WALLACE
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
I think we all need to have a lot of love and respect for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, solely for the fact that it is the first full-length animated feature film and Disney animated feature film, so a definite historic and cassia film. I am choosing to rank Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at #3, as it is a classic Disney film I loved and the OG of them all. I don’t really know for sure if it’s my third favorite Disney film ever but I do love it. The film was released on December 1937 and grossed $418 million in the box office.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is about a young woman named Snow White (of course) who is a lonely Princess that lives with her evil stepmother, known as The Queen. The Queen is very jealous of Snow White as she fears she will be more beautiful tan her, so she has Snow White working as a maid and has a mirror that she looks into and always asks “who is the fairest one of them all” - which the mirror always responses answering the Queen, to feed very well into her ego. Things take a turn when the mirror does not respond of saying The Queen is the fairest, her jealousy takes over and wants her Huntsman take kill Snow White in the forest. The Huntsman could not go through with The Queen’s plan which upsets her. Snow White is frighten being in an area all alone and scary, but she fins a place with seven small chairs, which of course is for the seven dwarfs, whom happen to be - Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful and Dopey. They all meet each other when Snow White awakens from a nap and she introduces herself to them and them to her. Snow White cleaned up their house while the dwarfs sing, dance and are all quite merry.

Here’s a trailer of the film.

Some standout songs from the movie would include…. “Whistle While You Work,” “Heigh-Ho,” “The Dwarfs' Yodel Song (The Silly Song)” and “Someday My Prince Will Come.”

It's the film that started it all so any low rankings will be judged accordingly. This film paved the way for Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Moana, etc... Without it those others don't exist so we should just all appreciate this film at the least. It's not my favorite Disney Princess film but I do recognize its importance so it ranks just outside of my Top 5 even if I do prefer Cinderella. :giggle: Snow White is not only the OG Princess she is the OG Disney film in general; animated or live-action. She's just as important as Mickey Mouse in some ways. Not all of you may think that but I do since I love Disney. Snow White is 100% that b*tch. :* :bobo:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a 1937 American animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and originally released by RKO Radio Pictures. It is based on the German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. It is the first full-length cel animated feature film and the earliest Disney animated feature film. The film that started it all.

The movie follows Snow White who is a lonely princess living with her stepmother. Snow White's stepmother is the Queen and she worries one day that Snow White will become more beautiful than her so she forces Snow White to work as a maid. The Queen asks her Magic Mirror everyday "who is the fairest of them all?" and for years and years the mirror always replies "you." One day the Magic Mirror lets the Queen know that Snow White is now "the fairest of them all" and jealous she orders the Huntsman to take Snow White into the forrest and kill her. She requires her heart in a jeweled box as proof she is dead. The Huntsman takes mercy on Snow White and allows her to live. He cries and begs Snow White for forgiveness. He informs her that the Queen wants her dead and urges her to flee into the word and never come back. Lost and frightened she is befriends by the animals. They lead her to a cottage where she finds seven small chairs in the dining room. Snow White assumes the cottage belongs to seven orphaned children. The cottage actually belongs to everyones favorite dwarfs Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and my personal favorite, Dopey. Coming back from working at the mine they are alarmed to find their dirty cottage all clean. They think someone has invaded their home. The dwarfs find the intruder asleep in three of their beds. :dead: Snow White wakes up and introduces herself. The dwarfs welcome her into their home after she offers to cook and clean for them. She she is a maid again. GREAT. :dead: That's the deal. Snow White keeps to the house while the dwarfs mine for jewels all day and at night they all sing, play music and dance.

