ADRIANNE WHAT A ICON. I don’t think she was ever nominated either? I might be wrong about that but I don’t think I am. WHAT A LEGEND. She truly started a revolution by being the first ever America’s next top model. She will always be the first and took some iconic shots that I still can remember even years and years later. She was hysterical and a mess but so fun to watch and for me easy to root for because of her messiness. She always brought the entertainment and the strong pictures, easy winner. I am ranking her this high just because I have always had such a soft spot for her.

Adrianne Curry (Cycle 1, 1st Place)

Cycle 1 of America’s Next Top Model wouldn’t have been easy to predict in real time, because there wasn’t an established precedent of what the judges were looking for. They could have chosen anyone in the cast as their winner, yet they went for Adrianne. And what we saw with Adrianne was authenticity, passion, and transformation.

Adrianne entered cycle 1 looking very “pedestrian.” Tyra herself said she didn’t expect Adrianne to make it past casting. Yet she did, and with every week and every photoshoot, she transformed. Yet underneath all the “glitz and glam,” she still retained her authenticity, her chill, and her spunk.

Even though cycle 1’s photoshoots generally left a lot to be desired, Adrianne was a consistent performer. She took good pictures most weeks and nailed quite a few of her photoshoots. People sometimes argue that Elyse or Shannon deserved the win more, but I definitely don’t agree with them. From makeovers on, Adrianne was a force to be reckoned with, and she 100% deserved her win. And that winning moment itself is still one of my favorite moments in ANTM history. Adrianne’s reaction was so real, and seeing her emotion in that moment really struck a chord with me.

It’s a shame that things took a turn with Adrianne after ANTM and she was left hung to dry in more ways than one. Nowadays, she’s living a low key life in the mountains of Montana, and she seems happier than she ever was during her career. I’m glad that despite everything she went through, she managed to come out on “top” in her own way. And that’s what Adrianne is all about -- authenticity and making her own mark.

Adrianne Curry is a motherf*cking legend. The very first winner of Top Model. The one to stick it to Tyra from the very beginning. Ugh. I love Adrianne. Such a rough-around-the-edges personality, genuinely hilarious, sexy, and outspoken, Adrianne really stands out as the first relatable contestant of the Top Model series. Cycle 1 of America's Next Top Model, like most inaugural seasons of any reality show, truly feels raw, unedited, and very experimental. Finding a true star personality and relatable individual within the first season of any television show is a really rare experience. But the first season of ANTM gifted us Adrianne. The tomboy from Chicago. The high-school dropout. From very humble beginnings. That had tried so hard to become a model for so many years only to be scammed. Somebody who had never left the state or country. Straight-shooter. Hilarious. Unfiltered. Down-to-earth. Rational. Real. Who can forget Adrianne's reaction when Elyse chose her to share in the prize of visiting loved ones? Or when Adrianne snuck her way out of the emergency room whilst deathly sick in order to make it to panel? Or when Adrianne quickly composed herself after being sexually assaulted while lost on the streets of Paris in order to finish her go-sees? Watching her jump the turnstile at the metro in Paris while protecting her vag*na? The incredibly funny and iconic friendship she formed with Elyse? Adrianne is simply put - a gem. Still to this day, Adrianne remains one of my favorite reality television contestants of all-time. Adrianne is so authentic and true to herself and her character, I cherish her entire journey during the first season of the show.

As a model? Incredible. Snake photo? Iconic. Reebok ad? Iconic. Black-and-white shot? Iconic. Nude diamonds shot? ULTRA ICONIC. Adrianne made a glorious transformation over the course of the season, and really learned how to refine her beauty and demeanor. But she still talked with a closed mouth, which was really her way of retaining part of who she really is. That is something that still resonates with me to this very day.

Incredible first winner. Deserving Rankdown finalist. Destroyer of Tyrant. Icon. <3


14. Adrianne Curry
I can’t say I’m an Adrianne stan but I respect her as the first winner of ANTM. I think she was the perfect first person to win the show. She represented what Tyra thought she wanted. She’s obviously beautiful but not the most conventionally attractive person in the world. She is a great model but just didn’t have the funds or connections to be discovered before this show. She’d edgy but not bitchy. Of course, Adrianne being the perfect winner is quickly ruined when she wins the show, collects no prizes, calls ANTM out for this bullsh*t, does some nude modeling, and gets blacklisted by Tyra because Tyra loves slutshaming her babies. Thus, Adrianne becomes an even more perfect winner do define what ANTM is. A trainwreck reality show dedicated to exploiting girls for the viewer’s enjoyment.
Adrianne was great on the show and one of my faves of the season! I can’t say she’s an all-time fave of mine, but I hate most of the winners so she’s easily one of my favorite winners ever. I just loved her entire ~vibe~. I definitely just wanted to sit back and grab a beer with her (though I don’t care about Jay & Silent Bob so idk if she would like me :haha:). Just listening to her talk is enjoyable to me. Her lack of public speaking skills would never allow her to win a current season of the show lol. But luckily she was on season one where the show was a remotely serious modeling competition so her inability to do a Hungarian commercial while swimming underwater with duct tape over her mouth wasn’t a challenge on the show yet. I’m sure there are people who love her more that can write more about why she’s great.


ADRIANNE CURRY
Winner from the first season who went to appear on other reality-tv show, notably the Surreal Life… She’s mainly here as I forgot about her over the years & I am surprise she found a way to get into the Top 20, while we were all petty.

The OG ANTM winner, Adrianne Curry is of course quite the huge and memorable name. She’s the first winner ever on ANTM and really quite a deserving winner, even tough I was fully much more rooting for Shannon but I really liked Adrianne. Now while i do like Adrianne, I did struggle with where I was going to rank her….. as I don’t really know where she fits or if this ranking is accurate for me? I decided to give her the #14 spot.

I remember Adrianne having this chip and snarky sarcastic personality, which I do think I quite enjoyed from her. But whoa she was quite a strong photo and had a lot of standout photos, which I will share below.

I also believe Adrianne was one of the few models NEVER nominated in this game, so she’s clearly loved amongst us rankers or none of us really had her in our radar to cut or nominate, so well done and I expected Adrianne to rank quite highly.

Adrianne will always be kind of iconic for being the first winner of America's Next Top Model. I actually quite liked her on the cycle, and I think even more when I rewatched it a few years ago. She may not have been my pick to win, but I do think she had strong photos, including her snake shot, the nude photo, and the black and white beauty shots. I also liked her cool, down-to-earth personality. You could tell how badly she wanted to do well in the competition, and how much the experience meant to her. It's unfortunate there was some drama and a falling out with Tyra after her win, but her title still stands.
