My favorite part is the beautiful irrelevant gif hahahahaha

It counts. It's the first gif when you search his name

It's not even from the same season as his :dead:

I don't know him.

It's Wally's nomination?

How many tap dancers did he nominate? :'(

I don't even know. :dead:

CURTIS HOLLAND

IPB Image

Curtis Holland is a tapper from the tenth season of So You Think You Can Dance. He was one of the lesser entities in a strong cast, so I have no qualms about cutting him here. It also didn't help that he dragged professional Derek Hough beard Hayley Erbert down for the three routines they had together. If anything, his shining moment in season ten was being injured the week that he was so Hayley could show off her ballroom skills with a professional and turn me into from a hater into a stan in a manner of seconds. (Hayley, that is. Not Curtis.) Since Curtis made the Top 14 over BluPrint and Carlos, who both deserved it far more, he was brought onto tour as an alternate. I'm pretty sure this was just so they could let Aaron do a tap routine with the underappreciated Alexis Juliano and him. But whatever, he didn't really matter much to that season's elimination order in the grand scheme of things, and since T*cker SOMEHOW made it to the Top 8, he wasn't even the biggest overstay on the male side of things that year.

Amanda, Andrew and I will be leaving for Christmas for two weeks tomorrow night. We'll still be able to check in to do our write-ups, but I won't be as active as I usually am while Andrew will probably be as active as he currently is.

The only good thing Curtis did for Hayley was not being able to dance this routine with her :*

Actually I forgot about this routine but my point still stands otherwise.

Loved both of those routines. The second routine did nearly make me not nominate Curtis but..... didn't quite get me to do so.

Madison Jordan

IPB Image

Well since Madison got saved twice before and mostly because of her “hot boyfriend” rather than her own merits it seems, I think it’s fine to cut Madison on her own for now. :haha: Rei got a bit of a tough category and while I like most of the nominees, I know it could have been a lot worse sooo thanks Rei for not making this round too brutal.

Madison Jordan is a Contemporary dancer from the IDF very beloved Season 16. :giggle: I wish I could go through and say all of her dances but wow wiki’s page of Season 16 is a HOT MESS and not so easy to glance through and read. :) But I will go through this. Madison was partnered with Ezra Sosa. They danced a Contemporary to “Lost” (choreographed by Talia Favia), a Jazz to "You Can Leave Your Hat On,” (choreographed by Ray Leeper, which I found to be one of the more overrated routines of the season ), Hip-Hop to “Space” (choreographed by Randi & Hef), an Argentine Tango to “Despues Que Te Fuiste (A Daniel Berard)” (choreographed by Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo), “bad guy” Contemporary group routine with Gino, Mariah and Benjamin (choreographed by Talia Favia), a Jazz to “Can’t Rely On You” (choreographed by Mandy Moore) and a Disco to "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" (choreographed by Dorian Sanchez).

So wow that is a lot of routines. She made it all the way to the Final 6 and just missed out on making the finale. Gosh, I never thought of what my favorite dance of hers was but thinking of it now, I would have to save it’s her “Lost” Contemporary. I remember that being the best dance of the first live show, which wasn’t really live actually…. but that was a very pretty and moving dance! And even if I kinda shaded her Jazz, that dance was still good and probably my second favorite from her. But linking her Contemporary!

JAY JAY DIXONBEY

IPB Image

This routine was somehow performed twice that season.

