  1. I'm wondering if the "plan" is to have the single peak at the same time as the album coming out. That could be the reason it seems like the updates haven't been great because its not really being pushed as much as it could be. If that's true, that likely means the artists close to Scotty that keep changing positions such as Lainey, Jordan, &/or Tyler might push first to #1. If that is the plan, I would be wary that Bailey or Kenny behind Scotty have great updates while Scotty's single "is in a holding position."
  2. I can't see Jack making it far, but I could see Kayko making it or at least he has a better shot. Kayko is doing well on Idol's FB. He's one of the auditions with good likes, views, etc. Also, some of these auditions with a lot of FB likes & views we know didn't make Top 24. The contestants who are doing well on Idol's FB are mostly expected such as Abi, Blake, Emmy, Will, etc.
  3. Agreed. I feel like they should end auditions before the Oscars air so the episode after the Oscars should be the first Hollywood episode.
  4. I know Benson is very popular so some might see it as an example to drop out of Idol & it can lead to better opportunities. However, Benson had good connections when he dropped out. He knew & eventually worked with Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons who eventually signed him to his label. Groundwork is a small company that hasn't had any artists of note. I feel like it's a risk to sign with them. She was not edited out of episodes. However, did Idol promote her a lot on their social media like they are doing with Abi/Blake/KB? I think why some people think they are still in the competition is why push them still on social media as basically your "frontrunners" if the show knows they dropped out?
  5. Even if BBR is interested, Groundwork signed them first. Also, if they stay in the competition considering Groundwork didn't want Idol on their social media or associated with them what would they do next? It's a messy situation.
  6. I didn't know that Groundwork asked for them to remove Idol from their social media. That does make me think both dropped out. I didn't think both dropped out because this is such a small company. I would think if contestants really are considering dropping out trying to get a better deal with more better label/management especially since I think both have the potential to.
  7. Is it possible Groundwork is the new management this season for any Idol contestants they are interested in? It would explain why Abi & KB are able to stay in the competition & why they're following several contestants.
  8. I don't think its usual. I think it happened for HunterGirl, but she was a platinum ticket winner so I think she could have received "special treatment" anyway.
  9. Not surprised Will's doing well on iTunes. Just last week, Benson Boone had 6 different versions besides the original of "Beautiful Things" on iTunes. Ariana Grande released 14 versions of her current single, "Yes, And?." It's to help boost #'s for streaming/sales because they all count towards the original song's #'s.
  10. Agreed. Warren wasn't unlikeable. I think Colin was more of an aw shucks/green guy which was similar to Noah Thompson, but Colin doesn't have a backstory which hurt him. Blake seems likeable, but pop guys don't generally do well with the voters so we'll see.
  11. Warren was better than Colin, but Colin IMO had more likeability which does probably factor in with voters & the audience. Will is likeable. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins because he's the typical artist the audience votes for. Also, he's someone I wouldn't be surprised gets signed especially since he can write his own music which is important in country.
  12. Not what I expected from Kenedi. I like pop, but don't really like this. I'm surprised she self-released after all this time & the couple of Benson Boone shows she opened.
  13. About 20 minutes ago, Idol's FB page just posted again Abi's audition. I would think if she is seriously considering withdrawing then the show wouldn't repost Abi's audition.
  14. BMG's country label is BBR Music Group (imprints are Broken Bow, Wheelhouse, etc.). That's the label mostly known for Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, etc. They are technically considered an independent label, but are one of the major independents in country (similar to Big Machine). They have over 20+ artists on their entire roster. So far, their labels have signed Chayce Beckham, HunterGirl, Noah Thompson, & Colin Stough. Haven was supposedly signed. I don't think a label has been announced, but considering her Christian background I could see her still going into country. The other alums signed such as Fritz, Casey Bishop, etc. were only signed to 19. There was no other label affiliated with their music.
  15. I can understand why contestants drop out of the competition if there are better opportunities such as a record deal. Since Idol no longer guarantees a record deal even for the winner, why should a contestant stay if they are getting record deal offers without continuing in the competition? Idol no longer has numerous contestants signed to actual labels anymore. The few contestants signed each year are either only country contestants or only signed to Idol's 19 which really isn't doing much for those signed. Even if KB or Abi didn't drop out, they aren't country. Will BMG sign them? They have only signed country contestants.
