ELLIOTT
01. Toy Story 3 (2010)
Things Toy Story did in this rankdown? THAT. :wub:Toy Story 4 deserved to be here, though. #BlameWally

I've made no secret of what my favourite Disney movie is, or what my favourite DCOM is; I think I've been able to keep under wraps what my all-time favourite Pixar movie is and, as such, what my real favourite Disney release is. As you can tell by my ranking, Toy Story 3 holds that special honour.

I love the Toy Story movies, so after a ten-year gap between entries (even though we could get two Cars films in that time frame... #choices), I was ecstatic to see what TS3 brought us... and boy did this movie deliver. Fittingly enough, this movie came out in the summer between my graduation and going off to college, so I felt an extra connection with this movie. The feelings of outgrowing your toys was extra poignant, as I had spent most of my senior year in high school clearing out most of my unnecessary belongings.

I also didn't expect this film to make me on edge so much as it did, either. The entire sequence of the toys in the garbage pit, facing their mortality and assuming they're all about to die together continues to send me. The first time I watched that in theatres, I was legit gasping and thinking that that was the way Pixar was going to end the movie.

The entire final sequence of Andy giving up his toys is extremely touching, and while I knew he'd have to give up Woody, I still felt my heart break when it initially happened. :broken:

In my opinion, Toy Story 3 was Pixar's finest film, and I'm hoping it will do well in this rankdown.

That gif and scene above is one of the saddest if not the saddest in all of Pixar. :'( The fact that we grew up with these toys and they were heading to their doom was too much for me to handle. I was a sobbing mess in the theater; I had to be consoled. There is a special place in hell for those who ranked this movie below 20. You have no heart and I cannot be convinced otherwise. It's the third and the best Toy Story film in the franchise. I never thought an installment would beat the original Toy Story but Toy Story did THAT. :* The film had a perfect ending a part 4 was not needed especially when Bonnie turns out to be a spoiled brat. :) SPOILERS? Oh, well. It's been out for a few months now. Guess what? Jack died at the end of Titanic sorry to spoil that one too. :bleh: I love this movie so much it even cracked my Top 5 Disney films of all-time shoving Aladdin down to number 4.

Toy Story 3 is a 2010 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is the third installment in Pixar's Toy Story series,[ and the sequel to 1999's Toy Story 2. It was directed by Lee Unkrich, the editor of the first two films and the co-director of Toy Story 2, written by Michael Arndt, while Unkrich wrote the story along with John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton, respectively director and co-writer of the first two films.

The film was and still (!) (!) (!) (!) a representation of my childhood. It was the first Pixar film to hit 1 billion dollars. It would be funny of Toy Story 3 ranked number 3. I hope it outranks the original because it deserves it. Anyone who disagrees has nostalgia bias and needs to be cured asap.

Like I have told Steven, any of my Top 5 films were not compete.

After 10 years, the world was re-introduced to Andy & his toys in 2010 when Disney & Pixar released Toy Story 3 - many individuals believe this movie to be the strongest movie in the Toy Story series. And to that, I somewhat agree as I absolutely love it and it is filled with nostalgia but it doesn’t have the same effect as the original - spoiler: if the original have yet to show up. Anyway, the movie was quite the success and rightfully so - it broke many box office records, receive many accolades at Awards show including a nomination in the Best Picture category at the Academy Awards, and was recognized as one of the best films of the year. So let’s take a look why this movie is beloved by many;

wFbioZJX3C0 d9L3riyAx94

The movie started with a short story like all the other movies which is followed by a montage of Andy’s journey with his toys with the song “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” - the producers decided to really hit us in the feels right then by fading the montage with "As the years go by, Our friendship will never die".