Jay Jay Dixonbey is a contemporary dancer from the fifteenth season of So You Think You Can Dance, who was eliminated in sixth place alongside Darius Hickman. Meaning that, despite how terrible he was, his partner Jensen Arnold still outlasted him. What a joke. Jay Jay's elimination might've been a mild surprise since I think we all expected him to be in the finale, but Genessy nope'd that from happening. Iconic. Anyway, like I said, Jay Jay was the unfortunate dancer who was saddled with Jensen Arnold as a partner in season fifteen, so he deserves props for doing the best he could to salvage the routines as best as he could despite her attempt at... well, dancing, for lack of a better time, but I've seen dead fish flop with more rhythm that Jensen did in all of the routines Jay Jay had with her. For the first top ten week, Jay Jay and Jensen danced a samba and a jazz. Their jazz was to Elle King and Elle King, sweetie, I'm so sorry your songs were abused in that manner. :ermm: Naturally they were both safe because America's voting that season was a choice and a half (especially on the girl's side, considering how far Jensen made it in the season. :ermm:)

The next week, Jay Jay did a contemporary and an African Jazz alongside Jensen. He was alright in the contemporary I suppose, but Jensen showed us that she couldn't even handle a contemporary like her older sister was at least able to. Their African Jazz also got praise, winning the best routine of that week in the since-lost IDF thread, so I'm not entirely convinced people actually watched the routines that week. :detective: Unfortunately, another week of safety followed for both of them, so J&JJ made us suffer through two more terrible routines. For Top 8 week, we got a jazz (Jensen's third of the season, because Nigel was under the impression she was actually good at them for some reason ) to a Jessie J song (Jessie J, sweetie, I'm so sorry) and then probably the single worst of season fifteen, which was their hip-hop to Cookie'. In a week where Magda and Darius were bussed with Professional Cultural Appropriators Pharside & Phoenix, Jay Jay still wound up with the worser hip-hop routine. Granted, he was at least dancing a hip-hop in that routine, but I don't know what Jensen was doing except making even me of all people pine for the days of Lindsay Arnold doing Teeth.

Naturally, Jay Jay didn't get enough votes after that set of "routines," but since Jensen had like seven thousand sisters of interchangeable hair and facial features, she still managed to ruin that season even more after Cookin happened. For his final two routines, which naturally happened after Nigel already knew he'd be eliminated, Jay Jay was given a jazz with Lauren Froderman that wasn't that great, but at least it was better than the jazz routines he did with Jensen. :* Afterward, Jay Jay and Jensen were given a Tahitian routine that was fittingly last seen in season 7 with Lauren Froderman (unless I'm mistaken on this), which I like to think contributed to Jensen ultimately losing out to Hannahlei in a glorious end result.

Jay Jay was subsequently not apart of the Top 4 performance show, but he did return in the finale to reprise some routines. I can't remember them all because Wikipedia doesn't list them, but I'm still scarred from the fact that his partner made us suffer through Cookin' again. That lawsuit is still pending. :)

Anyway, I'm sure Jay Jay is a fine dancer and probably would've been a favourite to win in another season. Well probably not since America doesn't like black people on reality shows anymore. Unfortunately, he was stuck with the one bad link in S15's top ten which kept him from living up to his potential.

Let’s say Melody and Robert were originally there :*
I would've cut Melody in a heartbeat.

speaking of mollee, did you all know that i like her now????
O.o

Who are you and where is the real Megan?

wiki’s page of Season 16 is a HOT MESS and not so easy to glance through and read
I tried to format it like three times and it kept getting reverted back to how it currently is, so I stopped caring to do it because that was more effort than S16 was worth.

Mollee Gray
IPB Image
Again, it’s kind of poetic that I cut Nathan and now I’m cutting Mollee. I won’t recap her entire pre-Top 10 journey again. You can just go read my write up on Nathan for that part. But anyway, Mollee made it all the way to the Top 8 in Season 6, outlasting better female contestants with routines that ranged from mediocre to downright nauseating. As I’ve said before, I think her and Nathan would have benefitted from waiting a few years to audition. I don’t think it was a partnering issue because Mollee was bad even with Russell and Jakob who were both great with every other girl they danced with that season. It doesn’t help that Mollee danced a Jive with Russell and a Waltz with Jakob but even in the Lyrical Jazz and Broadway, which were as close to her style as you could get without being straight up contemporary, she was still mediocre. So I don’t have any regrets cutting her here. She is by far one of the weakest females left so this cut is merited.
