*Chris Posted December 31, 2019 Share Posted December 31, 2019 qNZA98rB4bc My cut for this round is American Odyssey, a TV show that aired on NBC for one whole season until it got cancelled due to poor ratings & negative reviews. What is American Odyssey? The best way to describe it is by calling it a cheap version of "Homeland". But in all seriousness, the show is about Sergeant Odelle Ballard who is on a mission in Mali - her unit suffers an attack where she is the sole survivor even though everyone expects her to be deceased. Throughout the show, Odelle is racing against the clock to get to safety after she found some information about a major corporation - she meets Aslam who is helping throughout all of this. Along the way, they run into obstacles and there's this guy named Luc whom is a french drug dealer - he basically threw her under the bus where everyone was seeking her. At the end of the series, she finds herself in Spain where she makes a brave decision to disappear with her family after she reveals the secret information she found... Overall, the show wasn't bad but it was not Homeland and it was clear that the producers didn't expect it to be cancelled as it ends with Odelle returns to the USA disguised as a journalist. *Wallace Posted December 31, 2019 Share Posted December 31, 2019 Inside No. 9 There were two shows I was debating on cutting, (this one vs. Damages) but I went with Inside No. 9 because there are less people I recognize in it. I’m sure this is a fine cut as no one rushed out to save it or requested safety for it, so yeah. Inside No. 9. Inside No. 9 is a British black comedy anthology that premiered on February 5, 2014. It current has 4 seasons, 25 episodes and is still on the air. The show only airs 6 episodes per season and also has a special. Inside No. 9 was created, written by and stars Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton. Two guys I’ve never heard of. Each episode is 30 minutes and is a self-contained story with new characters and a new setting per episode. Although each episodes does have one of or both of Reece and Steve in them - but the rest of the stars are new to each episode. The stories are linked and related in some way to the number 9 and has a brass hare statue in the background in the episodes. The themes and plot lines differ per each episode but contains comedy, horror or perverse humor in all of the episodes. Inside No. 9 is noted for having a lot of critical acclaim success with various award wins and nominations for instance…. The show won the Sketch and Comedy prize at the 35th annual Banff World Media Festival Rockie Awards, and won the comedy prize at the 2016 Rose d'Or ceremony. It received various nominations for the Best TV Sitcom prize at the 2014 Freesat Awards, the Broadcast Award for Best Original Programme, and at the 2014 British Comedy Awards for both the Best New Comedy Programme and the Best Comedy Drama. The show proved to be a huge favorite at the Comedy.co.uk Awards where it was voted "Best TV Comedy Drama" in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, and was named "Comedy of the Year" in 2017. Some very impressive stats. Not sure if this is a show I would be interested in but it could be for some rankers. As always, I will provide a video for your viewing pleasure. Damages is classified in the following genres: crime, serial drama, mystery, triller and legal drama. From what I can tell its a lawyer show. The main person is Glenn Close <3. Other cast members include: Rose Byrne, Ted Danson, Tate Donovan, Željko Ivanek and Noah Bean. Glenn Close plays Patty Hewes. The show ran for 5 seasons before being cancelled. The premise of the show is that there’s hidden cameras where people are filmed to see how they would react in certain situation - the situation often involves conflict or illegal activity in a public setting; it's mainly about prejudice towards certain group of individuals. One recent example was when Nyle from ANTM was on it where he played a restaurant goer who wanted to order but the waiter was something else - he made a scene that Nyle was unable to hear or speak. Eventually, John comes out and tell people that they are on the show, and proceed to ask them why they chose to act the way they did. Anyway, this TV show is one that you watch there’s nothing on TV so I doubt anyone will be sad with this cut. She is looking forward to a perfect life after getting engaged to her fiancé Nick, played by Tone Bell. But her life is thrown into chaos when her out of countries teenage half sister moves in with her and her estranged father Freddy, who is a police detective, come back into her life. Well I guess That’s why you don’t let estranged or crazy people back into your life in the first place. It was cancelled after one season by CBS and only had an approval rating of 40% on Rotten Tomatoes so doesn’t look like a big loss. vee_ Posted January 1, 2020 Share Posted January 1, 2020 OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB I know this anime because I did watch a lot of animes when I was young. My best friend loved them so I got hooked because she kept watching them. This is not one of them though. I’m sure I saw a lot of episodes of this one but I just didn’t like it. The show is about Haruhi Fujioka, a scholar student at the school, and the other members of the popular host club which is so weird because it’s basically being an escort if I remember correctly but without the sex. The host club has six male students and they entertain female “clients” with sweets and tea. Haruhi destroys something very important like a vase or something and must work off the debt as the club’s errand boy. THERE’S A TWIST THOUGH! Haruhi is a girl! She has short hair and very ambiguous facial features and they mistaked her for a male student. The members of the club figure her out though but they still accepted her because she is natural at entertaining girls, promoting her into a host and not just an errand boy anymore. I don’t remember much of the show but I think at some point each one of the hosts had a crush on Haruhi. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s how it usually goes in this kind of anime. Anyway, it had a movie too a few years ago so there’s that. I know it’s a big hit in Asia but I just don’t think this is an outstanding anime. Buh-bye!