Shortly after this scene, we find out that Andy is going to college where he obviously neglects his toys - the toys are wondering if he will bring them with him to college or what’s not. The toys decide to come with a plan where they call his cellphone to make him look for it - they have it in the toy box with them. My favourite part here is when Rex is all excited because Andy finally hold him, after all these years. As Andy leaves the room, the toys come alive where in a typical Woody fashion, Woody gives everyone a pep talk - their mission is not to be played with but to be there for Andy, forever and always. During this pep talk, they take a moment of silence for their friends that they lost along the way such as Bo Peep :bye2:... Woody ensures to tell everyone that Andy held onto them because he cares for them, and they will get stored into the attic where they’ll be all together. And one day, they will be reunited with Andy because Andy will have kids of his own and Andy may even play with them… Is this realistic? We all know that the beginning of Toy Story is too good to be true.

Andy is in college prep mode so his mom essentially forces him to clean out his stuff - he must decide what must be thrown out, going in the attic, or bringing with him to college. During this time, Molly teases Andy that all of his toys will finally be hers - Andy don’t seem too pleased with this idea. Then Andy’s mom asks him a similar question - “What are you going to do with all these toys? Donate them to the daycare? Sell them?”. Andy’s answers to the questions were a simple no & how no one wants them because they’re junk - I think it’s clear that Andy isn’t ready to give away those toys.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Andy is now in a cleaning mode where he decided to open the toy box & put the toys in a garbage bag - the toys are pretty convinced that they’re being thrown out because Andy called them junk. However, he decided to put Woody in the college box while Buzz is put into the bag with the other toys. Why the garbage bag? Andy was going to bring it to the attic until he got distracted & his mom thought the garbage bag was actual garbage - fair point though like who put stuff they want to keep in a garbage bag to put in the attic? :haha:.

The mom, in her right mind, assume that it is garbage so she brings it to the curb as the garbage truck is about to pass. Woody notices it so he decides to go to the rescue of his friends, whom all found a way to escape from the garbage bag #RexIsTheHero. Woody eventually finds them going into the Sunnyside’s donation box that is about to be dropped out; he tries his best to convince his friends that they were going to the attics but as always, no one believed Woody. And now, all the toys found themselves at the daycare which is a place where toys with no owners goes.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Once at the daycare, Woody begs his friend to go back to Andy while Buzz is telling the toys to be aware of the other toys as they may be jealous. Andy’s toys finally meet all the other toys due to Rex clumsiness - Rex is my favourite because he always provide comedic relief and he’s underrated! Anyway, they all meet the new toys including a purple teddy named Lotso - he comes across as the leader where he tells them that they’re safe here and they will find out that being donated is the best thing to ever happen to them; Woody is obviously not impressed nor buying Lotso’s act. Lotso proceeds to tell them they will never be neglected as there’s always kids coming through these doors - no need to worry about being thrown out which means you won’t have any heartbreak.

Now that Lotso left, Woody can truly say what’s on his mind: it’s time to go back home! Jessie replies that there’s a chance for them to make kids happy again to which Woody replies that they have a kid named Andy and it’s our job to be there for him - this is almost a take on Jessie & Woody’s meeting in Toy Story 2. He keeps trying to convince the toys go with him, even Buzz is not joining him which means something - this makes Woody emotional. Woody follows with the following line, “We wouldn't even be together if it weren't for Andy!” - Woody really made sure to make us emotional :bye2:. Woody decides to leave on his own where Bullseyes look at him with a look that says “take me with you” which Woody tells him to stay with the other toys. He makes the courageous decision to leave his friends behind which makes Buzz & Jessie’s sad - the gang is slowly getting broken up which makes me sad :bye2:...

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Woody finds a way to get out of the daycare where he uses a kite where he is flying but then gets blown back to the daycare - he gets stuck in a tree where Bonnie, whom we were introduced to earlier in the movie, decides to take home with her. Now that Woody is at Bonnie’s, he is being treated like a toy and she’s in love with him - she even sleeps with him which is super cute.

