  1. Cassadee Pope is featured in a Rolling Stone article about her musical journey, from pop punk to country and back again. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/cassadee-pope-leaves-country-music-hey-monday-1234934752/
  2. It’s crazy to me that she hasn’t headlined her own tour since “I Hope” broke big. Support slots can only take you so far. Eventually you have to tour on your own name, even if the venues are smaller.
  3. Partway through the clip, Luke is on stage talking about how more of the singers than usual were overwhelmed by the process this year. That does not bode well for the T24 performances.
  4. LeAnn is essentially a child prodigy. Her first single, Blue, was released when she was 13 and she/it won several Grammys.
  5. I still say he should have picked Shakira as his coach. She was the patron saint of raspy voices. She would have brought him to the lives for sure!
  6. It’s more of an exhibition than a genuine competition. All the acts are receiving appearance fees. Loren was given 2 “sneak peek” videos which guaranteed that her performances would receive boosts in video counts.
  7. I find it so bizarre that Dan + Shay are considered unknowns on IDF. Most of their hits crossed over to Pop and they had a huge collaboration with Justin Bieber that coincided with his wedding.
  8. LeeAnn is probably known more in the UK for her messy personal life.
  9. Maddi Jane has something in common with Cam Anthony. She also appeared on the Ellen show as a precocious kid.
  10. Holy crap! “People” was the #10 song in the U.K. for all of 2023 https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/end-of-year-singles-chart/
  11. They sent it to radio, so it’s getting airplay in addition to the streaming.
  12. Cassadee Pope appeared on Good Morning America this morning, singing guest vocals with Yellowcard.
  13. No one is in the lives yet since the next round is being filmed at Aulani Resort in February and not aired until April.
  14. That’s how they roll. Always doing the most to be the least helpful.
  15. Not only is the set low budget, they are all there to perform solo. They used to have the coach duets on Monday and get a guest celeb to sing with each finalist on Tuesday. The scaled-downess of the finale is really quite sad.
  16. We don’t know what the rules were for the round. I have noticed that the first audition tends to get a lot of originals, and then later on, but in HW there just aren’t as many. It may have to do with there being an audience for showcase. It’s a lot harder to get the crowd going with a completely unfamiliar song.
  17. Gabby Barrett’s family were pretty awful.
  18. Blake was NOT a household name in America when he got the Voice gig. He was pretty unknown outside of country music circles. If the stories are true, they asked Reba (and probably a lot of other country artists) to do it before they offered it to Blake.
  19. The line between uptempo and ballad is pretty nebulous on the show, so I’m just suggesting songs and people can put them in whatever category they think fits. Lila— Carnival by Natalie Merchant, Love Song by Sara Bareilles Duet—Ordinary People by John Legend Jacquie—Angel of the Morning by Juice Newton Duet—Because of You by Kelly Clarkson and Reba Huntley—Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood by the Animals (slowed down version a la Nina Simone), One Headlight by the Wallflowers Mara—Same Old Love by Selena Gomez, Harden My Heart by Quarterflash Ruby—I’m Sorry by Brenda Lee
