  1. So going in blindly, I'd bet John: Lila > Kaylee > Taylor > Mac > (presuming Kara) Gwen: BIAS > (presuming RUDI) > Tanner > Kristen > Stee Niall: Huntley > Alexa > Nini > Mara > Claudia Reba: Ruby > Jordan > Noah > Jacquie > Tom (but this is pretty much all even except for Ruby above the rest.) We'll have to wait and see for the results.
  2. If you (or that person from the taping) would be willing to talk so we can sort out details, I'd really appreciate it!
  3. So basically, if you are Dalton or thevoiceisthetop... you still technically have a chance to overtake FloorWax! 4. Part 16: 50-41 50. Kat Perkins (Season 6, Gold Dust Woman by Fleetwood Mac) Earlier seasons of the show celebrated singers like Kat more frequently. Kat showed off a ton of personality with this performances and some real major power. If you watch her later performances and go back to this, you can see just how much she was holding back while still truly impressing. The fact that contestants like her are so few and far in between on this show is a damn shame. Hopefully future seasons work out better... and hopefully they don't give them the song picks that they gave Kat. By the way - she KILLED that Daft Punk cover. Let It Go and Chandelier were terrible picks but she still did relatively well there, too. Wish they would've just kept her on that path. 50.Cheating elimination twice would make me reevaluate my artistic direction for my last 3 performances, too. Won the instant save twice, then inexplicably got Daft Punk, Frozen, and Sia for her last 3 songs after showing that classic rock is her genre. Points: @FloorWax 49. Troy Ritchie (Season 7, Out of My League by Fitz & The Tantrums) I've talked a loooooot about Troy on this forum. For a contestant who didn't ultimately make a huge impact on the show, I really love this audition. Like I have it saved on Spotify and it'll come up on shuffle and I'll intentionally listen to it still. His tone's very interesting and lends itself well to a pop-rock/alt track like this and ultimately, I prefer his vocal choicse here over the original version's. I don't know if "geeky" is the right way to describe his performance and stage presence, but it makes this performance really endearing. And if I'm talking about Troy Ritchie, there's a 99% chance I'm talking about his elimination. What a damn unfair shame. He did so well. Wish he got more love for this. 49. Turning this local coach's chair ended up being more than just a dream for this contestant. Refers to Troy being from Orange County, like Gwen. Also refers to the "more than just a dream" opening lyric of his performance. Points: @allistr 48. Matthew Schuler (Season 5, Cough Syrup by Young the Giant) Honestly, that 4-chair turn was probably a bit premature, but definitely warranted by the end. There's a lot to dissect with this one, but to be brief - Matthew was clearly strategic with every vocal choice he made and excelled with a smile on his face the whole time. This was very charismatic and added to the performance for sure! Hearing this kind of alternative pop/rock/whatever you classify it as executed properly on the show was great for this audition and I look back really fondly on Matthew's run. He got a really diverse selection of songs and I'm surprised he didn't end up in the finale. 48. It took four spoonfuls of sugar for this contestant. If a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine (cough syrup) go down, it must've been really sweet to get four chair turns with this song. Points: @QueenCami 47. Zan Fiskum (Season 18, Light On by Maggie Rogers) In the aftermath of [upcoming ranked contestant's] thrilling victory on the show, I feel that selecting Zan was a phenomenal decision by casting/production. She delivered a confident and sincere rendition of "Light On" and was a sneakily strong contestant throughout her run. Her tone is gorgeous and ethereal and I really gravitate towards it since she manages to use it so effectively. COVID really screwed this season up, but in spite of all the hardships the cast had, I feel like Zan's run was one of the best examples of making the most out of a complicated situation. 47. Singing this song must've made this contestant and their coach a pair of happy campers, since they heard it in a past life. Refers to Zan living in a camper. Also refers to Maggie Rogers' album "Heard It In A Past Life" Points: @FloorWax 46. Reina Ley (Season 22, Cielito Lindo - Traditional) Hearing the first 3 seconds of this song unexpectedly on The voice gave me whiplash because this song really hits me on a personal level (and truthfully, I was already really sentimental around the time this first aired for certain reasons), so it brought tears to my eyes. I'm used to hearing this with the whole mariachi behind the singer, so to hear this 13-year old girl command the stage and sing this that well and that confidently was such a delightful surprise. She doesn't seem like much compared to other young vocalists, but she clearly knows her voice pretty well and I think this audition is very worthy of a high ranking, even if a lot of it may be personal bias. Just incredible. 46. The laws by which a queen rules? "Reina" = Queen; "Ley" = Law Points: @Dalton Eduardo 45. Ricky Duran (Season 17, River by Leon Bridges) I wasn't initially sure what kind of artist Ricky was trying to be with this audition, but he was able to show how deserving he was to be on the show in the first place. To see him stay on the soulful/bluesy/rock path on the show after this introduction was great, especially when the show had been a bit scarce in that department for a couple seasons at that point. He provided an incredible vocal to a more piano-heavy rendition of this great ballad with awesome build-ups to even more awesome moments. He was my definite favorite going into the finale and I'd hoped he would've run away with the victory. 45. This contestant was offered a vacation by their coach. All-expenses paid? No, but almost! Blake "invited" Ricky to go to his river (aka take him to the finale.) He did get there, but didn't achieve the ultimate end of winning the competition. Points: @Dalton Eduardo 44. Kelsea Johnson (Season 14, Like I'm Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor & John Legend) Kelsea truly elevated this cheesy pop ballad by giving it a soulful touch. I know she wasn't technically a young teen when she performed this, but she sounded grown and gave so much power and depth to this vocal that wasn't there before. Very impressive! So many wise choices were made in this performance and I'm kind of surprised that it still sticks out to me all of these years later. Between this and delivering what I still think is definitely the most competent vocal for "Rise Up" we've had, it's a shame that we've left this girl from so many of our conversations. She's so damn great. 