I think it’s definitely personal. Remember how she mentions people calling her fat on social media? That included one of his school chums.

Okay, that makes sense! If those fans of his are Idol watchers from earlier seasons, that's what they would come to expect. Then, season 10 comes along with the top two being close in age, in the same genre, and signed to the same label. ( I'm so relieved she's no longer with the label they didn't want her signed with from the outset!) I don't get it......I think Lauren, and fans like myself, think of the creative arts as a place of abundance, plenty of success to go around. And, no question, he's had plenty of success.....multiple residences...a life of leisure...and songs that go to #1, but let something good happen for Lauren, and they throw a fit.

How well timed was that? Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of RLT going number one, so I'm not surprised she talked about it I'd like to hear more about this season 1 winner take all model! I don't remember that! How long did that setup last? Who would want to sign up for American Idol if as a top finisher, but not the winner, you were prohibited from releasing music? It's my understanding that, at least in Lauren's season, that the record label who was doing the winner's contract had first right of refusal on the other top finishers before they were free to sign with another label. Mercury Nashville wanted to sign Lauren as well, she signed to the label, so, another offense as far as the Scotty fans were concerned. But yeah, they're also ungracious stans.

For sure! I think the only thing that would have pleased this particular crowd of harpies would have been for Lauren to have faded into obscurity after Idol. This has been a long held grudge. They're the ones who inspired Road Less Traveled...

The pairings make sense to me, but anytime Lauren's name comes up in the same sentence with his, there are a subset of his fans who will take shots at her in his threads (not hard to find) and on other social media. Anytime something good happens for her, they will find reason to grouse over it. Prior to the duet being announced, recent offenses include mentoring on this season of Idol, and getting inducted into the Opry.......

Last night saw a dream come true! Lauren has been invited to become the next member of the Grand Ole Opry! God Bless Us, Everyone!!

I have been watching some of the old Idol episodes from season ten and had forgotten that Paul McDonald was eliminated as early as he was, the week after Pia was. I would say that Paul has probably been her most enduring friendship from the Idol era.

Hard to believe it's been 10 years! I listened to a podcast she did with Caroline Hobby recently and it was really good. New single will be Getting Over Him in February. Good choice, excited for her! cheers!
