SYTYCD Rankdown 3.0

All of the tour merch had Kaylee listed between Kiki and Logan. You could say they just wanted to go guy/girl but Mark/Dassy/Sydney/Robert were still listed in their elimination order rather than having Mark and Sassy swapped. I also recall one of the judges mentioning they were surprised when they saw the actual vote order because they thought Logan was popular, which implied to me that he was last in the votes as well.

Ooooh veryy interesting insight there. Thanks for this. :haha:

nvm I'm not next :teehee:

it's Wally's turn :flowers:

You can go first though. I'll wait! :teehee:

CHRIS KOEHL

“You can’t let another round just slip through your hands! It’s a yes from me.” - Tyce. For some reason I say variations of that quote all the time. Tyce originally said it to Chris in Vegas Week. Chris auditioned for season 7 and made it on the show in Season 8. I remember him being so happy to make the Top 20, and that was nice. His best moment was dancing in an Emmy nominated routine by Spencer Liff with his partner Ashley Rich. I still think that they didn’t have the best chemistry, and I don’t know which half was more at fault or if it was mutual. Either way, the routine was very good. The other weeks for that couple were pretty forgettable. They were able to save themselves after they danced for their life during the Top 16 eliminations, but their luck ran out and they both went home the next week at Top 14. I think Chris was smart to prepare a couple of really solid DFYL solos and practice them so he could do well. He had a couple of signature moves, and the judges love that stuff. However, I think he had trouble remembering choreography at some points and in the Top 7 guy group and Top 10 guy group there were times when he was noticeably off.

His Instagram says he’s been on Glee, Disney channel, Ellen, and others. He recently got married and is exploring cinematography as another creative outlet.

Peter Sabasino (Season 6)

Peter Sabasino is a Tap dancer from Season 6 of SYTYCD. Season 6 is truthfully one of the weakest casts ever compiled for the show. On top of being one of the weakest casts, Season 6 is truly one of the most forgettable casts as well. Sometimes I wonder if airing in the fall immediately following Season 5 weakened the season/cast, and I'm inclined to believe so. Peter is a perfect example of a really bland and forgettable cast member hailing from Season 6.

The strange format of Season 6 really saved Peter in my opinion. Peter danced a truly awful Nappytabs Hip-Hop routine with Ariana during the first week of the competition. Due to having no results show the first two weeks, Peter avoided falling into the bottom due to any public vote. Especially since the bigger situations of Russell dancing with Melanie and Brandon last minute joining the cast drew any negative attention away from Peter.

Ariana was eliminated, which allowed Peter to partner with Pauline for the remainder of his time in the competition. Peter danced a Wade Robson Jazz routine with Pauline during Top 18 week. IDK. I really oscillate between liking the routine and finding it completely forgettable. Whatever I think on any given day, "Little Green Bag" is definitely the weakest routine choreographed by Wade Robson for the show. Peter survives until Top 16, where the Quickstep with Pauline sealed his fate. Kudos to Peter for choosing to dance his solo a cappella. But probably not the best choice. Peter was eliminated.

He still seems to be dancing and living a good life, which is great to see !I also never found him attractive, sorry Elliott and Andrew. :ph34rwave:

Last time I saw, I didn’t nominate Neil, Robert, Will, Matthew, Paul, Rudy, Edson, Slavik and others bigger favorites of yours when I could have….., so be grateful. :* And you also just nominated a bunch of my faves too.

But yeah with having to nominate all guys, a number of these guys wouldn’t have been my top targets yet but couldn’t nominate my top girl targets, so I had to work with what I had to work with.

Burim Jusufi

IPB Image

He apparently was on a rap battle show too? Interesting. I guess. Well here we go cutting another hip hop dancer. Oops. I don't remember much about Burim other than he didn't last long. I remember the group routine but that is about it as he didn't last long. Goodbye now. Seriously why is he still here? He doesn't belong here. I mean top 18 so wasn't eliminated first I guess that's cool? Why can I not remember anything about him right now. This is so so hard to get to 100 words. I think I did it though..finally. Finally.

Cedric Gardner

IPB Image

Okay so Cedric was a hip hop dancer that competed on season 3 of the show. He was 22 years old at the time meaning that he was already on his 60 by the show's standards. Cedric is from Milwaukee, Winsconsin and was eliminated on July 12, 2007, more than 12 years ago. Yes, im throwing some random facts so I can hit the 100 words mark. He was paired with Faina during the first two weeks. They danced a hip hop and foxtrot, both bad. He danced a contemporary and a salsa with Shauna, both bad too. His only good routines were his solo where he was pretty awesome. I vaguely remember Mary being a jerk to him during the times when she actually cared to judge fairly, but then i also remember how during the finale she said was also one of her favorites dancers of the season, so what is the truth Mary? He got cut on week 4 and finished in the top 14. He looks kinda hot nowadays!!

Stanley Glover
IPB Image

It's kind of poetic that I saved Stanley only a few sets of nominations ago and now I'm cutting him, but of this list, I think he's the one I have the least attachment to. Stanley, like a few others I've cut, is definitely someone that would have benefitted from waiting a few years to auditioning. In search for a picture of him, I watched a few videos of him dancing and his style and technique has definitely matured, which is kind of what was missing for me from him during his time on the show.

In the Season 11 Showcase, he started by dancing a beautiful (but boring) Bonnie Story Contemporary routine with Bridget Whitman. I remember thinking that they had that underdog kind of potential at that point in the season, in the way that Mitchell Kelly and Caitlynn Lawson did. That potential was soon squander though when Stanley was paired with ballroom dancer Malene Ostergaard the next week. Malene was a fantastic ballroom dancer, but the two of them were just an awkward partnership. Malene was the oldest female in the cast (at 25, but definitely had a maturity that made her seem older) and Stanley was one of the youngest contestants (at 19).

The first routine, a Spencer Liff Broadway so dubbed "the phone routine" because of their use of phones & phone cords as props, felt a little all over the place. The end result was that Stanley and Malene were in the bottom where Malene was eliminated and Stanley was paired with Jessica Richens after her partner, Nick Garcia, went home. This pairing seemed better, since they were both young, around the same height and both contemporary dancers. The next week, they had a Tyce Diorio Jazz that fine, but there were at least 5 routines better than them so they ended up in the bottom again and Stanley was eliminated at Top 18 as Jessica's Black Widow curse struck for the second time in as many weeks that season.

As I said earlier, I think it's a shame we didn't get to see more of Stanley, because he does seem to be a good contemporary dancer nowadays but I also think he was young and had some growing to do. Either way, this seems like a fine spot for someone eliminated at the Top 18.