44. A sad French operatic solo? She goes by "Aria Bleu" for her singing now. Aria = sad operatic solo; Bleu = French. Points: @FloorWax 43. Regina Love (Season 9, Rock Steady by Aretha Franklin) Ms. Don't-Ya-Just-Love-It nailed this Aretha tune. There was plenty of fun personality and fire in her vocals and she maintained this throughout her entire run. Her impressive growl on top of all of that soul made her a memorable addition to the cast and I love the older contestants on the show being respected while still feeling fun and fresh. The rest of her pretaped run was excellent and even got her a viral TikTok moment (which is more than most of the hundreds of youngsters that have been on this show can say!) What a great audition to look back on! 43. The record this contestant held was eventually broken by twelve... twelve seasons later. Regina had the largest gap in age compared to their battle partner (29 years older than Jordan Smith) until Jim Allen broke this record in Season 21 vs Sohpia Bromberg (41 years older) Points: @FloorWax 42. Kim Cruse (Season 22, Best Part by Daniel Caesar & H.E.R.) Soulful R&B singers have a great track record on this show for going for in the competition (but not winning... I'll leave my thoughts about that on its designated thread though...) Kim is one of them, but the raspiness in her voice is very unique and sets her apart from all these other powerhouses and vocal beasts from her genre that make a great impression almost every time. I admire her decision to go softer and slower for the audition rather than just showing off her full range that soon. Very well-deserved four chair and she easily deserved a finale spot as well. 42. Idolforums is a notoriously impatient fanbase, but production played with our hearts, brains, and minds with their treatment of this contestant. Production kept us WAITING til the last week to see her very hyped up blind audition. Also she sang "Heartbreak Anniversary," "Love On the Brain" and "Always On My Mind" during her run. Points: @FloorWax 41. Felicia Temple (Season 12, All I Could Do Was Cry by Etta James) Felicia is absolutely stunning here. Taking on such an iconic song and not overdoing it is a pretty hard task. Instead of going for the rooftops, Felicia gave a graceful vocal presentation and looked so classy and elegant while doing it. Adam had absolutely zero excuse not to turn here. Perhaps even more memorable about Felicia is how mishandled and mistreated she was on her run. Losing to a 13-year old in battles, losing a knockout where she did excellent on one of the hardest songs ever, then not getting a deserved spot in the top 12 after an equally fantastic playoff performance... ugh. I've complained about several contestants' treatments on the show, but Felicia may have had the worst luck of all. Stunning introduction to this wonderful vocalist, though! 41. Some contestants put their career on hold to participate on the show, but this singer did the exact opposite long after their appearance Felicia put her singing career on hold to return to nursing during the early COVID era. Hero stuff! Points: @FloorWax
  5. Can we trick the Kelly fans into thinking that's accurate so that way we can actually get people to show up to Season 25 tapings
  6. At this point, it seems to be Eli. But there’s a couple who still posted about the show (Colby, Walking Eagle, Kaitlyn), but those are still likely non-chair turners. We’ll have to wait and see.
  7. Wait I just realized that. Gwen how does Kristen + Juliette = Celine? Make it make sense, Stefani.
  8. Not sure yet, but yes I'm hoping we just get 1 team per taping to avoid confusion. They could've done 1 per taping very feasibly last season, I have no idea why they made it more complicated last time
  9. True but the bar’s been pretty low for that song unfortunately
  10. Eenie-meenie-minie-moe had me pick Ruby over Alexa. Reba for sure. Still waiting for a few weeks to judge. It's an interesting selection they picked for week 1 but everyone seems very capable and deserving of a chair turn so far, which is more than I can say about some other seasons.
  11. I Want to Be a CowboyΒ΄s Sweetheart: Gracia Harrison (s3), Rachel Messer (s15), Ruby Leigh Hopelessly Devoted to You: Rowan Grace (s22), Juliette Ojeda Dream a Little Dream of Me: Amy Vachal (s9), Livia Faith (s14), Preston C. Howell (s17), Julia Roome Forget You: Nakia (s1), VJ Rosales (s3), AYVIO Beneath Your Beautiful: Matthew Schuler (s5), Karina Mia (s6), Ethan Butler (s7), T'alia Scott (s9), Addison Agen (s13), Brynn Cartelli (s14), Ephraim Owens
  12. I'm 100% onboard with censoring his name but as a community I think we can do a hell of a lot better than just putting N followed by 5 *'s. I tried doing that last season before any of the chaos but stopped bc I realized how unfortunate that looked... It's just bad optics. But back to your video: Yes, fantastic performance! And I did actually enjoy it more than his.
  13. Not sure. I think he mentioned something last night about really wanting a country guy.
  14. Ms. Monet turned 3, I don’t remember if they implied how many Tom turned in that post, and I believe Bk mentioned something about Caitlin with multiple chairs, but not sure
  15. 1. Ruby 2. Ephraim 3. Jenna 4. Julia 5. Juliette
  16. Not on our end (we only know 8 chair turns from our own spoilers) but that one article from that Hollywood whatever website mentioned Reba getting a 1-chair in the first taping.
  17. blocks next week, John got blocked either once or twice (not sure if it was the same one just shown twice), and one time it was a 4-chair. Seems like Niall blocked.
  18. This. I liked his audition more than most of IDF seemed to, but his voice is begging to do a rock song instead of this.
  19. Catching up on the earlier auditions and Ruby's 100% the best version of I Want to Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart we've had. It's not even close.
  20. angsty pop, bordering into pop-punk. I do really like olivia but she's a harder one to replicate without it sounding a bit off
