It really is something. I usually prefer the females too, but this is too much bias, even for me! The Voice section is also heavily weighted toward the females, but not like this.

1. Triston - I’ll keep him her for now, but if he has another performance like he had Monday night, I may have to move him down. 2. Will - He’s been the most consistent performer of the top 10, and Facebook loves him. 3. Abi - Facebook might not love her, but nobody below has earned to right to be in this spot. 4. Mia - Flying under the radar. She needs to give voters a reason to move her up. She doesn’t need vocal firepower, just great song choices, and solid performances. 5. KB - She’s been very inconsistent, but appears to have a sizable dedicated fanbase. 6. Emmy - She doesn’t have a lot of vocal firepower, but it absolutely does help that her grandmother is the undisputed queen of country. 7. Kayko - He seems to have carved out a nice niche for himself, but I don’t sense that the ceiling is high. Under the right circumstances, he could finish higher than this. 8. Jack - See description for Kayko. 9. Julia - She’s been mostly solid, and has the powerhouse lane to herself now. 10. McKenna - I feel like she’s in trouble, and needs to bounce back in a big way.

You’re also flying under the radar, which is good. The haters are currently focused on some of the others. An all-country finale is my dream for this season. I’ll be a huge fan if you can help make that happen. Look at it this way. Very few predicted you would get this far. I’ll bet you didn’t either. Just relax, and go for it. You have nothing to lose.

I’ll state my preferences, but I’m also going to be brutally honest about what I’m seeing. There’s a good chance most of this forum will disagree, but that’s nothing new for me. 1. Will - He’s been the most consistent performer by far. I usually don’t support male country singers on these shows, but I made an exception here. He’s that good. The best his detractors can hope for is that he picks bad songs, because he’s probably not going to miss vocally. 2. Abi - Things start to thin out for me after Will. Some of those I had ranked higher than Abi really stumbled this week. I have concerns that minivan isn’t taking to her. Facebook stats haven’t looked great, other than the performance in the pimp spot with a great song choice (and great performance). 3. Mckenna - I almost don’t feel like she deserves to be ranked this high after these last two performances, but I can’t put anyone else above her. I know she was sick, but she had a shaky performance in Hollywood too. I don’t know whether her vocal cords will be able to withstand the rigorous schedule. 4. Mia - She’s been more vocally consistent than most of those below her, but I feel like there are limits to what she can do vocally and I don’t sense that she is 100% confident in what she’s doing. 5. Triston - Wow, I wasn’t expecting such a letdown performance, like the one we got on Monday. It wasn’t just a pitchy note or two. The entire performance was off. I’d say there a decent chance it won’t be the last time it happens. 6. Emmy - She’s very likable, and passionate about what she does, but there isn’t enough vocal firepower for this. She’ll probably last another week or two. 7. KB - The vocal issues are obvious, so I won’t beat that dead horse. She can be entertaining, and with the right song, can convey emotion in a way that most others can’t. That’s why she’s still there. 8. Julia - Mostly solid vocals, occasionally a little messy. Still rather green. 9. Kayko - He can be entertaining, but vocally, he’s probably the worst in the top 10. 10. Jack - same performance every week with different lyrics. I usually unintentionally tune out the performance, and when it’s over, I couldn’t even tell you what song he sang. Seems like an alright dude, though. Just not my cup of tea.

I do believe it’s just a one time thing…crazy performance in the pimp spot that draws a lot of attention, and maybe a few extra votes this week.

Also, here’s a copy of my preference ranking from last week. I’m not sure I’ve reached “fan” status, but I like her more than everyone below her. Some of her fans make it very difficult, though. She’s the right gender, but wrong genre, so I don’t think she’ll ever achieve “it girl” status here.

Let’s be real, you’re more than a little biased. Which is understandable, if you’re actually her aunt. I understand what she meant, but it would have been best unsaid, IMO.

At this point, it appears as though Kayko will stay on top for FB likes on his performance video. Should he now be viewed as a contender?

True, but she’s not one of the “it girls.” I actually don’t dislike the it girls. McKenna has long been a favorite of mine, I had Abi ranked fairly high in my top 14 preference ranking, and KB seems fine, even though I’m not into her tone.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. It made her less likable and less relatable in that moment.

Abi to Gene Simmons: “…rock and roll was the Devil’s music.” A couple things on this…. 1. I wonder what Gene thought about this? He seemed a little taken back by it. 2. More importantly, how did the audience perceive it? It seems like something that would have been better left unsaid in that situation. That was an unforced error, IMO.
