~*8Kay8*~ Posted January 5, 2020 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Laguna Beach I feel like I should be playing “Come Clean” by Hillary Duff on loop as I write this... “Let’s go back, back to the beginning...” Back to when I was in high school and everyone I knew was obsessed with this show and I could not for the life of me get into it. I never really got attached to any of the characters, and the weird scripted-non scripted hybrid wasn’t something I enjoyed. Anyways, the show aired on MTV from 2004-2006 and focused on a group of high school students navigating school, friendships, and relationships. The original protagonist was Lauren Conrad, and focused mainly on her dealings with Lo, Stephen, Kristin, and several other juniors and seniors at the school (with a heavy focus on the love triangle between Lauren/Stephen/Kristin). For the second season, Kristin Cavallari took over as the lead character and narrator. And the third season (which I honestly forgot had happened) had a whole new group of students, with Tessa Keller being the main focus. Ultimately, the show led to many spin offs, The Hills being the one I am most familiar with. I apologize if anyone really loves this show, as I do know many people who do. It is the definition of a guilty pleasure, but I honestly found all of the main characters too unlikeable to really ever get into it. Also, it gave really unrealistic expectations of high school life, as mine was super boring by comparison. Not an all-time favorite of mine, just something I really enjoyed back when it aired. It's an sketch show, created by Dave Chappelle and Neal Brennan, with Chappelle acting as host and starring most of the sketches. It aired on Comedy Central from 2003 to 2006, and had 2 full seasons and a weird short af 3rd season (this was due to Chappelle leaving the show, also it was severely delayed already when it finally aired, and consisted of just 3 episodes). The show also featured music, mostly soul and hip-hop. I don't really know what else to say, so if anyone that's a fan wants to add something else, be my guest. I thought I was the only one here who even heard of The 10th Kingdom, so I was glad when I found out you were a fan of it too. If I was a player in this game, then The 10th Kingdom would’ve been one of my immunity picks. I like the show that much.
