I thought I'd make a thread for her second single (whichever song it is). For people who can't follow what's happening on Twitter 24/7 (me haha.gif).

Please post any news about it (tweets, cover art, music video, etc.) here. Thank you!

I want Plastic Roses, nice lyrics, full of emotion and it would bring back Jessica to those who are familiar with her in Idol that is doing ballads.

It would be wise for them to choose a ballad for the 2nd single. Go back to the Jessica that people loved on Idol.

Either Crazy Glue or Plastic Roses is okay for me. I suggest release Crazy Glue as the official 2nd single and Plastic Roses as a promotional single. Don't Come Around and Gentlemen can wait as future singles. original.gif

Those who voted for her that are turned off by club music. Honestly her voice is wasted on all these autotunes and fast beats. Even if that is what's popular nowadays but it is a hardsell. It is a saturated genre. Look at Michael Bubble or even Adele. She could have gone that route.

I don't know. It's hard to sell ballads when you're not already a big name. If she has to "sell out" and release upbeat pop songs for her 2nd and 3rd single to gain new fans, then I'm all for it.

I really hope it's not 'Right To Fall' though. Yeah it has a great message but I don't see it doing well. I can see Don't Come Around or Gentlemen doing well on radio. music.gif

They could have gone the ballad route, but at 17 years old a dance/pop song featuring Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate has a much more likely chance at radio success.

Rank of songs according to US Itunes popularity.

1) No one compares (English version)
2) Gentlemen
3) Don't come around
4) Right to fall
5) Crazy glue
6) You've got the love
7) Plastic roses
8) In your hands
9) No One compares (Spanglish version)

Fans of Prince Royce must be supporting 'No one compares' and 'Gentlemen' is popular. Either of these songs could be Jays 2nd single

I think the next single is one of these two-
Don't Come Around - Great song and instantly recognizable because of the sampling.
Gentlemen - Seems very popular with the pop music lovers.

Possible but unlikely, imo -
Plastic Roses - Great ballad. Not sure if it is the best follow up to the dance/pop "Tonight" though.
Crazy Glue - I think the vocals are a bit too extreme to appeal to a wide audience.
No One Compares - Unlikely for a follow up single to again be a duet with another artist.

The rest of her songs are all great in their own way but I don't think they would do as well on the radio. I wish "More Than Just Friends" was an option. I would quite like that song as a single.