The Queen discovers that Snow White is still alive when the mirror answers that Snow White is the "fairest of them all." She uses a potion to digress herself as an old hag and creates a poisoned apple what will put whoever eats it into a sleeping death that can only be broken by love's first kiss. The Queen disguised as the hag finds Snow White and fools Snow White into biting the apple. Snow White falls asleep and the Queen is not the "fairest of them all." The animals rush to get the dwarfs because they didn't trust the old hag and when they return they chase the Queen trapping her on a cliff. She tries to roll a boulder over them but lighting strikes the cliff and she falls to her death. The dwarfs return to their cottage and Snow White looks dead. Unwilling to buy her they keep her in a glass coffin in the forest. They keep an eye on her. One year later, a prince who had previously met and fell in love with Snow White learns of her eternal sleep. He goes to visit her coffin and is sadden by her apparent death. He kisses her and breaks the spell. She awakes and all the dwarfs and animals celebrate. The Prince takes Snow White to his castle where the will live happily ever after. <3 LONG LIVE THE OG PRINCESS. The film has many songs I like so I'll list a few of them.

This is "I'm Wishing" sung by Snow White in the film. "One Song" is sung by the Prince where he mets Snow White for the first time.

I really don't love this song called "With a Smile and a Song" but I included it because if you have watched Shrek you would know this song/scene are inspired by it. :giggle:

"Whistle While You Work" is a song my sister and I would clean to. :giggle:

"Heigh-Ho is my favorite song from the movie because it features Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey. DOPEY. <3

"Someday My Prince Will Come" is Snow White's song in the film. It's a nice song and Snow White's voice is beautiful.

Snow White premiered at the Carthay Circle Theatre on December 21, 1937 followed by a nationwide release on February 4, 1938. It was a critical and commercial success and with international earnings of $8 million during its initial release briefly held the record of highest-grossing sound film at the time. The popularity of the film has led to its being re-released theatrically many times, until its home video release in the 1990s. It's one of the Top 10 grossing movies of all-time in North America when adjusted for inflation. Snow White was nominated for Best Musical Score at the Academy Awards in 1938 and the next year producer Walt Disney was awarded an honorary Oscar for the film. This award was unique consisting of one normal-sized, plus seven miniature Oscar statuettes. They were presented to Disney by the legendary Shirley Temple. The film cost $1.49 million dollars to make and made $408 million dollars at the box office. The United States Library of Congress deemed the film "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" and selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry. The American Film Institute ranked it among the 100 greatest American films and also named the film as the greatest American animated film of all time in 2008. The film has a 98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Disney's take on the fairy tale has had a significant cultural impact, resulting in popular theme park attractions, a video games, and a Broadway musical. The film has spawned merchandise galore and led the way for other films to get made because of its success. The film has a ride at Disneyland called Snow White's Scary Adventures which is a popular theme park ride there. A prequel was set to happen entitled The Seven Dwarfs but it was ultimately cancelled. No fear though because a spin-off entitled Rose Red is in the works and a live-action adoption is in the works as well. She couldn't let Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle and Princes Aurora be the only one with live-action adaptions. :giggle: Snow White made a cameo with the other princess in 2018's Ralph Breaks The Internet. The Dwarfs get some love too as they had their own animated tv series entitled The 7D. Snow White is the one that started it all and a rank in the top half of this rankdown is necessary. :*

When people think about Disney movies, one of the movies that come right to mind is Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. This classic movie, inspired by a Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales, was released in 1937 - it was an early success for Disney especially considering it was one of their first animated film… By now, we should all know the plot of the movie: Snow White has to live with her step-mother, the Evil Queen who is jealous of Snow White - she forces Snow White to be a maid to ensure that she will never become the “fairest of them all”. Except, one day, the Magic Mirror tell the Evil Queen that Snow White is now the “fairest of them all” - a frustrated evil queen ask the Huntsman to steal Snow White’s heart but he is unable to do so. Following the Huntsman revealing to Snow White that the Evil Queen wants her dead, our beloved Snow White runs away in the wood. Once in the woods, she finds a cottage that belongs to the Dwarfs with whom she becomes friends with - her job is now to watch the cottage while they’re out mine hunting… But with the magic of her mirror, Evil Queen realizes Snow White is still alive - still bitter & jealous, she turns herself into an old witch where she eventually manage to get Snow White to bring her into the cottage. Once in the cottage, the Evil Queen gives her a poisoned apple that bring Snow White into a sleep curse which will only be broken by a true love kiss. Despite being too late, the Dwarfs somewhat become the hero when they start chasing the Evil Queen where she falls to her death. Following the curse, the Dwarfs are still watching over Snow White until a Prince kisses her which broke the spell. And they lived happily ever after!

