Username Change Policy

We currently only allow username changes if they meet one of the following conditions:

• your username is so long that it widens the first column of the topic layout, like this:
  
  
  
  The table border, the red line should be at the green line, but since LuvGrowsWhereMorganGoes's username is pretty long, it widened the first column in topic view.
  
  
• there's a misspelling in your username - in this case, we will correct the misspelling only; we won't be letting you pick a completely new username
  
  
• you are in the New Members group (New/Changed!)
  
  
• or if you really, really, really can't stand your username, you may make a donation of $5 to Neurox and we'll change your username. If you want to change your username again afterwards, you'll have to donate another $5 to do so. Fill in the boxes below and click the "Make a Donation" button. (All major credit cards accepted.)

  Ensure the new name doesn't already exist by checking the Members list (link at the top, search by "Name begins with"). If the name is taken, you must contact Tom to first see if you can claim that username.

  • If you would like to change your username by donating via International Money Order, click here to donate. Please include a note with your current forums username and your new desired username, along with USD$5 or more.

If you don't like your username and you don't qualify for a username change, you can PM a moderator for a one time authorization for a brand new account. We will deactivate your current account. Take note that your account will be deactivated, meaning that it will no longer be able to be used but it will not be deleted. Also note that this will be a brand new account; no settings, posts, PMs, topic subscriptions, etc will carry over.

If you qualify for a name change according to the above, please PM an admin with a reason why you want your name changed and your new username. Ensure the new name doesn't already exist by checking the Members list (link at the top, search by "Name begins with").

Any requests for a name change that isn't allowed under our policy will be ignored.