While Woody found himself a new home, his friends are getting played with - unfortunately for them, the kids that are playing with them are the bottom of the totem pole. Buzz quickly realize that Lotso ensure that they would be in the younger kids’ classroom for this reason. It is fair to say that Andy’s toys are not happy with their treatment - they decide that they will try to escape their current room. To do so, Buzz flies out of the room where he notices some guard roaming through the hall - he ends up following them until he gets caught by the Baby which brings him to Lotso, the self-proclaimed leader of the toys.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Now that Buzz is face to face with Lotso, Buzz express his concerns to Lotso where he grants him his request to move age group - Buzz wants to let his friends know about this but Lotso tells him that he shouldn’t as they need to take the hardship that toys like them can’t handle. Unhappy with Lotso’s response, Buzz tells him that his friends need him as they are like family - Buzz does have a heart <3. The response was not what Lotso expected where he urges the other toys to put Buzz in the timeout chair - as predicted, Lotso is the villain of this movie. To prove a point to the others toys, Lotso and his crew bring Buzz back to the factory self which means that Buzz lost his memory - he won’t remember the other toys in the other room which is way for Lotso to brainwash him.

While the situation with Buzz is happening, the others toys hear some screams so they’re worried about Buzz’s well-being. They’re trying to find a way to see what’s happening where Ms. Potatoe Head suggests that she uses her eyes - she realized that she forgot her other eyes at Andy’s. This leads to her seeing Andy in his room where he is looking for the bag - Woody was right, which they should know by now :haha:. Anyway, Lotso & his crew walks into the room where the toys gets locked up - suddenly, Barbie walks in where she is surprised to see Ken being part of Lotso’s crew where she gets locked up for standing up for her friends #WeStanBarbie.

While all of this happening at the daycare, Woody is bonding with Bonnie’s toys where they are helping him return to Andy. As he is about to leave, he tells them to have fun at Sunnyside where the toys are surprised to hear that Woody was from Sunnyside - they start asking him a bunch question such as “How did you escape”. Why are they curious? It’s because Sunnyside is known as a ruin that is run by an evil bear that smells like strawberries. The toys are telling Woody that Lotso is a monster which he does not understand. Lotso had an owner named Daisy where he was her favourite, and they did everything together. But everything changed when the toys were left behind at a rest-stop; they tried to make their way back to Daisy to only find out that he was replaced by another version. And it was that day that he became heartless.

S_p8XQOqAJQ

Now that Woody knows about Lotso, Woody makes the decision to go back to Sunnyside to find his friends - he chose them over Andy, nothing like friends <3. The only way for Woody to make his way back to Sunnyside is to get in Bonnie’s bag which he does - he finds himself in the toddler’s room. Once at Sunnyside, he is introduced to a phone who warns Woody - “You should not have came back, Cowboy!”. What did he mean by that? It will be harder to escape with his friends as there’s more patrol now. The phone clearly did not know how determined Woody can be - Woody asks him for advice to get around the crew as there’s a kid that is waiting for them. So, the phone gives him some advice - he needs to take out the monkey as he controls the cameras. Will Woody be able to manage this? We are about to find out because Woody is always up for a challenge!

Woody is reunited with his friends but he notices that they’re missing Buzz - where's Buzz? The other toys let Andy know that Lotso did something to him. And the others toys are trying to apologize to Woody for not believing him but he tells them that everything is his fault for leaving them behind. After their mini-reunion, Woody tells them the plan to escape: Mr. Potato Head as a decoy, Barbie distracting Ken (e.g.: fashion show to “Le Freak” which was hilarious), Woody making his way into the camera room. But the biggest role was given to Barbie where she had to grab Buzz’s manual so they can bring Buzz back to his true self - they somewhat managed to do so except he was in Spanish mode where he became super romantic :haha:.

cHsVMyL2DWw

The toys managed to escape from the daycare to the garbage disposal which they planned to use as their way out. But that was too good to be true as Lotso suddenly appears - how did he know? They made the phone tell them everything; when the phone is like “Sorry cowboy, they broke me” :bye2:. Lotso essentially tells them that they’re not special and they’re made to be thrown out; there’s a cute moment between Ken & Barbie where Ken decides to go join Andy’s toys because there’s only one Barbie . With Lotso confronting them, Woody decides to mention the Daisy story to Lotso. But what really changed the course of the movie is when Woody threw the “Daisy heart” which Baby used to wear - Lotso destroys it which really pisses off Baby which lead Baby to push Lotsointo the garbage #YouGoBaby!

