Not only is the set low budget, they are all there to perform solo. They used to have the coach duets on Monday and get a guest celeb to sing with each finalist on Tuesday. The scaled-downess of the finale is really quite sad.

We don’t know what the rules were for the round. I have noticed that the first audition tends to get a lot of originals, and then later on, but in HW there just aren’t as many. It may have to do with there being an audience for showcase. It’s a lot harder to get the crowd going with a completely unfamiliar song.
