help but mentally compare every cover to Gaga's version, and it isn't fair lol