As the were running away, Lotso managed to grab Woody’s leg which brought him into the garbage with Lotso - they ended up in the garbage truck where the other toys jumped in to save Woody. Once in the garbage truck, a TV lands on Buzz where all the others toys thought Buzz was gone forever - when they realize that this could be the end of Buzz’s life :bye2:. But luckily for them, Buzz was alive & he was reset to his previous setting so he remembered all of them.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Now, there’s a bunch of challenges coming their way - there’s a metal magnet thingy where Slinky got pulled up so the other toys then grabbed onto metal to go up (e.g.: the funniest part is when Rex is trying to go out but he is unable to do so :haha:. Despite the situation, Woody & Buzz decides to help Lotso.

Woody & Buzz should not have went to save Lotso because it bite them in their behind. How come? When Lotso had the opportunity to press on the stop button at the garbage disposal, he refused to do so. So it means that the toys are about to be destroyed by the fire - this scene always makes me cry because they think this is the end for them & they hold onto each others’ hand :bye2:. But luckily for them, the alien’s master aka the claw came to their rescue where they were brought into the landfill where they find Lotso. Unfortunately for Lotso, it did not turn accordingly to plan as he found a new owner & Lotso gets attached to the front of the garbage truck - he deserved worse tbh #sorrynotsorry.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

The toys are now back at Andy’s where they are getting put into a proper box to get put in the attic. However, Woody comes up with an idea where he leaves a note on the box with Bonnie’s address. Andy personally deliver the box to Bonnie - Andy is super emotional where he tells Bonnie to promise him that she will take good care of them.

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

To Andy’s surprise, Woody found his way into the box to stay with his friend - Bonnie is super excited to find Woody; Andy was quite hesitant to give him up - the way he looked at Woody :bye2:. In the end, he decided to give him to Bonnie where he says the following line:

“Now Woody, he’s been my pal for as long as I can remember. He’s brave, like a cowboy should be. And kind, and smart. But the thing that makes Woody special, is he’ll never give up on you… ever. He’ll be there for you, no matter what.”

That quote always makes me cry because we all had that special toy growing up & many of us still have them; and we could feel that Woody was crying when Andy was saying that line :bye2:...

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image

Before leaving his toys for good, Andy plays with Bonnie for a bit until it was time to leave which was super sad, especially when he was driving away & he is like “thanks guys” - my heart could not handle that! But what really gets to me is when they’re all watching him drive away & Woody is “So Long Partner” - we were under the impression that it was the end of the series so us avid fans were really affected by that line :bye2:.

Overall, this movie means a lot to me - it reignited my love for Toy Story which I decided to make sure that my nephews love, as well. This movie and the first one are probably tied as content and quality - it was filled with comedy (e.g.: Woody in the washroom & escape, “Nobody Takes My Wife’s Mouth Beside Me”,Mr. Potato’s head as a tortilla and sausage, and the toys thinking Ken’s handwriting belong to Barbie to name a few), and emotional scene (e.g.: the garbage disposal scene, Andy’s mom getting emotional, giving his toys away, the end). And the movie should be loved by everyone, including Wally even though he probably never seen it!

DENISE
Toy Story 3

IPB ImageIPB Image

Toy Story 3 appeared to be the end of the Toy Story franchise, although we all know now that it wasn't. I do think it would have been a very appropriate finale, as the movie tells the story of Andy becoming an adult, outgrowing his toys, and them having to move on in the next phase of life. It does make me :bye2: a lot, especially at the end but I'll get to that.

