Do you guys think Kala could have made finals?
It could have also been a strategic decision for Chance to not advance Kala. Sorelle seems to be the most popular member on his team and male rnb singers tend to make it further than indie girls.
If that is in fact the reasoning, Not sure if that would make her elimination better or worse tbh..
I think she could have made it. I don’t think she would have been Top 3, but she is more reliable to give a strong performance than some of the people that made Semis -

I loved it a lot. Season 21 had so many incredible knockouts, it's just hard to pick one.
I might pick Witchita Lineman bc all three of the GNT members shined in that performance a lot, unlike majority of their other performances where it's only about Bekah.
Ain't No Way was incredible as well, but I'm just tired of that song lol. Wildest Dreams or Tennessee Whiskey would be 2nd and 3rd for me. Impossible, Ain't No Way, Inseparable, Everything I Wanted, Falling, Arcade, and Superstar were amazing as well.
Wichita Lineman was also my favorite Knockout (and a candidate for my favorite knockout of all time). It felt very complete, and that’s where I first felt they could win the show. It was my favorite performance of that season.
And yes, the following 2 seasons didn’t have as strong of a Top 5 or Top 10.- 1

I just don’t think those performances were pleasant to listen to. Her tones are so grating, even if they are hitting the notes most of the time. Doesn’t help that I can’t see them as anything other than a novelty act.
I don’t think any of their performances are terrible but I don’t love them. I think not liking tones is the main reason why. Also because they haven’t shown a more serious side outside of their battle, and I don’t like acts that come across as one trick ponies. -

I took a break from IDF after July 2021, and came back just before semi finals, but I did watch the discussion threads and polls later on. I think she was well received, just got over overshadowed by Paris and Jershika. The people who were active at that time can tell better though.
Yeah, I liked that performance from her, and feel that spot is accurate in terms of where I would personally rank it.- 1

I kind of get what you're trying to say. I have also joined the threads for whom I feel like I shouldn't have bc I'm not passionate about those artists.
That's also why I don't make a lot of Fan Threads. I've been on this forum since s18, but I hold only 4 threads. (Two of which are from this season, and one is of a contestant who's from an earlier season [Jordan]). Even Omar's thread wasn't originally made by me, I just requested Jamescasaki later on to switch it.
I feel that the OP should be someone who is very dedicated to that contestant (ex: a person who has them as one of their favorites that season or likes them more than most of IDF). There are many fan threads I wouldn’t mind joining, but being the OP is a higher bar. In terms of just joining threads, I believe you can like and support many contestants in a season, even if you have a horse in the race.- 2

S21 is much closer than the other rounds. Any of the Top 3 would have won the poll in another season (and the #4 was only lower than the S20 winner out of other seasons) but that shows how great the Knockouts were compared to the 2 recent seasons. Not to mention, all of that Top 4 ended up in the finale, which I was very happy about.
-
I probably have. There were contestants whose fan threads I’ve joined where I ended up not liking them in later rounds. I used to join most fan threads back in the day if I liked one performance from the contestant. Now, I’m more selective, and I only join if I really love a performance from a contestant. I also like to wait until I see them on the show because they may not live up to expectations on the show.
One of the reasons why I don’t want to make fan threads is my fear of not liking the contestant’s later performances.

I was picturing her in all 4 chairs at the same time
Would that mean all of Kelly’s favorites would get 4 chair turns?- 5

I agree with the youtube comment that this is definitely the most replayable PO performance. I think there are things I notice each time, like when she goes kinda raspy/scratchy on some of the notes ("mouth" and "care") and then on the final notes in "valentine's day", she stretched them out and kept adding cool things to them (?) idk I don't have the right musical vocabulary for this lol but all the little nuances in it I thought she did it perfectly.
Yeah, I think it has more rewatch value than the playoff performances of all of the contestants that advanced that episode- 4

As it should be, because he was better
I thought Ashland had a great BA honestly, but didn't like her others very much.
Yeah, true. I thought based on the trajectory of her run, she should have been eliminated in playoffs. Her KO was overshadowed by Chloe’s and with how stacked Miley’s playoff team was, she really shouldn’t have been in Miley’s T3. She was basically the inverse of Janice, who didn’t have the best audition, but I really liked her run after that -
Charlie Mason was not a fan of Chloe. He gave Landslide a B and Time After Time a C-, both of which should have been at least a full grade higher. He got so much criticism for grading Chloe’s playoff low, he went off on the Chloe fans in his T12 review and gave her performance of Thank You a very forced A+.
I was not used to Charlie Mason at that point, so I would get more frustrated with his grading back then compared to now, where he is basically known for giving hot takes

Anyone else realize that not only did Miley drop the winner of the show while trying to win with a country artist, but her country artist couldn’t beat Adam Cunningham, and he was on Team Adam

Even with the reception here I’m surprised Kala is winning by so much, I thought some people would vote for other options.
I considered voting for NOIVAS because I thought he can use more appreciation, but I liked Kala a little more.
I rewatched NOIVAS’ performance, and I didn’t enjoy it as much as his Knockout. Kala ended up being the only performance I gave a 10 to in the ratings thread this week -

Noah's biggest stan ever don't post much anymore but still comes here from time to time.
I think I know which user you’re talking about. It makes sense because that user is a fan of alternative music -

No, no surprising at all, if anything, very standard from IDF to stan an alternative/indie guy
He was the only male that season that was popular on IDF -
I don’t know whether or not this will surprise people, but Noah had a lot of fans on IDF (the Team Sausage members at the time gravitated toward him a lot). It helped that a lot of users liked alternative music/obscure songs, and he filled that lane during the season

For all those reasons, I don't like season 13 nearly as much as the people here on IDF. I'm well aware that s13 is IDF's favorite season of all time, but that was not for me.
It’s not my favorite either (I prefer S5 and S21 to this)I think the reason why IDF loves this season so much is because of the female talent. Considering you like a lot of male artists, it makes sense why you wouldn’t like it as much.

was he the one who liked Red? Or was that another user? I can’t remember
Hamza wasn’t even on IDF during that time -

Wow... very interesting, very interesting indeed.
Since you asked, I thought Kason was alright, but like you said it was monotonous and dude tackled Daughtry with the tone but not the range and power. The performance was sort of one note.
Yeah, it really was. It didn’t seem like he was feeling the song at all. I would describe the performance as karaoke. I think a big problem is that I really love Chris Daughtry’s voice, and people don’t always realize how difficult his songs are to cover- 1

I’m just relieved that next week will be better. Holly, Ryley and Gina going through should be good, and D. Smooth has potential to give a good performance as well.
