congrats Gina! Since I started watching The Voice, Gina is the first winner I really dug. Her performances kept getting better. I have a feeling that Niall had something to do with this -- he must have sensed that she could lock into Irish intensity a la Sinead O'Connor, and recall that her cover of All I Want is by an Irish band. Come on, the outfit even!

The All I Want cover by Gina was toneful but her microphone pick-up was echoing and modulating, so vocals were drifting in and out, like it was recorded outdoors, or in a gymnasium. Might have fixed a little on the YouTube, but live on TV the vocals almost sounded muted ... in contrast, listen to the next.

The Cunningham Sisters gave the challenging song Oceans a go this last week. The adoreable younger sis has a DeAnna-like tone in her voice. Here is DeAnna's cover of Oceans from S8: And her longer studio version, in which the first half of the song finds her climbing the scale in a breathtaking way IMO.