The story starts with Andy having to separate all his things to either take to college, put in the attic, or get rid of. He plans to take Woody to college with him, and puts the rest of the toys in a bag for the attic... but his mom accidentaly mistakes them for garbage, which sets the plot in motion. Woody attempts to save them with the help of Buster and ugh, I have to say the way they aged Buster from the second movie to this one hurts my heart. :bye2: But also Woody's running OWNS me. :dead:

IPB Image

YESSSS. He has the best run of all time. But the toys are able to save themselves and relocate to a donation box, which is fine with them, since they believe Andy wanted to throw them away anyway. Woody knows the truth, but they won't believe him. :bye2: All the toys end up at Sunnyside Daycare, where they're all happy at first, except for Woody. Barbie even meets Ken!

IPB Image

Although, he turns out to be a minion of Lotso, a stuffed bear who smells like strawberries. He sure can fool you into thinking he's nice, but nope. Although I did go back and forth feeling sorry for him and the way he felt replaced by his former owner. :( But the way he treated and took control of the other toys was so wrong. Him and his followers defaulted Buzz back to factory settings and locked up the rest of Andy's toys, except for Woody who had already been picked up by a nice little girl named Bonnie and taken home to play with. At Bonnie's house, Woody meets her toys and learns the truth about Lotso. That poor sad clown toy she has makes me so sad. :(

Meanwhile, Buzz is now doing Lotso's bidding and LOL this is one of my favorite moments of the movie. I'm so happy other people appreciate and it has it's own upload.

NgchHdpDOzQ

:dead:

Anyway, the toys come up with a plan to escape their cages, and Barbie tricks Ken into finding out how to restore Buzz. Although now he's Spanish Buzz. :giggle:

IPB Image

Woody returns to the daycare, where all the toys try to escape, but Lotso isn't going to make that easy for them. Thankfully, Ken comes back to the good side and wants Barbie to live in his dream house. Isn't it so romantic? The toys go through a lot drama trying to make it out of dumpster they fell into, and ugh Lotso once again makes me feel bad for him when he's stuck.... but then not when he tricks them all and they nearly fall to their doom. :ermm: The aliens saved the day! Lotso ends up somewhere else with a garbage truck driver, and the good toys return to Andy. This is where it gets really emotional... Andy writes an address on the box of toys, which convinces Andy to donate them rather than keep them in the attic. The toys go to Bonnie, who we know will have fun with and take good care of them. Ugh, this ending where Andy introduces each toy individually to Bonnie... and THEN when he ultimately decides to part with Woody, is all so :bye2:

IPB ImageIPB Image

It's so sad, but sweet and a really fitting ending for Andy being all grown up and passing his toys along to someone who will love and cherish them just as much. :bye2:

IPB Image

I went back and forth between this and the first one as my favorite... the first one will always be more nostalgic, but I do think I might enjoy watching this one the most. I also think most people will rank the original highest, so I might as well help this one's ranking out a little. I at least hope it's not the lowest ranked of the series.

13. Toy Story 3
This movie is ranked this high solely for the last scene. I cannot watch that scene even to this day without crying. It was beautifully done. I almost feel like Toy Story 4 was unnecessary because the ending of Toy Story 3 was that iconic and beautiful to me. It almost offended me when they announced Toy Story 4 for that sole reason to taint that PERFECT ending scene. Ugh crying thinking about it. It was such a strong movie from start to finish that I am almost debating putting it higher as I write this but I won’t because I am lazy. Forever in love with this one though.

PUBLIC

Alex
Toy Story 3 - I ranked this second and that’s because it is the movie that is most important to me. I really needed it during the time in my life when it came out and it helped me through some sh*t. It’s incredibly important and personal movie for me, along with being incredibly well-crafted. Pixar was firing on all cylinders with this movie. The animation, the plot, the characters, the humor, the seriousness. Every inch of this movie came together in a flawless way. Objectively it is a top 10 Disney/Pixar movie and personally it is one of my favorites if not my favorite.

WALLACE
Toy Story 3 (2010)
I never saw Toy Story 3, so I will give this movie my #28 spot. I do know the Toy Story films are iconic and I believe this is Victoria’s favorite film of the franchise but I personally hope one of the first two films get the highest ranking so I’m ranking it super low to prevent this from being the highest ranked Toy Story film.