The movie is one that I’ve always remembered enjoying as a kid - I used to have it on VHS and was one of my favourite to watch. After all these years, we’re still fond of the Evil Queen saying “Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who’s The Fairest Of Them All”. And we cannot talk about Snow White without mentioning the Seven Dwarfs - Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey - as everyone who has seen the movie have a favourite Dwarf. While I am talking about the Dwarfs, I want to give a shout-out to their song
- it reminds me of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Disney World, which I enjoy. I’ll conclude to say that it is quite impressive how Snow White is still relevant after all these years, whether it is her popularity among Disney Princesses or the attractions at the Disney Park, or the many adaption of the story.

Overrated AF. Sorry not Sorry. I feel like it deserves more than that but I am done writing these and I am sure others have it in their top 15 and will give it the write up it deserves.

Snow White - I mean, I guess it’s iconic due to the fact that it’s the first. But come on now. Remember when Snow White tells the pigeons the secret of them being at a wishing well? Like this is the kind of writing that beats Big Hero 6? Nuh uh, not having it. Snow White might be one of the dumbest characters ever and she deserved everything bad that happened to her. First of all she lets herself get seduced by a nameless man at the tender young age of 14 years old. Clearly this prince should be in prison and not seducing random teenagers he hears singing at wells. This man breaks into her castle to declare his love for her! Electric chair, your honor! The villainous Snow White weasles her way out of attempted murder (which I’m disappointed didn’t succeed because it would’ve saved all of us a lot of time). To celebrate her new lease on life, she breaks into some random house she finds. I get you’re in trouble lady, but is breaking and entering the solution? She invites herself into their home and even sleeps in their beds. Like this is crossing an unspeakable number of lines. The horny dwarfs let her stay and I think we know why these seven single men let this happen. This dumbass then eats an apple that some random old lady just hands her??? Not to victim blame, but I don’t feel much sympathy at this point :* . When the bitch rises from her curse she abandons the dwarfs who let her into the house to ride off in the sunset to opulence with the prince leaving them to perish in their squander forever. A heinous woman that Snow White is.

Animated Walt Disney movie made pre-1970s, so I'm just going to assume it's probably got some racist undertone to it.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is definitely iconic and classic for being the first Disney animated feature film. Such a classic movie that nobody wanted to touch this with their nominations, although I do think Snow White may actually be my least favorite Disney princess. :ph34rwave: I don't ever remember thinking this when I was a child, and regardless the movie and its story are legendary.

The story focuses on the Evil Queen's plot to kill her stepdaughter, Snow White, so that she can remain the "fairest one of all", according to her magic mirror. Also, it always surprises me that the quote is, "Magic mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all?" and not "mirror mirror" which so many people seem to remember it as. Why is that? I would like to know.

Anyway, Snow White escapes into a cabin in the woods after learning about her aunt's plan and ends up befriending the seven dwarfs who live there. She just casually let herself into their home when nobody was around and turned it into her own place. Totally normal. The Evil Queen learns that Snow White is still alive, despite her orders of the huntsman to kill her. She takes it upon herself to transform into an old woman and convince Snow White to take a bit of a poisonous apple. She tricks her into believing the apple will grant her wishes if she bites it, which Snow White does before falling into a death sleep. However, the loophole is that love's first kiss will reverse the curse. The prince Snow White is in love with finds her in the golden coffin in the woods and kisses her to bring her back to life. They live happily ever after.

I love all the little animals in the movie and how aware they seem to be of everything, like how disgusted they are with the Evil Queen bringing that apple to Snow White. But the seven dwarfs are the real stars for me, and we got the infamous "Heigh-Ho" song from them. :bobo:

My personal favorites are Dopey and Doc. Anyway, Snow White is forever a classic Disney film and will always hold the title as their first animated feature film. It's not one that's particularly near to my heart like some of the others, so it doesn't rank too high for me here, but I will still always admire it as a Disney legacy.
