5. Adam Lambert

(New Entry)

Lambert shattered the glass closet of American Idol, arguably ruining the show itself in the process (this seasonís mealymouthed class merely played catch-up), and his kinky American Music Awards performance forced ABC to break out its rule book. His Rolling Stone cover was the magís best seller of 2009, and midrange domestic debut sales of For Your Entertainment are only the launching pad for an international career. Who did we talk about before?

Good write up. Who did we talk about before? What did I use to do with my free time?? haha.gif

Adam gave Out magazine a snap and a slap and they got more press than they could have ever hoped for, just shows you stupid sometimes has its rewards.

When I read articles and interviews from the various GLBT media outlets and organizations it seems they have a lot of basic disagreements on what they want and who their role models should be or not be. Which I suppose makes sense - some want more outing, some no outing, some too gay, some not gay enough. What I don't understand is not supporting someone like Adam who is trying to do something to break new ground and do it in a way that encourages other young people to be themselves and happy, not in a closet somewhere pretending to be something else.

I agree. Adam has mentioned (GLAAD) that he'd like to see more diversity within the gay community. I just wish everyone would be more accepting and less judgemental overall. Can't we all just get along? heart.gif
